Dungeon 5 Turn 15
————
The party continues fighting. Ricki knocks out the already-wounded thug with her heavy blade, while Lara and her spider take out the tall human. All but one of the thug’s remaining daggers then breaks on Kamau’s armour.
“I TOLD you it was a bad idea to try to take over the lower room!”
Kamau still feels weakened, but with so many opponents falling, he takes no damage.
Since those guys below don’t look like joining the fight, I think that now is finally a good time to unequip the bucket. Remaining thugs can’t deal enough damage to hurt Kamau, but still can break the bucket if they get lucky.
Kamau: unequip the bucket, interpose.
Ricki and Lara: attack the thug with dagger.
Spider: attack another thug.
Do we need interpose at this point? We have like 4 damage from these guys.
Kamau: Remove bucket, attack an unarmed thug.
Ricki and Lara: Attack the thug with dagger.
Spider: attack a third thug.
EDIT: Is Kamau wielding a weapon? We need to make sure he’s got a weapon ready, I think.
Please make Kamau use his longsword.
He has swords. Just edit to tell him to swap the shield for the longsword or Kamau’s Hilt before attacking.
We want the longsword just to be extra sure. 9 dmg took out a halfling last time so if Kamau uses the longsword he will have 4 if he has lost 1 atk from the Ninja’s poster (like he lost 1 defense) which will add up to 9 with the spider.
Modifying Inlaa’s plan a bit.
Kamau: Remove bucket, attack an unarmed thug with longsword.
Ricki and Lara: Attack the thug that is wielding a dagger, with your current weapons.
Spider: attack the thug Kamau is attacking
That should guarantee us two kills.
Oops, I meant knockouts, going to respect Kamau’s wishes.
Did the guy whos dagger broke first even try attacking? XD
We get only one image per turn usually, so it looks odd, but the daggers are specifically described to break upon attack, so yeah. Try he did 🙂
He probably tried, but between his damage not mattering if he did attack and looking like he was just chewing out the other Reds, I just had to ask/point that out. 😛
> “I TOLD you it was a bad idea to try to take over the lower room!”
So, it’s where all their equipment got rusted, eh?
> Magic poster
It seems to be stuck on the wall (or mid air). I wonder if there’s Kamau’s face on it. If we had more space, I’d say we take it with ourselves as a memento, instead of tearing it apart 🙂
Might be worth being careful if that’s the case. Is that big yellow thing in the room below a Rust Monster?
If that’s a Rust Monster, that thing needs to be avoided. Period.
Yes, it is a rust monster. We can’t completely avoid as it is likely it is protecting a quest item. But we shouldn’t bring any metal to that room again. We were warned.
Feels so satisfying that it’s not our equipment that breaks.
Call on the unarmed thieves to stop fighting and surrender. Point out that they’re going to get sliced and diced by the heavily armored knight and have their organs liquefied by the giant spider if they don’t.
A better idea is to tell them they work for us now. Join us or die.
Kamau could call: “Surrender yourselves!” (should know how to do that as former guard) while continuing to knock out people until they either surrender or are all knocked out.
Except they’ve probably noticed that we haven’t been killing anyone. “Join or wake up later with a splitting headache” doesn’t quite have the same ring 🙂
If this plan works, it would save time and give us a chance to ask some questions, like what’s up with the safe.
On the other hand, they might un-surrender when the rest of their gang returns.
Best plan might be to let them surrender, pump them for information, and then knock them out.
It’s called a bluff. Jeez. Adventurers do it all the time. These thugs expect everyone to want to kill them.
Does reading count as an action? If not:
Lara: Read the signs by the ladder.
