Dungeon 13 Turn 39
————
Lara abandons the final wisp and harasses some bats. With her mighty tower shield, she narrowly avoids taking damage from them, then continues heading left.
Ricki and Lara meet up in the lower passage of the entrance room. Ricki picks the potion bandolier back up.
Cordy takes a step back and heals themselves for 1 with a wand. Amadeusz steps in and attacks one of the two remaining dragon tamers, dealing high damage but not quite finishing him off in one go. The two kobolds turn and attack Amadeusz in turn, dealing 1 damage.
ooooh dear.. we left some stuff they can snatch and armour up :/
It might be to our benefit. There’s a chance that puts them into “Wander Mode” immediately, where they normally would go straight to the bottom left and starting Wander Mode from there, there’s a chance they’ll wander upward and check all those rooms first.
How do they know to move towards bottom-left?
We know that patrols were initially meant to pick up any holy wisps from the basement and exit with them (via a note).provided they don’t see anything amiss
Will those 2 Big Shield(Imperial)s make a huge difference? We can either avoid them with the help of the darkness, blast them with a crowstone,or run them down after we recruit Quincy/Tessa.
If we want the new char. We’re pretty sure all levers need to be flipped off before the end of turn 40 or 50. Unless we can dodge a buff patrol for 10 turns we need to flip the last one NOW.
Ricki: move right. Go down hole and flip the last lever.
Lara: stay put to have eyes on patrol
Amad: kill the mostly dead kobold. Pick up the green robe if it drops. Drop a smaller stack of meat to make room
Cordy: attack the last kobold.
Do you think new patrol will have different mooks from old patrol? My opinions were just “avoid them”,& we can guess with decent-accuracy where they’re going (guy above me sait bottom-left).
We can only guess. They might have a set patrol route like the poison fish did, or it could be random.
Or they will actively search for us, or they will hear the explosion and rush to the middle room and slay the guy we just set free.
In the past, LSN has punished staying longer than he wants with more and more deadly enemies. So yes, either the patrol will be larger, stronger, better equipped, or will call for backup when they see the armor we left in the entrance hall.
I know we might need healing, but meat gives only +3hp/turn and only for Amad (or can he eat more than one per turn??), so I think we can safely get rid of some of it permanently.
How about dropping that smaller stack of meat just like you suggested, but straight to the lizard-turtle below?
R:Move to the new hole.Smack the kobold that Amy didn’t attack yet, drop potion of healing.
C:Wash your face with the potion, who says “drink it” is a strict tule?Have your minions attack the same kobold as Ricki (or Amy,whichever has the lowest HP).
A:Attack the same kobold you were already focusing on.
L:Follow Ricki.Take a steak from Golly to eat now or later.Observe the 2 giant beasts & guess their temperament/possible actions (besides the obvious ATTACK EVERYTHING that beasts do).
Something wicked this way comes.
We CANNOT drop the Crystal Heart if we want to recruit the Elementalist/Quintessence being (still think Quincy/Tessa will be a good name).
Oh,unrelated but:Has anyone noticed Cordy has performed several kung-fu moves? An elbow-drop in the Caravan, and a shoryuken + high kick in here.Where did he learn to do that?
Ricki & Lara can’t reach the dragon room this turn without using their actions to move further.
Trading is an action, so Cordy wouldn’t be able to pick up a potion that Ricki just dropped and Lara wouldn’t be able to grab raw meat while Amadeusz is attacking Dragon Tamers.
Uugh, damn, thought those 2 were closer to the hole.
> take a steak from Golly to eat now or later
I think Lara can’t eat raw meat
1.Source?
2.They’re all cooked.
1. D6 turns 17–18 & 21: Lara picks up some raw meat but can’t eat it, then cooks it and is able to eat it.
2. They are not. They’re described as meat, not steaks, when Amad finds them. You can also compare the sprites in Golly’s packs to the ones for Raw Meat and Steak on the Items page.
1.That was when she wasn’t a drider,& I keep getting contradictory info on wether she CAN or CANNOT eat it.
2.Those looked way brown-er when I was looking at them.
Wow. Those kobolds hit hard. Anyway, now is when sh!t hits the fan.
Amadeusz: finish off the kobold you attacked last turn
Cordy and mushroom pets (not you 45): attack the other kobold, hopefully killing it
Ricki: drop the healing potion
Lara: drink the potion Ricki just dropped
Can’t Lara use steaks?Someone long ago said “no”,but I see no line of text in her Character Sheet that specifies it…
“I see no line of text in her Character Sheet that specifies it…”
Sure. There’s also nothing in her char sheet that says she can’t fly, or teleport, or grow to giant size and squash her enemies like bugs. Come on, dude.
“Come on” what?Where did you all get that piece of information? She stillnhas a mouth,we’ve seen her bite of a zombie drider’s arm,& Rotten Cheese explicitly says that goblins can still eat it.Why is everyone suddenly acting as if Lara can’t eat solid food, when I clearly remember her & others doing so?
https://dungeoneyes.com/dungeon-5-turn-31/ Spiders subsist entirely on a liquid diet.
