Dungeon 13 Turn 34
————
Ricki attempts to communicate with the magicrows.
“Hi! We’re not here to hurt you!”
“Do you need something?”
The only response from the crows is more squawking. They don’t seem to be able to communicate even as cryptically as the ones in the farm did. Maybe they’re younger, or maybe there was something special about those other ones? In any case, when Ricki took a few steps closer to talk, they seemed to get more agitated.
Cordy walks up the ladder, carefully avoids the pressure plate with Ricki’s help, and pulls the lever on the pipe. The nearby winter wolves don’t take kindly to the invasion of their territory.
Ricki heads back to the left, passing Amadeusz and Lara on the way. Amadeusz joins Cordy in the room with all the dogs and birds after dropping the crossbow and deadly dagger in favour of the four crowstones.
Lara carefully sets the bomb down on the indent in the floor. Now the fuse just needs to be lit somehow.
Ricki and Lara meet in the other room, neither of them wanting to be anywhere near that bomb when it goes off.
Birds probably guarding the nest. We’re getting down to the wire so let’s leave them be
But a magic crow pet!
We can get Aleister the Crow-chick from Petmaster.I’d rather we avoid wasting turns on something like THIS.
Cordy: go loot the winter wolves chest. Move left after.
Amad: eat a piece of meat. Move left with cordy after.
Ricki:go in the red pipe. Go bottom right room and take a peek at the items on the table. Loot the chest. Go back in the pipe bottom left room.
Lara: go up. Go right. Break the last torch.
Those wolves will attack cordy anyway so might as well loot. he’s going to hit the trap as well so need to reduce incoming dmg. Amad needs to stay in this room to debuff dogs so can’t light the fuse this turn.
Lara is heading to tank and Ricki is checking out pipe.
If Ricki will end the turn at the upper right pipe she will be able to loot another chest next turn, she should also drop some items before entering the pipe the first time, in case we find something heavy in those 2 chests.
Yes, unless red-tube-clanking alerts the guards, in which case they might stay near the pipe, alerted.
I meant upper right, no guards there, from there you enter the rat hole to the chest near the crow and dogs.
But that’s a valid point for the pipe at the bottom right, in T17 the justicar got a “!” even that he was in the upper part of the room
Is Lara going to pacify the wisps?
Sting them, her poison spell 1 shot wisp and with 3 dmg output 5 wisps are needed to pass her def so she is safe.
Crows.. large 3-eyed one seems the same. Last time he wanted food, right? now there’s their nest, maybe their egg(s) are missing? Can it be that round object on the table?
Also, those smaller magicrow’s eyes.. green is poison? or healing? Maybe if we succeed in whatever thing they need, they could mend a person or two or something?
Green is healing, yes.
I guess the sphere on the table is a disassembled wand. Judging by the color of the sphere (the wand’s tip), it is not yet associated with an elemental type.
Do you feel worried by the fact that armour, dagger, and crossbow are all lying near the bomb? Do you think these will be (optimistic vision) destroyed by the explosion? or that these will be (pessimistic) sent flying, hitting/damaging random people around?
Claudious Plan but more looting ahead. Changes are in bold
Cordy: go loot the winter wolves chest. Move left after.
Amad: eat a piece of meat. Move left with cordy after.
Ricki: Drop wand lens and boots, go in the red pipe. Go bottom right room and take a peek at the items on the table. Loot the chest. Go back in the pipe upper left room. (from this room we can enter the rat hole to look another chest next turn, this is the reason dropping 3 items before entering the pipe)
Lara: go up. Go right. Break the last torch.
If you plan on going for the chest behind the 2 wolves and green crow, be aware that they will still probably attack her. Ricki only has 7 def and that green spell is unknown. Could be a paralyze or debuff spell.
Are you sure about that? they aren’t looking. Sometime i feel I’m in a guessing game, rules and map so confusing 🙁
As a party, we give the crows some food, then leave. Then some of us dress up as the guards, come back and annoy them, and the other half of us chase away the “guards” then give them more food and leave.
It will probably take like 3 turns to put on this little production but in the end we’ll have friendly crows. Maybe.
Ricki: Drop the Wand of Magic Missiles. Head through the red pipe and go to the bottom right. Swipe the stuff off the table. Head through the red pipe and go to the bottom left.
Lara: Head up, right. Break the last torch off the wall in the center room.
Amadeusz: Eat some meat, then head left with Cordy.
Cordy: Loot the chest by the Winter Wolves, then head left with Amadeusz.

Alternative to Claud’s post, but having Ricki grab the table items instead of the basic chest. Basic chest could have anything, even a wand. But there’s a wand on the table, and thieves tools that can give us an honest shot at that triple locked chest. I’d rather go for the Triple Locked Chest.
With this plan, we have a 3/4 chance of unlocking the triple.cheat. I like it!
….is the fuse going to go off on its own?Doesn’t it need to be lit by ATLEAST a fire spell?
Also, can I ask how we’re going to heal Cordy?Lara can just eat the steaks,I don’t know if Cordy can do the same since –no mouth– (although he did “splash” a potion on himself in the Well.
Lara and cordy cannot eat steaks. We will have to choose between Lara or cordy who to heal with wand. I prefer lara
If things get desperate, Cordy can always eat his pets
I mean, *their* pets. Sorry, Cordy.
It’s okay.I’ve seen everyone else call Cordy a male, even if mushrooms can apparently have 1500+ different genders.
That’s not hyperbole.I can’t remember where I heard this first,but it’s true.As if fungi weten’t alien enough as-is.
