Dungeon 16 Turn 1

Kamau and Ix get into position to attack the corn knight up above. Ix and Toaster’s ranged attacks deal only minor damage, but as the corn knight comes closer to peer (?) over the edge of its cloud, it becomes apparent that no counterattack is forthcoming.
While that happens, Botanya smooshes two venom blades together to make a single upgraded venom blade, which she leaves on the flower before she scouts the room to the left. Ricki cases the corn knight’s weapon before she scouts to the right (it has no other items).

Botanya finds some new plant creatures. There appears to be a giant flying onion and a group of peas. Adorably/alarmingly, some of them have knives.

Ricki finds more corn knights, another pea, and some kind of giant angry carrot. Also a flytrap in a cage!

Atk +3 and Def +1, 2-handed. Grants +2 Atk against undead. Not consumed when used as a weapon, but it can be eaten by most living creatures to restore 2 HP. Meat eaters can’t digest it well.

Hey that crossbow pea is just chilling on a fragile cloud. Maybe they only degrade when getting on or off instead of how many turns they are in use?
Might also depend on the size of the creature on the cloud.
Plan: Info and starting left
I think we wanna go left first cuz that way has a perma ladder instead of fragile clouds.
But getting info first before scouting more cuz I’m paranoid that onion could knock someone off the ladder to death.
Kamau: Go left to cleave peas with hilt, starting with the knife ones
Botanya: Lens the flying onion, try to tell if the plant is hostile to you. Stay away from the fight but hold tower shield up just in case and remember your upgraded aura
Ricki: Go left. Look closely a fragile cloud without getting on it to try to tell how many times you could use it to cross safely
Ix: Lens the harvest corn dude. Boost ricki up to help her inspect the cloud
I’d prefer to clear right side with corn dog before moving left. That cage looks import.
Plan: go right first for cage
Since we don’t want to use temporary clouds unless we need to, best to clear carrot and get to cage. May trigger botania’s fired up.
Ricki: move left and pick up venom blade. Drop a set of picks to make room.
Ix: move right and attack the cloud the pea is on.
Kamau: move right and interpose.
Botania: move right and lens the corn knight above.
This also lets us know if we can destroy those clouds (or if enemies can). Next turn ricki and ix will be ready to fight in full
Dont forget pets since you’re interposing! Toaster can help ix and princess can damage a corn

One thing I’m confused about: for the smaller clouds, is having a character on top of them when they go *poof* always going to result in a character death? Or, like, if there’s viable ‘ground’ directly underneath them are they fine? I’m guessing it’s the latter since it seems especially mean to instakill a character when it looks like they could fall onto stable ground instead, but maybe we could try attacking the cloud that crossbow-pea is on to see if a) we can break those types of clouds and b) what happens to the pea if it does break?
My guess would be that if a cloud goes poof, the character falls straight down. So if there’s floor nearby below, no issue. If there’s distant floor below, damage. If there’s no floor below, fall out of the dungeon and instadie.
This reminds me. Remember the drider? He was waiting to grab small people and throw them down to the spider’s pit.. I just hope no enemies here have the same train of thought
EDIT: however, as I wrote it – it just occured to me – on the intermission we see that the Toaster is capable of lifting the mule AND the princess at the same time. Mule is SMALL-ish, princess is SMALL, just like Ricky. It may mean that the Toaster could try to lift Ricky, or catch her if she falls. Just maybe. Toaster may be too slow to ride down against acceleration from the gravity. I hope we don’t have to try.
I’m pretty sure Toaster’s ability to carry even one character is 100% silly fluff, and I don’t think LSN would accept us whining about how it worked in the intermission to change his mind.

Toaster cannot carry peope/pets. It was a visual gag and described as a “Cutscene power”
That fragile-cloud on 2nd image is weird. It has small bubbles around it. Trap? Hidden enemy? Timed-respawn cloud as opposed to other fragile cloud that do not respawn?
I’m taking a wild guess and saying that one is gonna poof after one hop. The other clouds will have drops around them right before it’s gonna pop as well. So maybe we have two hops before a cloud poofs or some other number.
that is a great guess, and would make a lot of sense, considering the location of ‘puffy cloud’ – if we decide to send someone down to the chest, cloud goes puff, and we have a person locked out in that lower level, and have to devise a way to get them back. Rope, etc. It’s really likely, considering how the lower level is “shifted” to the right, to not align with middle level’s left end, most likely making it impossible for a tall person like Kamau to just lean and grab someone from under..
