Dungeon 9 Turn 15
————
Ricki and Lara finish off one of the last angry spirits, while the flytrap mauls the other, but not before Kamau takes 2 more damage. With the battle over, a strange potion drops, which Lara picks up and tucks into her bandolier. It looks kind of dubious, to be honest, but it might come in handy.

POTION OF ECTOPLASM
Consumable
Restores 5 HP to any creature when consumed, but reduces the maximum HP of living creatures by 2 until the end of the dungeon.
Weight 1, Cost 12
Ricki: Attack Skeleton 1
Lara: Leave the new potion where the broken jars were. Attack Skeleton 2
Mushrooms and Flytrap: Attack Skeleton 3
Botania: Pipe Skeleton 3
Kamau: Attack with Hilt on Skelton 4 and Cleave as many as you can (prioritizing Skeletons not being already attacked)
LSN: Draw an epic fight scene.
With Botania’s debuff Aura, these skeletons only do 1 damage a piece and will target whoever is attacking them. This means that all the remaining untargeted Skeletons would have to target a single pet to actually do some damage which is highly unlikely and doesn’t even cause remorse if it does (Botania is piping the pet’s skeleton to make this even less likely).
Our combined efforts should allow us to clear these skellies in 2 turns with the second turn having no risk at all.
Claudious – can you clarify that it’s only the shrooms and flytrap attacking and also that Kamau is using his hilt to attack skeleton 4, with cleave then landing wherever it may?
Clarified
You can’t COMMAND LSN to draw an epic fight scene! Do you know what you’re gonna get??
Death, either way.
So, Kamau’s sitting at 2 HP right now. While his current defenses make it unlikely that he’ll take damage from anything besides the bigger monsters and the incorporeal ones, we probably shouldn’t chance it in case the party gets very unlucky.
So I propose that Kamau drinks the Ectoplasm potion – losing some Max HP will suck, but it’s temporary and Kamau has a sizable HP pool to begin with. If there are some other healing options I’ve missed, those will be fine, except for the mushrooms (normally I’d be okay, but the fact that they’re also infected makes me worry that Kamau’s infection would get worse from eating them).
I think this is the plan, but only after we kill the skeletons. Right now Kamau should benefit from heroic effort because his hp is so low, so he’ll do extra damage to any skeleton with 4 or more hp. Once the skeletons are toast we’ll have Lara drop the potion for Kamau to use from the ground the following turn. Even with his hilt instead of his shield Kamau has 10 defense, and Botanya’s aroma will reduce the attack of that group of skeletons down to 10 (2 attack each reduced to 1 attack each x 10 skeletons), so we’ll be perfectly safe engaging that group.
It’s unfortunate he doesn’t have 1 more attack. With heroic effort and 1 more attack he could kill every skeleton 4 hp or less even on a cleave.
Right now he only kills 2 or less (which might still be the case)
Should we look inside the sarcophagus at some point?
Now that we can get some hp on kamau I’m all for it once we clear our way through skellies
When we opened it out said they’re was nothing in it except the wraith. I think we’re good
That just sounds like critical failure on loot roll.
Surelly next time will be better.
Especially if the tomb was defended to begin with. Obviously undefended tomb are actually traps in disguise
