Dungeon 13 Turn 54
————
Lara runs past the winter wolves and along the ceiling, absorbing all of their attacks, then opens the trapped chest. Unfortunately the wolves follow to continue attacking her and set off the floor trigger, so the chest goes off twice, hitting Lara in the face with two blasts from an icy wand. She takes 3 damage due to the debuff she receives, but recovers it back from her armour. She takes the (depleted) wand as her reward.
Lara then leaves the room and heads left.
Amadeusz and Cordy attack the justiciar while Ricki readies the elemental heart. All three guards turn and attack Amadeusz, dealing 3 damage before the justiciar can be knocked out. The elemental marauder, along with its wisp companion, seems to target Cordy at random. Together they deal a whopping 7 damage.
Cordy has been slain.
…Sort of. You can grow another one later.
All five of Cordyās mushroom pets flee the dungeon in terror. All of Cordyās items are dropped on the ground nearby.
Alarmed at the situationās downward turn, Ricki throws the elemental heart at the marauder in the hopes of calming it down. It appears to fight against the enchantment, burning away much of its unstable power in the process.
Whatās left behind is a human-sized fire elemental that appears to be too tired and weak to pose any threat. Ricki gets the impression that they werenāt at all in control of their actions up to this point, at least judging by the shackle around their neck.
But will the Guard see it that way?

Poor Cordy. If we grow another one, we should give them a break from dungeoning. Lara, too. She ought to rest after her near death experience. If we’re shooting for the Amadeusz Bond, we can technically bring anyone without worrying about Bond at all–but we should bring people we want to see eventually gain Bond, so that they Level Up and are strong enough to face the trials ahead. We won’t be able to give Bond to everyone due to the limited number of dungeons, according to LSN, but maybe we can get Mac and Kamau there in addition to Ama, at least. They only need two more Bond.
Hopefully we aren’t planning on doing Cordy and Lara AGAIN.
I actually wonder if we can get more dungeons if we raise enough money for LSN on Ko-Fi, after we get Sue. It would make sense. If you pay him enough to support him doing this, he gives you more content. I think that’s fair. Ultimately, the number of dungeons is up to him, though.
It would be nice to potentially max out all the characters with Bond, though. Amadeusz really threw a wrench in all that by being sketchy, but now that we’re halfway there, I’m madly curious. I do wonder if it’s going to be the only Bond that results in a Bad Ending, though…and it would be fair and make sense since the only way you can achieve Max Bond with Ama is if you disregard the other characters’ warnings and neglect everyone else. Now that we’re nearing the end of this dungeon, I’m eager to see what the Intermission holds in store for us.
Yeah, if any character has an unavoidable bad response to bond (still don’t think one will), I would bet on it being Ama.
I finished up the second to last goal on Ko-Fi. Maybe if there is potential for more dungeons to be available, it might change up peoples’ strategy and we won’t be picking the same three characters for every dungeon. The defeatism at lack of dungeons has made it so we’re no longer willing to explore the other characters. Hopefully my donation can persuade things to go down a different path.
I could actually understand Ama being the only true Bad Ending Bond because you’re essentially sacrificing Bond with everybody else to get it.
I got fooled by the Lara Bad Ending fake out (after she transforms but before Ricki catches up with her and gives her a smooch) and nearly rage quit, not because of the Bad Ending itself, but because it takes away the incentive to explore other characters from a gameplay standpoint. But if Ama resulted in a Bad Ending, it would be the only Bond Bad Ending that would feel fair from a gameplay standpoint because you’re essentially *abandoning* everybody else’s Bond.
But it does give Ama’s Bond a sort of Secret Ending flair that feels intriguing and definitely piques my curiosity. Plus Ama is a recycled character, so you have to wonder if he will show up in an entirely separate game by LSN, but with alterations we made based on the Secret Ending. So it’s one of those Bad Endings I don’t mind if we explore, because a) we’re already halfway there, might as well finish the job, b) it feels “rare,” and hard-earned, and c) Ama is mysterious and interesting, so it would probably still be an interesting ending.
