Dungeon 13 Turn 33
————
Cordy runs away from the death wisp, while Lara runs over and attacks it with her poison spell. The wisp bursts, but it does 3 unblockable damage to Lara first.
With the group of magicrows gone, Ricki is free to unlock the door (finally throwing away some lockpicks in the process) and head to the right. Amadeusz throws the imperial plate armour down onto the barely-noticeable indentation on the floor, but this does nothing. If he wants to break the floor (if he even CAN) he’ll need a way to exert more force. Or else specialized digging expertise of some kind.
Cordy reads the note by the extremely locked chest.
“With only one item left, and creature experimentations having been focused on other areas, the item is to be kept locked up so it may be used elsewhere. They are very rare and not worth wasting on anything less than a solar guardian.”
The last (?) room of the dungeon features a bunch more magic animals and guards, as well as a bunch more weird machinery and (of course) a wanted poster with Ricki’s mug on it.
The group of magicrows nearby start kicking up a fuss as soon as Ricki enters. However, they don’t immediately begin charging their lasers, but instead start cawing frantically, as if in warning. Could it be that they don’t actually want to fight…?
YES! Pipe valve is accessible here. We flip that last one, the other and get to main tank. As much as I want to loot, new char takes priority
The goal, written on Turn0,does mention a MINIMUM of 100g in assorted magical items.I believe the Crowstones might work, combined with whatever the Elementalist has in his/her pockets…But if we leave without completing the goal,we might not level-up.
The requirement is Wands, staves and accessories. I dont think the crowstones count (consumable) but we do have the wand gloves, oven mitts, grounded boots, Healing wand, magic missile wand, wand holster and Skeleton Staff. We have the items, just need ricki to exit with 100 gp (or have an ally with her at the exit with the amount)
Well, we do need to retrieve that staff, actually. But it’s more or less on the way out.
Ricki: talk to the crows. Point out the pressure plate to cordy when he comes in. Move left after.
Lara: move right. plant the bomb carefully for maximum DMG. Stand clear after.
Amad: pick up the crowstones. Drop the crossbow and dagger to make room. Use the non-aoe fireball on the bomb from a safe distance if you can. Move right after.
Cordy: move lower right. Avoid the pressure plate and flip the pipe lever.
Cordy Lara and mostly wolf can’t talk. So Ricki is our diplomat. I don’t expect all of amad’s actions to work but it doesn’t hurt to test. He debuffs dogs on right after just in case
After this, we focus our efforts on clearing the tank wisps, flipping the last lever and exploring the bomb room. 7 turns left!
So, in the past when we’ve tried to explode something in a space and have people pass through that space in the same turn, it has not gone well.
Amad and Lara can both take the explosion if that happens. That said, the explosions in the past are involved in combat and movement is restricted
I was going to suggest Lara,Amy (+maybe Cordy) just SMACK the trapdoor really hard. The combined damage would be greater than the Golem Bomb’s.
New thought: If the golem bomb does AoE and Cordy walks by it, we’re risking all of his Shroomies at once… Seems like an unwise risk to save one action.
Also, I doubt we can even pickup and use stone but thought it would be nice to test
I think if we were just trying to use the Fireball from the floor onto the bomb it’d be fine, but since we’re just picking up all the crowstones we wont be able to use one immediately. Which is fine.
Do you think we should state that Ricky and all other chars should stay far from the bomb? i.e. Cordy should not end his turn near the entrance of the room but rather pet the dogs and take a cold shower?
Very much no to the dogs thing. If turns behave the way they always have so far, Cordy would take damage from being near the bomb at any point in the turn, then also from the dogs. Better to have it be just one.
Might be worth specifying that one character, but only one, stand directly on top of the trap door during the explosion. That way that person will give us eyes on the next room. Should be someone with at least 10 defense, though. Due to the risk of AoE popping all Cordy’s minishrooms, that’d be Lara.
Attack the crows
FUCK no!Crows are adorable.
Why would 2 people disagree with me on this!?
Search within your feelings. You know it to be true.
It’s because you persist in responding to
IMDB’sIMBD’s jokes as though they were serious suggestions.Container. Beaker. Tubes. Small bottle on the end of the process.
This lab on the top is for making potions out of wisps.
Can we use it to either free the Elementalist,or complete the Primary Goal of 100G worth of magical loot?If not,we should just smash it.
Do you find that haystack odd? Burn it? Search it?
And that three-eyed magicrow we already met once?
Possibly a crow nest?
Do NOT go near it,antagonising those crows ain’t worth it.
