Dungeon 5 Turn 16
————
Lara and Ricki knock out the last knife-wielding thug, while Kamau switches to his offensive loadout and works together with the spider to take out another one. He feels a little strange fighting alongside one of these things, but he’s starting to get used to adapting to things like this quickly.
Kamau also notices that his attacks don’t seem to be as effective as normal.
Ricki and Lara: Attack un damaged bandit.
Kamau and Spider: Finish what you started (attack damaged bandit)
Ricki: Give Lara (1) health potion. Go Grab one set of Thief Tools (just in case) and try to open safe.Kamau and Spider: Finsh bandit you attacked last turnLara: try to reason with last badit that he has no reason to fight and he should give up since it’s lost cause and his friends won’t even know, he can lie down and pretend we knocked him out.If he doesn’t agree bonk with Sword.Access to safe is still walled off sadly.
Oh,
why are we even doing this then 🙁
Ricki and Lara: Attack the last thug here
Kamau: Climb down the ladder and Interpose
Spider: Climb down and attack the ninja
Kamau has
1110 def, so he should be fine unless the ninja can come up with 4 atk (including having an attack greater than 1) to crack himSpider’s only got 3 def, though, and the ninja’s probably smart enough to recognize that.
While Kamau interposes, nobody should be able to attack his allies. But do Ninjas have to play by the rules?
“Interpose: In place of attacking, can prevent enemies from targeting nearby allies.”
Gets me thinking: What if the Ninja attacks Ricki or Lara, who would be not nearby?!
Let’s risk it, he should not cause 5 damage. If we want to
lootcheck the chests of the rust monster for doll, ball, ring,… and finish the blue gang and check their chest and the safe and get the items to smif and kids (and rug ball to dog), before turn 30, we are on a tight time schedule. The Ninja doesn’t have DungeonEyes, and has no idea how large our team is. If Kamau and Spider go down, the Ninja has no reason to suspect any Lara or Ricky being up there in behind.
Also, if we want to later try out that Owlbear, we NEED to get rid of this “poster” thing.
He doesn’t have dungeon eyes and yet he somehow was able to target Kamau.
Suggestion: put kamau back in defensive loadout with shield and bucket
It won’t take all four of us to take out those last two thugs, but sending just half the party down to attack the next group is risky. So:
Ricki: Talk to the thugs. Suggest that they surrender and ask them what the deal is with the safe and the movable wall.
Lara, spider and Kamau: Knock the thugs out after Ricki’s done talking to them.
And if reading doesn’t count as an action (not sure), someone should read the signs by the ladder too.
Nice idea. Probably last chance to get some intel from them. We can use Lara’s infamous outfit to add some additional fear factor.
Regarding dealing with Ninja, I’d actually send Kamau and one more person there, and keep the rest above in case the Ninja tries to escape (which they are good at – imagine classic smokebomb&run trick – it would blind Kamau, but he would be caught above with no problems (also, the Ninja has the last torch there, so the trick may even be: toss a smokebomb AND put off the torch for added darkness))
Kamau and Spider: attack the remaining thug.
Lara: read the signs.
Ricki: move down, ask the kobold if he knows anything about safe and rust monster, move up.
I think it would be better to attack that group with our whole team at once. A spider can’t deal much damage on it’s own, so sending him with Kamau down is almost useless and quite risky.
Kamau: Switch back to your shield and bucket then go interpose against the group below.
Lara: Attack the remaining thug.
Ricki: Attack the remaining thug.
Spider: Attack the blue goon while Kamau interposes.
Interpose, you mean? 😉
Fixed
Funfact: we have allegedly-rust monster, and a safe. Made of metal. Lots of metal.
Ya’ll wanna test if Rusty can open it? 😀
edit: otoh, we probably won’t be able to push it and drop down to the monster. Last time we failed pushing a closed chest, and safe will probably resist even more. To do this experiment, we’d have to lure the monster up to the safe.
The safe has legs, it isn’t a sealed chest stuck to the floor with Dungeon logic. I wouldn’t be surprised if we could move the safe on its own, especially for the cartoon trope of dropping a safe on someone.
I like that idea a lot actually.
but only once we are ready to fight it and escord Kobold out of room just in case.
That’s actually a great idea. Only stumbling block is getting it over the first ladder but let’s see what happens next.
Hmm, if we take the last torch off the wall then the humans won’t be able to see. That won’t help with rats, the crow will probably see in the dark, and the monkey probably needs light.
Also, I’m back. Have updated observed enemy stats.
Ricki: Check out the gray wall near the safe in the room to the right, then come back.
Ricki and Lara: Attack remaining thug in this group.
Kamau: Give boots to Lara, go down and attack the bluman thug using sword. Take a look at the poster on the wall.
Spider: Attack bluman thug with Kamau.
There’s 4 attack of weapons, 2 from thugs, and unknown from ninja. Spider HP doesn’t count for Remorse, so let’s see how the Reds split attacks. Kamau might also take a parting shot from an unarmed thug. I’d kind of prefer to take damage here, for a chance at Counterattack and exact numbers on ninja Atk.
Opening up inventory in case Kamau can take the wanted poster for himself. I’ve a feeling it may be destroyed when taken down, though.
