Hm,the new page doesn’t really have anything to talk or joke about(UNLESS your name has the words MINSTREL and SPIDER in close proximity)…think this might be a good time to start figuring out who to send on the expedition to the Research Station + new Level-ups.
■RICKI: Obviously can’t go WITHOUT HER!She should keep her current loadout,but switch the Bat Hide Armor for Wolf Hide Armor & take Lazuli as a pet.She should also grab the 3 Imbued Skulls to throw as distractions,because that’s their purpose (I also want the Magicrow Whistle,but I assume it was sold).She’ll be a decent DPS,& can steal a better weapon from the mooks.
-Her next ability should be Backstab for increased DPS or Steal for…well…pilfering.
■KAMAU: The tankiest tank that ever tanked.He should wear the Crabplate (because it has just 4 ENC compared to normal Platemail’s 5) & take the Big Shield (Tower Shield is overkill) and Daisy for a pet (stat boost).Since we’re going to a MAGIC Dungeon,I assume there’ll be some annoying bullcrap like DEF-bypass or mind control,either as a gimick or Turn 50 Punishment,so a potion too.
-At this point,we improved him so much that he wouldn’t even NEED any new abilities,but Dauntless 2 is a good choice,with Heavy Strike & Adrenaline tied for 2nd place.

■LARA: 2nd best tank due to Siegesword & Drider.We might put her wall-climbing abilities to use (assuming there’s a lot of vertical stuff) AND if we find any Enchantment Scrolls,she has the HP to spare.She should take Siegesword (no duh) & either the lesser or greater Crit Greaves.We can grab better armor from the dead Imperial mooks we ice.
-As previously stated,her abilities are shit.We already took ICGAW & the only useful one is an upgrade to Venomous Sting.When will we be in a situation where we need to use Drider Bite instead of her signature Venom Siegesword?
■MACADAMIA: man,I feel sorry for this poor guy,he JUST wants to go back home.His current loadout is fine,& he can put his ring materials in Golly.I’m more worried about finding any decent armor so he doesn’t get flattened.
-Dig might just be the best thing ever.Breaking any floor/wall within a room (in exchange for a 7g pickaxe)would’ve been so useful in the Manor & Well.Scamper MIGHT be decent.
■LOHK: She is really useful,but underutilised .Plus,it’s stated that the Research Outpost will be extra difficult right now,so I’m a bit worried about taking her (though,credit where credit is due,she survived 2 Dungeons while being the weakest character).Her Cane can replicate a spell twice,so with a Venom Barrage Wand,she can deal 24 DMG to a target,enough to kill most of the things in the ENEMIES tab up there.She also comes with a free HP potion & ammo-less ranged attack.We just need to find a good chestpiece/shield for her,along with a tank-y pet.
-Honestly?I really don’t know which Ability she should unlock next,since she has so many useful ones.Maybe Rechannel or Herbal Tea II,I’m really not sure.We should try taking her more often.
Lohk’s level-ups are really good. She can already destroy a wand to unlock its power and she can get the same for a staff or accessory as a level-up:
Master Accessory: Can destroy a magic accessory to unlock its ability.
Master Staff: Can destroy a staff in order to unlock its ability.
All of these ‘Master x’ abilities could be VERY useful at the Research Outpost and help compensate for her low ENC capacity. She seems like a very good choice to bring to the Research Outpost if/when we go there, since she can use items we find and then Master them. If we are offered another dungeon that we can do before the Research Outpost we may want to do that first and bring Lohk to get another of those ‘Master x’ abilities first.
For any dungeon we bring Lohk she should have the Potion Bandolier, since she starts with a free healing potion if able to carry it.
■BOTANYA: YES,the next Dungeon will have FIRE,which she is weak to.But hey,we didn’t take Coccyx to the Well,even when he’s immune to poison,so THIS isn’t any dumber.Plus,said fire DMG can be negated with the Fire Robe & Magma shield.She should also take the Pan Pipes orMend Wand to make her more useful.Maybe one of those Golem Bombs too.
-Like Lohk,she has so many good Abilities to unlock!Petalporter can obviously teleport,& the Beanstalk acts as a ladder for the whole party.But the best is Vine Wall,to act as area denial to any pesky Demonic Spiders we come across.
■AMADEUSZ: who’s a good boy?Not HIM,because he’s SKETCHY!I don’t really want to take him,because he prevents Bond points,but he IS still powerful.Maybe he’ll be more powerful once we get Kamau to max Bond.He can take whichever armor he needs to not die.
-If we want to go for “combat medic”,Energetic Jig,if we want to go for DPS,Rend or Bloodlust.Extra NOTEs would also be nice.
■CORDY: A masso’spora (heh) that has a very niche use.He can act as a retroactive DPS/tank with his many minions,& he can also still use wands.I don’t have a lot to say for him,besides wondering about his history (An ASTEROID!?) or opinion of the group (he listened to Ricki to spare a mook)…
-Rot,so he doesn’t need the Cobra Hood,or Spore Bomb for AoE,or the ability that gives him a “thorns”-type of effect whenever someone hits him.
■COCCYX: man,this guy is half as unlucky as Mac,which is impressive.We’ll have to take him sooner or later,& if we take Kamau aswell,we won’t have to worry about Cyx being insta-killed.Since Lohk & Tanya are the only ones with a good healing spell (AKA not exclusively for 3HP or below),we can also see if they can heal him,since Cyx can’t drink potions like everyone else.He should take 18 arrows & give them to Golly,+ the Tower Shield & Longbow.
■■My suggestion for the party is:
Ricki (+ Lazuli),Kamau (+Daisy),Macadamia(+Bigshroom),Coccyx(+Golly) with 3 Imbued Skulls & Golem Bomb [This composition has more DPS & DEF]

