Dungeon 13 Turn 57
————
Lara continues to fight. The last guard fighting Ricki’s group retreats to the entrance, so now three guards and the justiciar are all fighting her. She takes 2 damage from their combined power, then recovers 3 HP from her new armour.
“HEALING IS BAD IDEA.”
“They need our help.”
“KILLED MUSHROOM.”
“Not permanently. More like, forced the mushroom to take a vacation.”
“And look at how they’ve been treated!”
“Locked up in that tank and subjected to who-knows-what so the Empire can make… magic items and dog monsters!”
“No offense.”
“HRRRM.”
“We should at least help them get out of here.”
“…And come up with something to call them besides ‘the elemental’.”
“ELEMENTAL CAN’T TALK.”
“ONLY KNOW NUMBER.”
“Right. I don’t think I want to call them Nine…”
“Oh, how about…!”
*crackle crackle*
The elemental, which Ricki has decided to refer to as Ix until and unless she learns their real name, seems to have calmed down, recovered enough to stand, and understood the general situation. It looks like they’re willing to cooperate and help escape from the dungeon, though Ricki can’t seem to see their stats yet. Maybe they’ll commit more fully to the party if they live through the next ten minutes.
One thing Ricki does know, however, is that they’re still very weak! It would be a risk to put them in the line of fire at all. Ricki also makes a note to be careful about saying things like “line of fire” going forward.
Removed plan to vote for Nekpots much more guaranteed plan.
This is based on the usual “chase” movement rules.
As long as we’re moving out of the room and not directly into them, they shouldn’t be able to attack us. Similar to how the fish patrol worked in well.
Also similar to the warrens when Ricki grabbed her stuff and ran before the patrol moved in
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! FIRE PERSON FIRE PERSON FIRE PERSON
And another one for the sign crew!!!
Nice! Now the only truly dangerous course of action is if patrol decides to ignore Lara and moves right. It is realistic because the guards who just joined patrol know that a bunch of defenceless intruders were there. Let’s leave the area before they murder us (so we can’t take any actions before moving)
Amad, Ix, Ricki: move lower-left, avoid pressure plate, trade
Ricki trades arrow, atk ring, sword, ground boots for Amad’s def ring, heavy helm, greaves, gauntlets
Lara: web bind one of the guards (it’s safe I did the math)
Next turn Ricki can walk out even if J buffs a guard now.
To clarify,
Patrol DMG drops to 12 vs Lara’s def of 14. She takes no DMG and heals back up to 4.
After trade, Ricki ‘s def becomes 13 (poster included).
Next turn patrol DMG is 13 so Ricki can walk out
We interrupt this program to bring you Ricki, the optimistic goblin show, starring Ricki, the optimistic goblin! And the barely-seen coloured lines of Amadeusz the wolf in gorgeous black and white!
GORGEOUSLY HANDSOME NARRATOR: Lara continues to fight. The last guard fighting Ricki’s group retreats to the entrance, so now three guards and the justiciar are all fighting her. She takes 2 damage from their combined power, then recovers 3 HP from her new armour.
MEANWHILE…
WOLFADEUSZ: “HEALING IS BAD IDEA.”
RICKI: “They need our help.”
WOLFADEUSZ: “KILLED MUSHROOM.”
RICKI: “Not permanently. More like, forced the mushroom to take a vacation.”
“And look at how they’ve been treated!”

“No offense.”

RICKI: “We should at least help them get out of here.”

IX THE FIRE ELEMENTAL: *crackle crackle*

Boooring! **Changes channel back to Empire Propaganda**
… in other news, the Emperor’s glorious guards put an end, once and for all, to the rumours about a “Poisoned well” reputedly presenting danger for the local citizens. “There’s nothing wrong with our well”, said our source, while pouring fish carcasses into said well.
Up next: the happy life of imperial kobold slaves!
Everyone: go help Lara with the guards. IX can tank
Slightly improved version of Nekpot’s plan.
–
Ricki: Head up. Trade your Swiftblade, Grounded Boots, Death Arrow and +3 Atk Ring to Amadeusz.
Amadeusz: Head up with Ricki. Trade your Shocktail, Heavy Greaves, Full Helm and +2 Def Ring to Ricki.
Ix: Head up with Ricki and Amadeusz. Pick up the Heavy Shield by the giant metal door. Also pick up as much of the other gear as you possibly can.
Lara: Since It Can’t Get Any Worse, use your Web Binding ability on one of the Sword Guards.
–
Gets us a Heavy Shield, learn a bit about Ix’s max encumbrance and gives Ricki the Shocktail, which will look much cooler in the final page. I promise.
