Dungeon 12 Turn 55
————
Cordy and Amadeusz join Lara in Pet Master’s not-so-secret base. Amadeus uses the wand of mend to restore 1 HP to Cordy.
Ricki waits for the swarmfish to leave. After a minute or so she sees them turn around and leave the room. But where are they headed…?
“Dum de dum…”
“On to bucket number two!”
Im sorry for downvoting that guy who said the peasants were an Enemy.
And I still think we should have sent Ricky left and to the frogs’ place instead of going here to the bucket’s place.
Our greed is our enemy.
I don’t think they’re an enemy,but some of them do deserve a dope-slap or 5.
Apology accepted. Now, let’s go genocide some peasants. Maybe then the emperor will like us since share an interest in the same activities.
We’re going to have to take a leap of faith when we send Ricki across to the left. I believe the first fish group is currently in the same room as the last source. The second one, the bucket room. Next turn, provided they dont show up in Ricki’s room again, the fist group should be moving up towards center. That is when we’ll send Ricki across. It is unclear what route both groups of fish will take and we have no eyes on the rooms. This is going to be a gamble if we do this blind. So here’s my plan:
Plan: Still not going to like it.
Cordy: Give Amad the Wand, the pouch, and 1 ring. Give Lara your Hood. Move down after trading to the air pocket. Accept Gauntlets, Greaves and Arrows
Lara: Trade your Heavy Gauntlets to make room
Amad: Trade the arrows and Heavy Greaves to make room. Drop the lockpicks
Ricki: Wait and pray.
Next turn, if the fish aren’t sighted in Ricki’s room, we send Cordy to middle shaft to block both groups from passing and reaching Ricki. We can grow another cordy and we preserve the best items he is carrying.
I should add, that we may not need to sacrifice Cordy with this plan. If Group 1 isn’t seen in Ricki’s room, then they are moving up the well and away from Ricki. If Group 2 is spotted in the Pet master room, then we know they’re not moving down the well towards Ricki. If both patrols work in our favor, then we can send Ricki across safely and dont need to sacrifice Cordy. Still good to have a plan B though…
The only alternative plan i can think of is having Ricki just run to last Source, and hope she isn’t mauled to death. 50/50 for game over ain’t fun.
So this one has my vote unless someone can come up with even safer one.
Not committing to Cordycide just yet.
Ricki: Consider smoking, but don’t. Hug your shroom instead.
Lara: Maintain your position to keep eyes on this room.
Cordy: Head down, sting the crab that snipped Amadeusz earlier. And take its lunch money. (Pick up the gold drops)
Amadeusz: Head down, and tear that crab to shreds until its nothing but meat, shroom and coins. (Midas gloves)
–
Ricki’s eating the shroom now since there now might be a new crab by the last poison source, and she’ll need the HP to tank it.
We know from turn 54 that our characters can stay ahead of patrolling enemies, so the Squad moving down is safe even if the new swarmfish move left.
Other that, it’s the plan continued. Next turn Ricki will move left and pick up a coin, and the turn after will go for the poison source. THEN if we find there’s Swarmfish piled in there, Cordy will begin his trek towards the Ultimate Sacrifice.
Edits: Ricki no longer eating shroom. She can’t oneshot the polyp without it, as confirmed by how Cordy couldn’t oneshot his earlier. Lara is staying in this room so she can keep an eye out for the 2nd group of Skelefish. Amadeusz is killing the crab for Cordy so we can get some more gold and shroom in our life.
Shouldnt we keep someone in the petmster room so we can confirm Fish group 2’s location?

How many skeletal fish have to be in the well before people stop delaying?! Our time is up. Prep for emergency measures *now*, not at some nebulous future date. If one single thing more goes wrong everyone is dead.
Idk if you noticed, but the poison water does damage to our characters. Ricki has 3 HP and 9 Defense after underwater penalties. You wanna send her through 3 rooms of poison water all at once through the trio of Skeletons that have a more than 50% chance of instantly killing her? Post it then.
We tried to end the dungeon on turn 50. But people wanted to “Be A liTtLe GrEeDy” and decided to push it. Every action* we’ve taken since then has been to leave the dungeon in a way that wouldn’t instantly kill Ricki.
If we could even abandon, we probably would, but the Skeletal Fish pathing is unpredictable and they move so quickly that there’s no way for her to even think about inching upwards, much less now that there’s two groups of swarmfish.
*Except the poison bucket thing. Those were not made to safely leave the dungeon. Those were the mad ravings of a lunatic.
I endorse the other plan. Being able to sacrifice Cordy without dumping our best equipment is more important. If we don’t feel the need to sacrifice him, we can worry about picking up pennies *then*.
The greed you mention is exactly what I’m objecting to in your plan. You’re still grubbing for gold and labor rather than prepping for an emergency or even feeding Ricki a HP and replacing her mushroom with the new one.
What greed?
Do you honestly think throwing away random items for no reason is going to contribute towards Ricki/Cordy breaking the last polyp faster?Misinterpreted reason for Cordy trading this turn, so my bad on that.Would it help us more if Cordy/Amadeusz took no actions instead of making a new shroom to increase Cordy’s Atk enough in the case he has to break the polyp by himself?
And feeding Ricki the shroom so she can’t break the polyp by herself in one attack in the case she can get there safely, that speeds us up in the end?
I’m just trying to end the dungeon as quickly and safely as possible. Idk what’s wrong with that.
