Dungeon 13 Turn 55
————
Lara makes her way back to the rest of the party.
Amadeusz quickly tries to salvage the situation by gathering Cordy’s items. He drops his crowstone, meat, oven mitts, and helmet in order to pick up the purse (and gold), midas gloves, life dragon robes, staff of turning, and wand of mend. Only the potion bandolier remains. The two remaining guards attack Amadeusz as he does this, but they do no damage. They’re a lot less threatening without the buff from the justiciar.
Ricki attempts to interact with the elemental, but it seems the elemental heart (or their attempt to resist it) has severely drained them. They don’t seem capable of communicating or even moving! The only information Ricki can gather like this is from looking them over. She notices the number “9” imprinted on their collar, but nothing else stands out. The only thing she can think of to help this situation is healing magic.
The remaining elemental wisp attacks Ricki (doing no damage), seemingly out of an instinct to help the other elemental.
Guards, remember your training. Specifically, part 2 of article 5 of the Essential Rules and Regulations, which clearly states: When finding yourself in a dark part of a dungeon, confronted by enemies of unknown quantity and quality, yell out for help. LOUDLY.
Glory to the Emperor.
How about we dress the new guy in turtle-armour? or Mend. But I suppose super-healing-turtle-armour should be more effective
edit: sidenote: we seriously didn’t finish off those guards and focused on items? now we’ll have even more guards in one group, probably exactly right on the next turn 🙁 GTFO?
We gambled that we could recruit immediately and run away. We lost…
For any plans, please remember this:
Each Sword Guard does 3
Justicar can debuff for -2 Def or attack with 6 (and eliminate darkness).
Wisp does 3 fire
Lara is at 15 def (16 next turn)
If Lara moves to Entrance, she could be hit by all 4 sword guards, justicar and wisp for a total of 21. That will kill her.
If she gets there safely, she can tank the justicar and 2 guards as long as the other 2 don’t chase Lara to entrance… Its very risky.
If she tanks just 4 guards and justicar, she can out heal their dmg with her armor until the justicar debuffs her… then she’s screwed.
At this point, we can try dragging our friend somewhere safe and heal, but if that doesn’t work we’re gonna have to leave them behind and lure guards away from entrance so we can escape safely. I’m out of other ideas.
Based on the text, it looks like wisp targeted Ricki cause she was closest to the elemental. I believe they will continue trying to defend the elemental and do should have no reason to target Lara.
Plan: Last ditch effort to save our new friend and get out alive.
Lara: Equip Armor. Carry/Drag the Elemental bottom left room.
Amad: Heal the Elemental with wand of mend. Move bottom left after.
Ricki: Talk to Elemental and tell them we’re friendly but they need “come with us if they want to live”. Move bottom left after.
No idea if this works so we could just we wasting action. Ricki can always circle round from behind later if need be.
If dragging them to safety doesnt work. Then we will have to abandon them.
Plan: Hold the line.
This plan forgoes healing the Elemental 1 turn so we can take out a guard and make it safer all round for future turns. With 1 guard less, Lara can tank safely.
Lara: Equip Armor. Move left and Bite the Justicar in the face.
Amad: Attack the healthy guard
Ricki: Attack the healthy Guard
Ricki’s Shroom: Attack the healthy guard. (18 dmg total)
I don’t want to have Lara sting the guard from ceiling because I feel there’s a higher chance of them ignoring her which would be disastrous.
Just a reminder for voters, LSN has told us that guards will focus fire the character with the least visible defense. Right now that’s Amadeusz with a whopping
02*. The only time this rule has ever been broken has been with Justiciar Patrols causing all the guards to target Ricki.Lara has 11 visible defense. There’s no world where the two sword guards in the center room focus fire her instead of Amy or Ricki.
Amad has 2 visible armor (greaves and gauntlets), but the point stands
If there’s problem with Amad, maybe he could end his turn on the upper level, above the battle ground, and hurl zeus-style lightning via the hole in the floor. Current two guards might follow him, one hopefully dying on the way up, and one left should be safe for Amad for next turn.
For the just-arrived guards that will enter this room, this should be “a new room” (they were never here yet!) so if we don’t attack them immediatelly, they might stand in awe pondering wtf happens here and shouldn’t be able to immediatelly follow the guard(s) that go up after Amad.
The newly-come Justicar could guide them and screw everything up, IF he can do it immediatelly after entering “a new room”..
I have no good proof nor verified rules to back this optimistic vision though :/
Wolf-mode cant use weapons.
