Dungeon 12 Turn 10
————
Ricki swims to the left with her new mushroom pet, narrowly managing to resist the burning pain of the poisonous water. She uses her other magic lens on one of the blowfish. Looks like they aren’t all that strong, but they have some annoying abilities.
Ricki takes 1 damage as she has nowhere to surface for air.
Lara attacks the second scorpion, easily defeating it. She tries to distract it again with a little mushroom, but it doesn’t work. Cordy joins in the attack with their wand of venomous sting, which allows them to spore up another new mushroom pet. Lara picks up the scorpion poison gland that drops, on the wild off chance that she finally takes that Poison Use ability some day.
Amadeusz swims down and loots the chest on the right. Inside he finds a magic lens to the replace the ones that have already been used. The two skeletons try to attack him, but do no damage even with the poison water in play.
Amadeusz is also tempted by the coins on the ground, but he already used his action to open a chest. Considering it now, he actually thinks those coins can probably only be picked up one at a time even if they’re close together.
Amadeusz climbs to the new section of the previous room.

BLOWFISH
HP: 5
Atk: 1
Def: 2
Abilities: Def +5 against poison, deals unblockable damage, deals 1 unblockable damage to nearby attackers, explodes dealing 5 poison damage in an area nearby upon defeat, aquatic
A strange combination of fish and naval mine. They show little intelligence and tend to bob in place and lash out randomly at anything they identify as either food or an enemy. However, their extremely sharp spines and their tendency to explode violently makes them serious threats.

VENOM GLAND, SCORPION
Consumable
A character with Poison Use can apply this venom to a weapon when making an attack. That attack deals 3-4 additional poison damage.
Weight 1 (Stack 5), Cost 6
Well dang, that is VERY good information. I’m glad we have the spears to deal with the Blowfish. Unless someone can think of a more efficient way to take them out?
Glad to be wrong on the poison getting worse turn 10.
We have enough defense to tank increased poison (and LSN made a math oopsie before updating the page that let slip that poison damage has in fact increased to 4 per room travelled)
Honestly, the best solution is to ignore the Puffers if we can. Or leave them for last.
Every time the water gets cleaner (until it gets to 100% clean) will be effectively +1 defense.
Every time we pass by them will be 1 unblockable damage. If we’re going to ignore them, we’ll need a strategy that lets us go past them as few times as possible in as large of groups as possible, without joining a melee range fight with them if it can be avoided.
I wonder if we can use the spears on the poison spewers? That might save us from needing to deal with the ones on the screen 2 left, if a single spear throw takes one out.
Hey,I’m back.
See?I dud say that nothing would likely happen at T10 if we didn’t kill any barnacles!
Blowfish, +5def against poison, and they literally swim in a poison tank all the time. Does that mean they have effective defence bonus all the time, as long as they are in water? So if we (A) make the water clean (B) or take them out of the water and they do not touch the water at all through the turn (and we don’t attack them with a poison) they lose that bonus?
also, I can’t help it.. can we catch them, and cut them up a bit, and wear them like a helmet, taking some damage but getting +def bonus vs poison? 😀alright, I just read their description to the end, we certainly don’t want to wear booby-trapped helmets, even if it were possible 🙂It likely means they have a net +1 defense right now (4 damage poison water, 5 poison defense). If we half-clean the water it’ll effectively strengthen them. If we 100% clean the water, it will weaken them.
Courtesy of Sick,
Ricki: move Right, grab harpoon and drop potion move up, chill.
Lara: move Up, kill a fish near surface with harpoon (melee).
Wolf: Hit left Baatle, smoke. (11 damage)
Cordy: Spore touch right Baatle, have 2 shrooms help. (11 damage, spawns shroom)
If a shroom dies, Amadeusz takes another damage but a new shroom is born from the Baatle Amy killed.
Baatles do 4 damage in melee and shouldn’t be particularly intelligent/tactical, so they’ll attack the people attacking them.
Both Cordy and Deusz can tank that no problem.
Lara will take 14 — 4 from water, 10 from fish, but has 16 defense, so she’ll be fine.
We want to clear the fish before dealing with the poison pustule. Two reasons — one, there’s an off chance it’s a trap &/ explodes similarly to the pufferfish, and more importantly because those things probably have a % chance to respawn every 10 turns, so if we need to backtrack to clear it again, we want the fish wiped to make it easier to clear with a less-tanky character (or a tanky character that ran through a couple rooms of poison water first)
Blowfish is a delicacy in some cultures. We should harvest them. Get all up close and personal while we do.
Do we happen to know if eating the little mushies heals 1/2 rounded up (so 1 even if they’re at 1 health) or rounded down (so 0 if at 1 health)?
