Dungeon 12 Turn 24
————
Ricki swims back down and defeats the last lingering fish, while Amadeusz moves past the barricade that Lara destroys for him and tears up another egg sac, once again cleansing the water in the nearby area. Amadeusz takes 1 unblockable damage from the poison. All three are able to surface for air after doing their thing.
Cordy drinks their potion while staying near the group of skulls, recovering 5 HP. Two of their mushroms start poking at those skulls, resulting in three skull crabs attacking. The two little mushrooms are destroyed, releasing poison but not doing enough damage to kill the crabs. The third crab attacks Cordy, dealing 1 unblockable damage. They then take another 1 unblockable damage from drowning.
Three crabs! Skull’s direction doesn’t matter!
And poison is removed ‘from the area’, disregarding the ‘closed pool of water’. So, it is even more probable that it’s barnacle-per-level/layer-of-the-dungeon, yay?
Other observations:
poison didn’t affect mushies, or, seemingly, anyone. Maybe tearing the eggsac turned off the poison *immediately*, so during this whole turn there was no poison in the waterwhy only 2 mushies attacked? I thought that Jing’s plan was top-voted, and (…) EDIT: Oh, Kat’s plan#2 got 8votes.
Plan: Crabs and Loot
Amad: Loot the chest and swim back up for air. He has the most Def and hp.
Ricki: Attack Crab 1
Lara: attack Crab 2. Loot any Meat and the harpoon.
Cordy: Spore Touch Crab 3
Swim up for air after
Kills crabs. Gets everyone up for air and ready for swarm fish next turn. Or if we’re feeling paranoid, we can dogpile the skeleton before we leave. We will also get a clearer picture as to the dmg the skeleton can do. I don’t think it will be more that 8 though.
Do we need to say that Ricki, Lara, and Cordy also swim up for air after combat?
You’ve probably already thought of this, but with six little mushrooms we should be able to take out all the swarmfish in one turn, which would be great. After that we could dogpile the skeletitan with three party members, if we care to, while the fourth swims down to finally see what level 4 looks like.
The skelliefish are poison immune, unfortunately. So any mushies that attack them are gone without replacements.
Not quite true. If three mushies gang up on one swarmfish, then the fish dies and so does one mushie; two mushies survive. That’s what I was envisioning.
Claudious’s plan, but optimized so that Wolf gets to pick up any meat, and Lara (who has equal defense and almost equal health) loots.
Lara: Unequip your sword, then loot the chest and swim back to the alcove for air.
Ricki: Attack Crab 1 and swim back to the alcove for air.
Ama: attack Crab 2. Loot any Meat and the harpoon, and swim back to the alcove for air.
Cordy: Spore Touch Crab 3, and swim back to the alcove for air.
Kills crabs. Gets everyone up for air and ready for swarm fish next turn. Or if we’re feeling paranoid, we can dogpile the skeleton before we leave. We will also get a clearer picture as to the dmg the skeleton can do. I don’t think it will be more that 8 though.
It is possible Lara can eat the meat too. And I’d prefer that amad takes any dmg from skeleton if it happens to exceed our def
> It is possible Lara can eat the meat too
heck, yeah, afterall she’s a kind of a monster now, worth trying
Yeah that’s fair. I’m no longer allowed to edit/delete though.
Oh crap, there really IS another barnacle to the right!Should we ignore thr skele-titan & the chest it’s guarding?
Why do you think so? I see no reason to think that. Rather, another one is on next, fourth, dungeon level/layer (right, then down, then maybe left/right)
Honestly unless there’s a big turn 30 reveal or there’s more to this dungeon than a couple more rooms, a full-clear is looking almost possible… Especially if we can get some more meat for Ama and some more free mushies.
It’s well established that skull crabs only live in skulls that face right. Therefore one of these crabs is an imposter. Nobody so anything until we figure out which crab is fake.
