Dungeon 7 Turn 7
————
Kamau hands the enhanced swiftblade to Macadamia, who briefly goes mad with power but quickly returns to his normal state of mind upon realizing that this means he’ll be expected to get close to monsters more often. Lohk casts her heal spell on Kamau, restoring 3 HP.
Meanwhile, Ricki spend some time checking out some of the nearby dungeon elements to try and see what can be done with/about them. The cluster of plants look like they could easily be pulled out of the ground, though only one at a time, so it wouldn’t be a very quick process to get all of them. Still, if they’re vegetables, this is basically just money growing out of the ground and waiting to be picked up. She isn’t sure what to make of the fact that two of the plants are slightly different than the other three, or that nobody else seems to be able to tell the difference. She gets the feeling that maybe one type or the other is dangerous in some way, but she doesn’t know exactly how.
She also looks at the scarecrow. It’s firmly rooted in the ground and doesn’t look like it could be uprooted and replaced elsewhere, nor is it really sturdy enough to climb. Ricki thinks she could easily knock it down with one quick swipe of her axe, but that would probably completely destroy it. The actual scarecrow part also looks to be very flammable.
Everyone: go right.
Kamau: interpose.
Ricki:attack a chicken.
Mac: attack the rooster
Lohk: attack another chicken, no need for the torch
Squirrel and Daisy: attack chickens that remain.
Plan is to leave veggies behind (for now) to keep murder of Magicrows away from big one.
Kamau: Move right and interpose everything. Stay by chickens
Squirrel: Attack Chicken 4
Ricki: Move Right, Attack Chicken 1
Mac: Move Right, Attack Rooster
Daisy: Attack Chicken 2
Lhok: Move Right attack Chicken 3 with cane
This should leave us with 1 Chicken and 2 Tomatoes and the Boss Crow (which may or may not be hostile).
Next turn Squirrel can finish off Chicken 4 and everyone else can engage the Tomatoes.
Either Boss crow will initiate a talk next turn or we can have Lhok spend a turn to talk to it while the others kill Tomatoes.
As for the Veggies, it is hinted that some may be traps. My guess would be the ones without the root showing (the leaf only ones) are probably bad. If we do pick the correct ones and leave the bad, it may trigger the crows to move on so we should wait on doing that. We have lots of move to run back if the path is clear when we want them
Not a command for this turn, but if King Magicrow hasn’t attacked us by the time we’ve wiped the rest of the screen, it might be worth trying to offer him one of the corn.
Are you thinking that this could be a possible pet?
Actually he thinks it might be a NPC we can negotiate with, I believe.
That would be absolutely rad, but I was thinking negotiation like siv said.
Kamau: Move right and interpose everything. Stay out of the tomato melee unless somehow that’s necessary to protect everyone.
Squirrel: Attack the rooster.
Ricki: Move right and attack the rooster.
Molly: Kick a chicken.
Mac: Move right, attack a different chicken.
Daisy: Attack a third chicken
Lhok: Move right and attack a fourth chicken with your cane.
Explanation: Stealing this wholesale from Claudius, but with the change that Ricki attacks the rooster instead of Mac, Squirrel joins Ricki on the attack, and Molly kicks a chicken. Ricki still does the most damage in our party, so we might as well direct the most damage against the enemy we know the least about. Additionally, the large distance between the chickens and the tomatoes (seriously, look at it on page 5) leads me to believe that Squirrel won’t be able to attack that group if Kamau has to move forward to interpose the tomatoes. I’d rather guarantee taking the chicken out now, (potentially wasting some damage between Squirrel’s probable overkill on the rooster and Molly doing 3 when we only need 2 on the chicken) than have a 1 hp chicken survive indefinitely and require a character action later to kill.
Granted. If possible, we need to one shot the rooster since it may buff the other chickens.
In the next room, three-eyed crow sits on a scarecrow.
We know that the scarecrow is “very flammable”.
We have torches.
How about we craft a unique item called Scarecrow Bonfire With A Well-Done Crow?
In the tiny chance it’s actually an NPC, we will probably be interrupted, since we can’t hurt non-monster things.
I’m not opposed to this plan, but for now we need to clear up the room a bit first, else we may get overwhelmed.
How about a little fire, Scarecrow! (evil cackling)
Where’s the Tin Man and the lion?
