Dungeon 10 Turn 5

Lara loots the chest the spiders are guarding and finds three spider venom glands. She briefly wonders if this counts as desecrating their weird spider graveyard but quickly decides she doesn’t care and takes them, dropping her cigarettes to make room. Ricki returns through the narrow tunnel and uses her Grit ability to restore her HP to full.
“I haven’t seen anything else that looks like an archive, so I guess it is that area up above.”
“Makes sense, I doubt it would have moved much.”
“There’s one of those… creatures… guarding it, though.”
“As soon as we kill it, we can get what we came here for.”
“Lara, you know we don’t ki—”
“It’s mercy, Ricki. Trust me.”
“Anyway, we can grab some more stuff if we find it, but we have to move quickly, okay?”
“Okay.”
After again avoiding any damage from the pair of spiders, Lara heads back to the previous room. Part of her wants to stay close to Ricki for comfort, but another part tells her to stay far, far away.

A character with Poison Use can apply this venom to a weapon when making an attack. That attack deals 2-3 additional poison damage.

Turn 10 is when lara is forcefully turned into a drider.
I sure hope for her sake that the dungeon ends once they get to the archive on turn 9, and that the objective doesn’t change to something else.
I think it’s relatively unlikely that LSN will screw us for accomplishing the listed objective by the listed time. There might or might not be a further objective, but we’re not going to drop dead for doing what we were told to do.
Plan: Do what we came here to do and what Lara keeps asking us to hurry up and do
Lara: Move right, up the ladder, and attack the drider in the archive with siegesword. If it drops loot, drop the rope to pick up new items.
Ricki: Move up and attack the drider in the archive with swiftblade. Point out the trap/egg sac/strange floor object to Lara and maybe say out loud what it looks like
Rationale: For RP reasons, DM hints, the knowledge that we have two explicit loot dungeons coming up after this, and because we came here for smooches not for loot, we should just do the thing
Likely continuation: Turn 7 – Ricki points out a trap and provides emotional support. Lara interacts with the archive and we find out how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Better to drop the spider glands than the rope. We will want to bring rope to the next dungeon and it costs more to replace than 3 spider glands sell for.
This turn your plan puts 4-6 unneded damage on Lara this turn. Best Case scenario.
Worse Case? If any 2 of those 3 monsters attack Ricki she dies right now.
Both Lara and Ricki attack Drider so it’s 50% for its targetting. Spiders are unassigned so they can attack whoever.
The rabbit hole doesn’t go anywhere. Dungeon Goal has never changed. This is the end.
It (more or less) changed in the dungeon where we met Mac. Completing a goal caused the guard to come and change the goal to ‘escape’.
Yeah, but the Warrens goal was to “help a cobalt, then gather near exit”, so the wording was still correct, although misleading. In this dungeon its technically possible that we discover a secret entrence leading even further back in the temple, but that’s too far fetched.
Ricki: Go left, loot locked chest. Ditch torch if necessary. Keep at least one set of thieves tools, but can also drop the second if needed.
Lara: Blast the little spider through the barred door (and behind the three reinforced skeletons, on top of the chest) with the wand of Venomous Barrage.
Plan:
T7: Ricki opens door, Lara walks past skeletons to open chest, both return to archive room.
T8+: Deal with drider and archive.
Ricki will lose a couple HP this turn, and Lara will lose a couple the turn after. This also passes up on the chest behind the wolf spider and drider. In exchange we get another turn to safely deal with any complications around the archive.
Something between an aggressive go-for-everything-we-can plan, and finishing right now.
Can mitigate next turn a bit by unequipping siege sword.
Ricki: Head to Room 2, up the ladder and kill the Wolf Spider.
Lara: Drop your newly acquired Glands, unequip your Siege Sword, and loot the chest behind the Drider and Wolf Spider. Head back down the ladder and end the turn in front of the Locked Door to the Skeleton Room.

T7
Ricki: Unlock and Loot the Locked Chest, dropping Tools if needed. Head down to hang out with Lara.
Lara: Use the Wand of Venomous Barrage on the Silly Little Spider.
T8
Ricki: Unlock the door for Lara, head to Room 3.
Lara: Drop Rope, loot the Chest by the Skeletons, head to Room 3.
T9
Rick & Lara: Head to the Archive, finish this dungeon.