Normal Lara can’t eat raw meat, Spiders can’t eat raw meat, so Drider probably can’t eat raw meat. Hope that clears up confusion.
It does a bit (although, her eating Macadamia’s solid food after coming back does contradict this).
That’s a trade between Lara and Ricki so it takes both their actions. Lara can’t drink
I think feeding someone a potion is valid if they both spend an action
You mean, using it straight off the ground instead of picking up? Yeah, actually, that might work. But still, this effectively wastes Ricky’s turn and we don’t flip the lever, meaning we either don’t get the new character, or have to survive whatever calamity strikes on turn 50..
I know it largely depends on what the patrol is but can I ask what the plan is if we have no hope of fighting the patrol?
Plan: Keep Calm and Fight Dragons
Ricki: Make note of the Guard Patrol that enters. Head down, then right. Trade your potion and bandolier to Lara.
Lara: Head down, then right. Take Ricki’s items. Drink the potion in the same action if you can?
Amadeusz: Drop 4 pieces of meat by the chest. Slay the damaged Kobold. Pick up any dropped robes.
Cordy: Slay the other Kobold.
–
Just Darus’ plan but with some improvements, like moving us towards the dragons. If we’re gonna be greedy, lets do it right.
snip, moved elsewhere
Plan: Flip lever now. Try aggro dragons on each other. Watch what happens with dungeon/levers/dragons/patrol. Make our guesses more educated so we can decide whether gtfo asap, or risk turn50/turn60 on playing with greed and fomo.
Ricki: Make note of the Guard Patrol that enters. Drop your potion and bandolier (so Lara can pick them up next turn). Run right and into the rat-hole. Flip that last lever.
Lara: Drink the potion off the floor if you can without blocking Ricky’s action for “trading”.
Amadeusz: Slay the damaged Kobold. Pick up any dropped robes. Drop smaller stack of meat straight into the dragon-pit.
Cordy: Just slay the other Kobold. Spectacularly.
We’ve already expended all our luck in this dungeon (got Lara killed and revived). We have almost no healing left, except for Amad, and because of the secret room (which almost killed Cordy), we didn’t even have a chance properly using the bottom-right room (wand parts, and wisp machinery for potions or items), bottom-right/right rooms (scientists and their chest, might be very interesting, it’s the deepest place of this dung), and even top-left room (wisp machinery for pets). And we’re almost sure there’s a new character here. And we still have a chance of flipping all valves “on or before turn 40” (a bit on the edge here) just by sending off Ricky to do 1 action.
I rarely suggest it, but I agree with Claudious. We should flip the last valve and get out fast. There’s no way we can defeat 2 ‘dragons’ in melee, unless we aggro them against each other and kill the remaining one (which is VERY sus option). We also can’t kill them safely from afar in reasonable time either, especially considering this T40 patrol and whatever happens on T50. Also, if I remember well, previous dragons had breath attacks, so attacking from afar is quite risky.
Yes. T50. Not T60. Patrol arrive each 20th turn, but ya all remember? we have a guard encampment right outside this very important facility? Patrol T#20 disappeared. If patrol T#40 disappears now too, I totally expect something significant arriving at T#50 to look for them.
I think, flip the valve now ASAP, check if tank explodes on T40, if it does, great, end the dungeon. Primary completed, secondary completed, nothing to whine about. But! If it does not explode — then wtf. Either we missed the timing, or it’s designed to be a longer quest, maybe then T50 is “safe” and we can linger.
I don’t like the idea of fighting the dragons. But if we want it, let’s first try to get them on each other. Other people already suggested dropping the meat, so why not try it already? Just toss it into the hole, maybe monsters will start fighting.
Sadly, Lara’s kinda stuck. To be sure to not block Ricky, she can’t pick up immediately. I don’t want to risk “drinking off the floor”, Ricky’s action is too important now to do this test. Lara can stay there and wonder about all the noises, we’ll get eyes on this room in T41 thanks to her staying here.
1 turn for Lara, 1 precise action for Ricky to flip the damn thing.
And we’ll know more what’s going on here. Now we’re guessing everything.
New patrol should be coming in next turn. We should go greet them by the door and turn over the elemental heart we discovered so they can put it in the lost and found.
Tiny improvements to Sick’s leading plan:
I’m paranoid we wont see the patrol if we leave the room right away so I’m swapping the order.
Also I think the kobold hit by Amad has, like, 1 or 2 hp top since Cordy soloed one last turn. Someone check my math plz, been a while since I played dungeon eyes.
Ricki: Trade your potion and bandolier to Lara. Make note of the Guard Patrol that enters. Head down, then right.
Lara: Take Ricki’s items. Drink the potion in the same action if you can? Head down, then right.
Amadeusz: Drop 3 pieces of meat by the chest. Go back next to Cordy to eat a meat while they fight. Loot green robes first, then blue robes then anything else you have space for.
Cordy: Slay the kobold your mushies damaged before
Cordy’s mushies: Finish the kobold Amad attacked
Regarding getting vision on the room https://dungeoneyes.com/dungeon-13-turn-22/ says we should be fine as long as we start our turn in the room.
I doooo like having Cordy’s mushies (excluding 45) finish off the damaged Kobold, I’d bet they could.
