Dungeon 6 Turn 28
————
Macadamia returns to the group and helps them kill the rest of the bats. Or rather, he swings his sword ineffectively at one. Lohk, Daisy, and the wolf spider all take one out, though, while Ricki does her best to draw their attention by running around. The bats attack Macadamia, but deal no damage.
Lara takes out the last skeleton in the kitchen.
Ricki: Head into the kitchen to join Lara. Then journey up one screen with her to engage the scorpion using your oxidicer.
Lara: Wait for Ricki. Journey upstairs then fight the scorpion with her using your heavy pick.
Lohk: Grab the keys off the floor, then go one screen right, so you’re just above the kitchen where the skeleton and dog group used to be. Stay as far right as possible.
Macadamia: Grab the pile of candy then journey up above the kitchen with Lohk. Stay just left of Lohk.
Ricki: Follow Lara and Fight the Scorpion with the Oxidicer.
Lara: Go up and smash the Scorpion
Maca: Pick up the Candy and go to where Lara killed the Skeleton. Pet Daisy if you can. She Deserves it!
Lohk: Pick up the Keys and follow Maca.
Wolf Spider: Attack the Scorpion
Daisy: Get petted.
This tries to kill the Scorpion in one turn. It may be a senseless sacrifice of the Wolf Spider, but he needs to die sooner or later, (sorry) and I’m way too worried about what if the Scorpion’s 9 Damage Attack is Single Target instead of spread out across two or thee.
This also keeps Maca and Lohk out of the Scorpion’s Room just in case it could attack them.
We want to attack the same turn we unlock the door to the bat boss, and Mac does more damage than Lohk. Better to have Lohk have the keys so Mac can attack.
I was thinking Lara would have the Candy in case we wanted to fight the Pokemon Trainer, but that makes more sense. Edited.
We should save the candy for the Knight. We have no idea of how tough it will be. TNIM’s plan to open the door and charge the bat boss at the same time with Mac instead of Lohk is solid.Lohk is down to three HPs and we need to keep her out of the fight at the moment.
I really doubt this kills the scorpion in one turn. The wolf spider is most valuable when it can save us actions or damage. I want us to save the wolf spider to deploy it in the fight with the big bat. Sending it up to attack the ceiling bats will cause IT to be targeted rather than any of our characters, which gives us a better chance of finishing that fight without damage.
Edit: Remember that the scorpion and Sally were supposed to be able to fight and that Sally would have won, but probably not immediately. Sally did 7 damage, and could only survive 3 rounds if the scorpion does 9, as it did to Kamau. Presumably 7 damage over three rounds kills the scorpion (ignoring any damage it would have suffered from forcing it to fight Sally). I’m guessing the scorpion has a stat block like 12 hp, 3 defense. Adding the wolf spider won’t turn that into a 2 round fight unless we get a crit from Ricki or Lara, and I don’t think it’s worth risking the wolf spider’s life when it’s unclear it actually does anything to save us time.
I’m confused about whether this actually keeps Mac and Lohk out of the scorpion room. Where do they go if Lara et al don’t kill the scorpion?
They both clearly spend their time petting Daisy and telling what a good jobs she’s done.
I’m also not thrilled about risking the wolf spider, I know he’s a bit fiddly to use but he’s saved Lara from getting any more corruption points with his wall crawling and we killed all his replacements for some reason.
I meant to say where Lara killed the Skeleton. Fixed that.
That makes more sense. I also clarified my comment to make it clear that Lohk and Mac are in that location too, not on the screen with the master bedroom.
Macadamia: in the meantime as you pass by it, check the other side of the note pinned to the wall
. (nvm)