This could be a different one, but yeh. He’s presumably sapient and able to communicate in a sense. He probably wants shinies in exchange for safe passage and maybe a gift, if what the notes are saying are anything to go by.
Also if what happened last time is anything to go by, he may attack us and/or the new character if shinies are not provided quickly enough.
Oh.. content of the that table are … weird. Lockpicks, ok. But glass ball and a stick? DYI wand creation kit?
It’s probably something for the Elemrntalist. The Ko-Fi art shows them switching between FIRE/ICE,so their gimmick might change the type of spells in wands/crowstones.
Same plan for the most part, but we don’t blow up our whole team. Explosion timings are tricky, remember the two traps earlier?
Ricki: talk to the crows. Point out the pressure plate to cordy when he comes in. Move left twice after (to the red pipe)
Lara: move right. plant the bomb carefully for maximum DMG (on the flimsy floor). Move left.
Amad: pick up the crowstones. Drop the crossbow and dagger to make room. Move right.
Cordy: move lower right. Avoid the pressure plate and flip the pipe lever.
Do not explode this turn. Also change up movement a bit, so Lara is closer to the tank and Ricki can grab shinies in the new room next turn.
If you can edit, have cordy end his turn to the right of the pressure plate so we don’t need Ricki to avoid next turn
Edit: Cordy: finish turn on the lower level, as far as you can from birds (still avoid the pressure plate)
Can’t edit the post properly anymore
I think we will need to give the crows something, like last time we met them. maybe the glass ball and the stick?
Plan: looting (lets get the last thing in the chest!) and preparing to use the bomb and blow the middle chamber/prison.
Ricki: move left, drop lock pick next the 3 lock chest and left again. enter the red pipe and choose down right. Examine the table.
Wolf: drop midas gloves and move left, pick the scroll and the staff.
Lara: lets clear some wisps so when the tank explode our new guy will be safe. Drop your bomb, move up and right, equip tower shield, sting wisp
Cordy: Go grab the torch to activate the bomb. move left then up.
I agree with the looting part,we DO need to finish the Primary Goal.
Primary goal is more or less done. We just need Ricki to go retrieve the staff she dropped. I didn’t math so I don’t know if we’re /quite/ at 100g, but we’re close enough that we should be able to achieve the goal without any additional effort.
We’re well over 100g, actually, even without the staff:
35 grounded boots
40 wand of magic missile
40 wand wielder gloves
40 wand of heal
9 oven mitts
164 total
We need a staff to win.
I know. I wasn’t suggesting we leave without it, just pointing out that we don’t need to collect any other items – once we retrieve the staff we’re good to go. In fact, we can safely ditch a wand and/or a pair of gloves/boots if we come across more tempting loot on our way out of here.
Wisps are up-right-right from Lara
The map is so confusing XD
Agreed. It’s hard not having that map-making-guy here in the comments.
7 turns before a tougher patrol, everyone. The 3rd might not be defeatable.Smash those beakers, open the chests, save the Elementslist.Unlesd those crows in the corner can help us,just leave them.
How should we open that Trapdoor? The guy above me said “Golem Bomb”,but I was going to suggest a combined attack from Amy & the Siegesword. We can use the bomb on the beakers,or the Elementakist’s glass prison.
With the bomb lara holding, 1 action to place it, one action to activate with fire.
■■■IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!■■■
Mr.Stampylongnose, the 2nd most well-known nimbat, has recently released a recreation of his Minecraft server on the Minecraft Marketplace.
So now,you can explore every building & minigame that has been constructed over a period of 10 real-life years & 700+ episodes,at your own PC.
No,it does NOT have anything to do with the comic, but if your child/teenagerhood was anything like mine, then this is important to you because of the memories!
…let me introduce you to ADOM Classic… or TotalAnnihilation (because Starcraft is just silly)… and we can go on like that.. anyways, you’d better drop that info on Discord, not “spam” here (although we can live with it 😛 but to be honest, when I saw that post, first reaction was “where’s delete/report” because it LOOKED like a typical spam bot message until I read the last line)
I must’ve mentioned once already that I don’t use Discord,& this Tab is right between 2 Youtube tabs on my Samsung,so I saw Stampy’s video within the second I dwitched.
Total Annihilation looks incredible from what I’ve seen of it on Ssethtzeentach’s channel, but I don’t have the time to play a full round inbetween what I’m already doing.
Also,is THAT why I got 5 downvotes for gushing about a piece of my childhood?Because it “looked likr a bot”?
I haven’t seen ANY bots here, but I did encounter many on YT last August.