However, I’m curious where the Potion Bandolier on the items list wcame from:

That potion bandolier looks really handy but I don’t see it on Paws list. It looks like we have one stored at the manor, but those graphics can be difficult to interpret. Anyone who carries a potion into a dungeon should have that bandolier, and it would be good to bring even if we don’t take any potions with us since we usually find at least one and it lets someone carry up to three in one slot.

2.IIRC we got the bandolier from the Contested Caravan,& Lara was the one who picked it up.I don’t know when the Magicrow whistle disappeared,but I am guessing someone voted to sell it.
I’m not sure what happened to my first comment/post about where we got the Imbued Skulls (that one had links to the two pages). I edited it shortly after I first posted it to add the second link and more details then when I saved the edit a red message about it being ‘waiting for approval’ appeared by it, but it was still visible (to me, and apparently to you too, for at least an hour or more). I made a second post with a short version of the answer without the links just in case the first one disappeared, which it has by this morning. I don’t know if the links to the pages were the problem, or editing the comment, or editing it too quickly after posting it, or some combination. At this point I’m wondering if the first comment will ever reappear or if ‘waiting for approval’ effectively means ‘gone forever’ like the the comment I made during the poisoned well that I apparently edited into oblivion seems to be.
Hmmm, after I submitted that comment I could see the one that is ‘waiting for approval’ again, when I couldn’t see it earlier, but then later I couldn’t see it… very weird. I’m going to include the text of that first comment here just to see if the links are somehow a problem.

Good guess! Pretty much everyone agreed we should sell it – see Intermission 7 Page 5.
As for party composition, I think a great time to discuss it would be when LSN says
You can now buy and sell items, order renovations, and select your party and loadout for the next dungeon
like he did on Intermission 7 Page 5. There’s even less point in discussing future ability choices now because there’s a whole dungeon between now and when we can actually do that.
I will say, however, that we should definitely take LPOK to the next dungeon with us 🙂
As Archan said,it was from the same Crypt we got Coccyx.I want to take them because even if the skeletons die instantly,it still means we distracted an enemy for a turn.I don’t know what the gimmick for the Research Outpost is beyond “lots of magic” so I want to avoid what almost happened to Lara,& what DID happen to the gnome smith.Do you have any suggestions on party composition?
Picking a party really depends on what our goals are:
Bond? Dont take Lara, Cordy or Amad.
Loot? Dont take a Small like Lhok or Mac.
Easier? Dont take Botania (Fire Vulnerable) or Cyx.
Odds are, we want a balance of all 3, so my choice would be:
Ricki as our thief/scout/striker
Kamau for tanking/swarms
Lara for dmg and utility (wall climbing)
Lhok for elemental/healing.
This may change based on what hints/warnings we get from Amad and Paws as well as what upgrades unlock in the store/manor. So far our hints are magical creatures (mini bosses?), upped security and elemental attacks/defenses.
There was also talk on the discord about buying a second Tower shield and using the Item Press while it is on Molly. We’ll probably get a nice shield for Kamau as a result.
I think the original plan was to bring Mac because the Research Outpost would probably have lots of magical items he can use to smif rings (which are more portable than the items they’re made from, offsetting his reduced carrying capacity). I don’t know whether this outweighs his lack of effectiveness otherwise, though; we’ve already been warned it’ll be more dangerous. Still, maybe a thing to consider.
Also, we’ll probably need Kamau’s interpose if we decide to being Mac, Lohk or Coccyx, fragile as they are.

I agree,but we’ll have to be very careful with her.Even Macadamia & Cordy are harder to kill than her,AND can fight back.

Huh, “IMBUED SKULL”? I totally overlooked that item. When did we get this? Or did it just show up at Paws’ on its own?

I think we’ll see less equipment like armor and swords and more robes wands and scrolls. And potions
