Dungeon 12 Turn 25
————
Ricki, Lara, and Cordy work together to defeat the three skull crabs. Again, they don’t seem to be nearly as dangerous after they initially reveal themselves. Cordy uses Spore Touch, sacrificing another 1 HP to grow one replacement mushroom. The crabs drop two more pieces of raw meat, which Lara picks up.
Meanwhile Amadeusz loots the nearby chest. Inside he finds a fishing rod, which seems to be of limited use anywhere else, but possibly worth using here. He takes no damage from the skeletitan swatting at him.
All characters are able to surface for air.

FISHING ROD
Weapon
Atk +1, or Atk +5 against aquatic creatures.
Weight 1, Value 8
Aw, didn’t let us take the harpoon.
I aasume the room to the right is the last room, which contains the boss that is the source of the poison. I also wonder if we cleared out all the bonus poison sources and can therefore open that blue chest.
This next turn might be a quick scout and preparing. If there’s no more water to clear up in the next room, gun for that nice blue chest.
AGREED.
Room the right contains 6 Skeletal Swarmfish. Room below that is probably the last or 2nd to last room.
I don’t think that’s what it will take to open the blue chest. That’s the main goal of the dungeon, and can’t be completed until we’re done. Most puzzle chests have been something other than the main goal that can be completed before the dungeon ends.
My bet is expending or placing Wish Coins in the little poison alcove nearby.
which poison alcove nearby?
also, tthat made me wonder, should we try forcefully putting a wish-coin into a barnacle?
It would not be the weirdest thing we’ve done.
The one on the same screen as the puzzle chest, to be clear.
Amadeusz: don’t leave the Skeletitan hanging. He clearly wants a high five.
A double-crisp-high-five right to the face.
Attack on Skeletitan:
Ricki: Attack Skeletitan
Ama: Attack Skeletitan
Lara: Attack Skeletitan
Cordy: Sting Skeletitan from a safe distance.
Everyone go up to breathe afterwards, if possible.
Might be overkill, but better than wasting another turn if this thing has high defense.
Last time we faced one,Ricki & Lara almost killed it in 1 turn,so that should give us an estimate of how high its stats are.
Ignore Skeletitan, go to fishies for now:
Ama: Attack fish #1
Lara: Attack fish #2
Ricki: Attack fish #3
Cordy: Spore touch fish #4
Ama’s shroom: Attack fish #5
Lara’s shroom: Attack fish #6
Reasoning: If more than one fish hits Cordy, he’s dead. Anyone else would take a couple damage. We have to sacrifice a couple mushrooms to prevent that. Ama’s shroom is by far the least important, since he doesn’t get DEF/ATK from it. Cordy won’t be able to safely move to a poison room without 3+ shrooms, so having him keep all his.
Incidentally, if Skeletitan gets an attack of opportunity as we pass, that person might die.
Should we spend the next 5 turns collecting loot (like the chest & oxymoss guarded by a frog) or gun it for the last barnacle?
We should also grab the harpoon.Unless the skeletitan drops something valuable, don’t bother killing it.
Carefully gun it. Doing so may prevent our progress from regressing again next turn.
I can get behind that, but we better find a suit of gold platemail that we can sell,if we want to buy upgrades next intermission.
Attack on Skeletitan, betting that he’s weaker than he looks
Ricki: Attack Skeletitan
Ama: Attack Skeletitan
Lara: Go grab the spear.
Cordy: Sting Skeletitan from a safe distance.
Everyone go up to breathe afterwards, if possible.
In the tomb Lara & Ricki almost killed one together, also the hood helped against it (comment turn after) – so I think 3 people should enough

We do have underwater penalties now. Also Cordy doesn’t contribute much unless we want to spend his health, which we’re getting short on.
Thank you for the citation though!
Why focus on THAT,& not the 4th Barnacle in the next room?
Quick question. Does the fungal family bonuses stack for Cordy and their 4 tiny shrooms?
Yes, Cordy gets +4/+4 when he’s fully attended.
It makes him seriously strong.