Lara: kill mini spider once Ricki opens door
This will set us up for another chest.
Turn after we can get the chest and Ricki can make the wolf spider chest safe.
The poison glands are garbage, we can drop those for something better later
My only issue with this is are we sure we don’t want to have her shoot through the bars and open the door after? Shooting through the bats could save her skeleton damage if the little spider does too much.
I know we’re cynical about ranged damage, but bats keeping skellies away seems semi logical.

It sounds like we need to kill archive drider to end dungeon…

Lara: In a pile on floor 2, drop sword+glands+rope+hood, then walk to wolf+drider and loot their chest(Takes 4 damage), then retreat back to the pile
Ricki: Loot locked chest, dropping torch if needed to make space, then retreat back to the pile
T8:
Ricki unlock last door then walk to the chest with Lara to split skeleton attacks, then retreat back to the pile
Lara loots skeleton chest behind door(may take 1 damage at worst if they still focus fire), then retreat back to the pile
T9:
Ricki&Lara: Sort out final inventory between themselves and the pile, then reach archive(with Ricki pointing out egg) to finish the goal

Ricki: go left, loot the locked chest, drop torch and 2nd tools if needed. Move right to get eyes on the spiders below the archives.
Lara: Unequip your sword so it stays in your inventory, but does not provide def penalty.
Use wand of barrage through the gate on little spider.

Notes:
Ricki survives on 3 HP, Lara survives on 2 HP.
We avoid potential HP loss by killing the unknown spider through the door, and characters have some health to spare
Without lensing the drider killing it in one turn is a guess, but considering our girls do 21 dmg combined it’s a safe bet.

7) Ricki: Unlock skelly door. Lara: Kill 1st spider by the chest

This trades the least guarded chest for more safety
I think this works better than my original plan. Only thing unaccounted for is if we need an action to deal with spider sac or interact with Archive which is up for debate since objective is just “Reach the Archive”
Also Ricki dies if she gets attacked by 2 spiders she’s close to now. But that’s true for most currently posted plans, except yours that only has 25% chance of her dying
What if Ricki and Lara cant together kill the Drider in one turn?
This doesn’t actually reach the archive until turn 10 which is when bad things happen.
I’m okay with this turn’s actions, but I want to kill that drider next turn so we have time to react if a double attack somehow doesn’t drop it. We can spend 1 HP on Lara to unlock the door and grab the skeleton chest in one turn, but we can’t get more turns if we run into trouble on turn 9.
People, i beg of you. Don’t give us a Game Over by trying to end dungeon faster when we can safelly get 2 more chests (double what we got so far)
Those spiders Lara was fighting? They have moved, they are now guarding the ladder. Anyone who uses it will be hit by them AND Ricki can not survive 5-12 dmg. Literally can’t.
If you’re concerned about that we need to send Lara back to fight them now because Ricki is still next to them, right?

Ricki: go to room 2 and attack wolfspider (receives 2 dmg is put at 3)
Lara: Kill one of the spiders currently munching on you

Lara: Either wait or finish drider. (If Drider is still alives Lara takes 3dmg. Reminder she is currently at Max HP)
t9:
Ricki go up ladder (get hit by last spider that is now guarding it) and point out what we thinkis a trap. If it’s not use your turn to pick it up (at that point we could instead use lense on little spider for future dungeons)
Lara: heed Ricki warning and access archives

Bonus, if Lara can one shot the drider, then she can kill the other spider T8 for a chance at stacking venom gland drops (or kill the other drider for another roll at drider drops). Unlikely, a drider is most likely tougher than a spider which we can only barely one shot.
I don’t think the spiders are guarding the ladder, but I agree this is very safe. It’s amusing that fighting more enemies means taking less damage, stacking Poison Resistance is fun.
For those not on discord, LSN CONFIRMED killing the drider guarding the archives is necessary.
I feel like I need to point out that we have Case on Ricki. Is it possible that we can look inside the chest that the small Spider/Skeletons are guarding and see if the effort for that area is worth attempting it?
Problem is it takes an action, same as opening it
