Dungeon 16 Turn 2
————

Ricki and Botanya return to the giant flower room. Ricki picks up the upgraded venom blade, dropping one of her thieves’ tools to make room. Botanya uses one of her magic lenses on the corn knight up above. She finds the information revealed to be interesting, but decides not to think too hard about the implications.

Kamau and Ix move to the right. Ix and Toaster attack the clouds the armed pea stands on. The puffy platform holds solid for a moment, but succumbs to the assault, dropping the pea to the larger cloud below and dealing minor damage from the fall. The pea responds by taking a shot with its double crossbow, but Kamau blocks it.
The two corn knights don’t react immediately to the combat, but are now aware and seem likely to retaliate soon.

CORN KNIGHT, HARVEST
HP: 13
Atk: 7
Def: 7
Abilities: +2 Atk against undead, takes +2 damage from fire and birds, if killed by fire deals 2 damage to all nearby enemies
Corn creatures that have not only survived for a long time inside a dungeon, but moved to an entirely different one. They have fully ripened and their power has increased as a result. Like their less mature variants, they exhibit limited capacity for combat tactics, but they do exhibit them. Each may behave differently, but individuals do not appear to deviate or adapt. It is as if they blindly follow the orders of some commander with no independent thought.

Plan: attack!
This should take out a corn knight and probably the pea. Kamau has 18 def and %60 dodge. He should take minimal dmg at most
Kamau: interpose with shield
Botania: move right and lens the carrot from the ladder. Move back to battle and equip tower shield from golly.
Ix: melee attack corn knight 1 (17 dmg)
Princess: attack corn knight 1 (19 dmg)
Golly: normal attack corn knight 1 (20 dmg)
Toaster: ray attack corn knight (21 dmg)
Ricki: move right and attack the lone pea (12 dmg)
Shroom: attack corn knight 1 (23 dmg it)
Problem:
Ix’s Fire Form : Enemies who attack in melee take 1 fire damage
Corn’s ability: If killed by fire deals 2 damage to all nearby enemies
Ix’s ability does not say ‘enemies who attack Ix’, so I’m not sure how to interpret this – if anyone who is part of a melee he’s also part of would be affected, or if they specifically have to attack Ix.
With Kamau here we have to be really conservative about damage.
2 dmg aoe on death will rarely be a problem. Worst case, some pets take a dmg or 2 or Kamau takes 2 more than expected. The aoe is not unblockable and everyone’s defenses are like at least 7
