Dungeon 12 Turn 11
————
Ricki swims back into a room with air. She picks up the harpoon off the ground while leaving her potion of poison resistance behind for later use.
Cordy and Amadeusz attack the baatles guarding what appears to be one of the pools of water the party needs to clean up. Each of them attacks one (with two of Cordy’s mushrooms helping), but the baatles are sturdy creatures. Rather than attacking directly, each picks up one of the little mushrooms and both throw them at Cordy, dealing 3 damage (for a total of 4 HP lost in addition to the Spore Touch recoil). This causes both mushrooms to explode, dealing 2 damage to Amadeusz (for a total of 3 damage with the cigarette recoil) and defeating the insectoids. Three new mushrooms sprout in the chaos, for a net gain of one new mushroom. One of these can be given to Amadeusz.
Lara ignores all of that and chops up one of the skeletal fish. She notices that these particular undead seem more vicious in larger groups, but with her poison defenses kicking in she takes no damage.
Good to know they’ll throw our small pets as well.
I wonder if they’d try to throw Ricki >w>
Now you’re opening up the possibility that some Baatles will use Ricki to play “keep-away” with Lara.
Thanks Claude for better plan.
Ricki: Head up, hop in the water and stab a Skeletal Fish with your Harpoon.
Lara: Go down, drop gland where poison resist was, head in the water and loot the remaining chest.
Wolf: Dive in and kill a Skeletal Fish.
Cordy: Go down, drink the poison resist potion. Celebrate having a full family.
Shroom #20: Stay with Cordy.

Next turn Ricki picks the locked chest, Wolf destroys the polyp, and Lara and Cordy head leftward to deal with the Blowfish. (We have a good plan for them)
Doesn’t the big hole mean it’s a trap chest?
Or am I mistaken?
“Big hole”?You mean the 6 grey pixels that represent the lock?
I think thats just what locked chest looks like?
Looked through the archive, yeah I was mistaken. Trapped chests have a square lock -plate, that was the difference.
Trapped chests are squared with a thin plate around a thick square keyhole. Normal chests have a rectangular gold plate with a thin slit if not locked, or a rectangular silver plate with a thick vertical slit if it is locked.
YO!I am back.
Ricki:Harpoon one of the fish that are harassing your lover.
Amy:Do whatever Ricki is doing.
Cordy:Eat one of your minions to recover health.
Lara:Disengade & resurface to avoid taking drowning damage.Kill a fish while floating on the surface/wall-clinging JUST ABOVE the surface.
Objections?
Also,is anyone drawing a map of the area as we go along?
There’s a pin on the discord, but here’s a link.

Exact same plan as Sickass posted, but with Ricki using her sword and shield for higher stats than with harpoon in case she’ll need the extra def.
Ricki: Head up, hop in the water and stab a Skeletal Fish while wielding your sword and shield
Now that I think about it, does this plan account for the little note at the bottom of this page – that these fish are more vicious in larger groups? Lara didn’t get that note with a group of 3, but did with a group of 5, so it’s hard to say if the cutoff is 4 or 5.
At 2 damage each, Ricki and Wolf could each tank 2 fish. If the fish split differently (3 to one character, 1 to the other), then the character getting the larger share would take 2 damage. But if these fish are still getting the large group buff and do 3 damage each, then an even split would be 2 damage each and an uneven split would be 5 damage to one character.
The best we have is that, since this poisoned water is separate from the rest of the dungeon and only has one of these polyps, it only deals 1 Poison Damage. The “vicious” fish in large groups have 3 Atk instead of 2. Lara had 16 Defense this last turn, and so was able to tank it all, thankfully.
Ricki and Amadeusz both have 8 Defense and will be able to tank 1 Poison Damage + 2 Fish @ 3 Atk.
