Botanya finished a dungeon! She can gain one new ability from this list:
Beanstalk : Creates a tall immobile stalk that grows straight upward until it runs out of room. Can be climbed to reach high places. Has HP 7. Lasts until end of dungeon or until killed.
Bloom III: Can use four Plant abilities per dungeon.
Disarming Aroma II: Enemies in the room have -1 Atk.
Flytrap II : Creates a Flytrap pet that follows and fights for you. Has HP 4, Atk 4, Def 3, and an additional +2 Atk against undead. Lasts until end of dungeon or until killed.
Longspine Cactus I : Creates an immobile plant that with 6 Longspines. The Longspines can be removed and used as ammo for a bow or crossbow. Has HP 3. Lasts until end of dungeon, until killed, or until all Longspines are removed.
Mulch II: Twice per dungeon can recover 1 expended use of abilities when a living enemy creature dies nearby.
Nectar II : Heals a living creature by 3 HP, or a plant by 5 HP.
Petalporter : Creates a giant immobile flower which allies can step into, then step out of any other Petalporter in the dungeon as though moving between adjacent rooms. Has HP 5. Lasts until end of dungeon or until killed.
Strong Roots I: All created plants have +1 HP.
Tangle Vines : Creates an immobile patch of vines that enemies cannot pass through. Has HP 10. Lasts until end of dungeon or until killed.
Thorns: All created plants deal 1 unblockable damage to enemies that attack them.
Victory Garden: When not in a dungeon, gives extra Labour equal to number of uses.
Petalporter.
Her Plants are not going to contribute enough to make a difference in Combat (compared to bringing someone who can attack), so better to build her for utility and Support.
Petalporter would be insane in a lot of dungeons when we are often having to run back and forth.
“Creates a [= one] giant immobile flower which allies can step into, then step out of any other [!] Petalporter in the dungeon”, i.e. we would need to create two Petalporters to make use of them, i.e. two
abilities would be used up by this (out of three).
True; on the other hand, she didn’t even use all of her flower abilities in this dungeon.
Disarming Aroma II will let us use her much more safely
Petalporter
The more and more dungeons we see, the more and more we want to improve our mobility so that we can safely reach exits, catch up our slow characters to our fast ones, and just save time in general. Petalporter is mobility on steroids.
things to note
Disarming Aroma II:
If she can affect an entire room by just being in it, then she doesnt need to be equipped with Armor/shields. Means more Enc for support role.
Also Disarming Armoa III may debuff Def…
I say Tangle Vines, for keeping chaff off of the party while they deal with more important threats.
Longspine cactus
Can you imagine her working together with Coccyx? That’ll be so cool, they’ll be like enemies to bros and win every dungeon together
Longspine cactus is just 6 arrows though. That’s one inventory stack and 12 gold. Wouldn’t be any better than working with Kamau, who has the inventory space to hold a couple extra stacks for him.
There’s just one thing – those longspine-cactus-arrows may grant something cool related to the name, like pinning to the ground and immobilizing for a time. Or lame-ish like +1 to atk. We won’t know until we try, or find one in the wild. But considering how much we rely on cross/bows, it’s not worth the gamble…
If it did any of those things, it would probably say so. It’s just 6 free arrows, just like Nectar I is just a free lesser healing potion (that works better on plants).
Longspine Cactus II MIGHT do something neat to the arrows… But more likely it would give 8-12 arrows instead.
Flytrap II
A 4 atk/3 def pet would be awesome against pet master so we can get more eggs or pet items. And doing more damage is extra good in Botanya parties since we only have 3 attackers max.