I still feel like Ama is by far the least worth it character to explore.
Hmm.
If we grow another Cordy, we should use mushie#45 as the candidate. After this dungeon it will be ‘medium’, so it has to survive 2 dungeon visits more
We’re going to need a lot of luck here. Next turn new patrol comes so here’s hoping for a miracle.
With cordy down we lost a lot of DMG so we have two options:
Push through the new patrol
Kite them from exit and use the red pipe or hole to get behind them with Ricki and exit.
I wonder if the elemental can help us in some way. Seems weakened from their enslavement, though. They’re still not officially a character, so we have to be careful not to exit before this is made official. Ricki ought to talk to them and offer to help them escape, at least.
Plan: prep and pray
Ricki: talk to our new friend. Ask if we can help get them out of here. Tell them to ignore the guards and grab all the items off the floor to help them survive.
Amad: pick up everything that our friend didn’t grab. Store great helm on golly, drop the crowstone, meat, oven mitts and helmet to make room if need be. Grab Midas gloves, money pouch, the gold, and the life dragon robes, wand of mend, staff of turning if you have to choose.
Lara: unequip armor. move left. Move up. Action move right to central chamber. Take note of what you can’t see in the entrance room as you pass by (t55 patrol)
This gets our most essential items in our hands safely. Hopefully new friend will grab everything else but we don’t know so I’m securing the valuables.
Depending on what our new friend does and how the new patrol looks, we can either have Lara tank the t55 patrol and give us time to clear t50 patrol then push for exit or kite them away from exit and have Ricki use a pipe to get behind them and exit.
Farewell, sweet Cordy. You were a prince amongst mushrooms.
NOOOOOO! Does that mean we lose mushroom 45?!
Nope. All 5 of Cordy’s shrooms, 45 included, left the dungeon and will wait out there for us to exit… IF we exit…
Random note on the serious side this time:
1) the guy lying on the floor is ON FIRE, I bet it provides LIGHT
2) does anyone remember what Cordy had in inventory? I don’t, and the character was taken off from the list
mend wand, staff of turning, life dragon robe, midas gloves, purse, 15 bucks, bandolier, two silver rings of aggression
Ricki: Tell the elemental that he clearly has been very wronged otherwise he wouldn’t be here. And a lot of other people out there have been wronged too. The guards are clearly corrupt. People are being imprisoned and enslaved for life, he can use himself as an example, or even to just look at you! You’re Ricki! AKA Rots-In-A-Cage! And the guards have your wanted poster up EVERYWHERE! He doesn’t need to lead a revolution or anything but he’s an extremely capable individual in at least one capacity and that means he’s capable of helping people. If he really feels bad about what he’s done (killing Cordy), there’s only one way to make it right and dying wont balance the scales. It wont make the world a better place. Its just the easy thing to do. To make things right, he has to get up every day willing to try his best to help and for that he needs to be alive and free, and join your party and pick up all the crap Cordy dropped.
Amadeusz: Drop your raw meat, mittens, normal Helmet, and Crowstone. Stow your Full Helm on Golly. Pick up the Life Dragon Robe, Midas Gloves, Purse & 15 Gold, Mend Wand and Staff of Turning and a Silver Ring of Aggression.
Lara: Take off your armor. Head left, then up to get eyes on the patrol that enters, then head right to join your group.
New Friend: Be amazed by Ricki’s speech that was totally created for you and join the party and pick up the other Ring of Aggression, the Bandolier, and any of that other stuff the werewolf dropped since picking up items dropped in the same round just counts as trading.
I see what you did there Sick, and WOW.
Ok, now that he’s Small and weak, ATTACK!
LOOK AT THEM JUST LOOK AT THEM THEY’RE GLORIOUS AND BEAUTIFUL AND IF ANYTHING EVER HAPPENED TO THEM Iā *cough* I’ll be alright
I did say that I wanted to see an elemental person š
