Intermission 6 Page 11

“You’re going to need some building materials in order to fix this place up properly. Obviously I can hook you up, for a price. But then there’s the issue of having enough people to get the work done.”
“I’ve got people. I’ve got lots of people!”
“People who know what they’re doing, Ricki.”
“Oh.”
“Thing is, I’ve been picking up a bit of chatter while going about my usual business these days. About this friendly goblin that keeps helping people out with their dungeon-related problems. So I started asking around, and, well…”
“Ricki! Hi Ricki!”
“Kids! What are you doing here?”
“Turns out there’s some folks who felt like they ought to pay you back. I hope you don’t mind that I took the liberty of letting them know where they could find you.”
How heartwarming. Now we just need the cloaked guy and his dog to show up to lend a hand for us helping them out.
I think kobold miners specialize more in demolition than construction, but IMHO close enough.
Anyways, now imagine Lohk’s face when she realizes it’s only natural that our team provides food for the construction team 😀
We’re going to need more rats.
You think the barkeep will provide minimal food for them? :O
Pretty sure that’s not the barkeep. He hates us. I think he’s a drunk from the bar. (The one that coughed up the Coin of Revelry to be exact)
He doesn’t HATE us. He’s just a super cheapskate. And we DID help him, even tho it wasn’t to his satisfaction.
For a price, you say?
Which incidentally will be above 8 gold, but Paws has just the right opportunity to get us some gold…
And what about his wife?
Ricki, let the kobold kids know not to play ball with Daisy, or else she might end up destroying that ball, too.
I kind of wonder what would have happened at this point, if we hadn’t done so well in some of the dungeons (e.g. if Sally had killed the kobold family with AoE, if we had skeletons come out of the chapel and if we didn’t save that one poisoned guy with our healing potion. Maybe all the “immobile” drunks we had “knocked out” – at least for the sake of our story – would have come to help us?
But yeah, it’s nice to have everybody visit. (Not wise, considering we’re still wanted criminals and all that, because the more people know the more chances someone lets something slip in a place/ear they shouldn’t, but nice. Besides, the “friend” who sent the letter already knows and they are potentially the most likely of letting things slip, deliberately so. At the very least we know the least about them, their intentions and their goals.)
If we had different accomplishments, then we’d see different results here.
All the drunks we knocked out were fine, though yeah, we might have seen more of a showing if we had killed the skeletons earlier instead of leaving them there to kill most people who came in. Of course, we barely finished that dungeon, a few more drunks and we would’ve needed to abandon.
Is that the tavern guy? Beard is too dark. Anyway he looks like he doesn’t think he belongs there.
Dungeon 2, Turn 6. It looks like the guy that we had to save with a healing potion.
Turn 39, yuck!
Nah, he’s just holding his head because he most likely has a hangover. 😀
