Dungeon 7 Turn 31
————
Macadamia once again peeks out of the barn to the left. Something is about to happen in this room, any turn now, he’s absolutely sure of it.
Mac then returns to the coop and kills another rooster. Lohk uses her magic to kill another chicken, while Kamau once again finds himself trapped in the middle of a feathery maelstrom.
While this is happening, Ricki puts two more ears of corn into the feed slot of the coop. Again she hears happy clucking noises from inside, and again she feels like she did the right thing here, but still no visible effect occurs.
*removed for other plans*
Kamau can’t see, so he might miss, and Ricki lacks the damage to 1 shot the chicken without switching equipment.
Kamau: Trade inventory with Ricki
Lohk: Ray of frost a chicken.
Macadamia: Look inside the chicken coop (meaning if it leads to a new room, enter it). If that isn’t an action/possible and doesn’t put you into a new unexplored room, kill the other chicken outside the coop.
Ricki: Give Kamau the eggs, both corn spears, your shield, and your helmet. Take his Magma shield and both lenses. Store the Magma Shield on Molly so it takes up only one space, and take your bat hide armor back out and equip it. This should leave you with one open slot on Molly. Drop an onion on the floor so it can be picked up by Lohk on the following turn to feed to the pumpkin and get Macadamia out for exploring, then run two screens to the right to be ready to lens the Mammoth on the following turn. On your way, please look at the floor storage and tell us if it’s missing anything. No need to draw it LSN if nothing is amiss.
LSN was pretty explicit on the last turn that the pollen had a source and that something important is going on to the left. We likely aren’t going to be able to get back to this barn after we start heading left in earnest, so we need to be prepared to head out in force when we go left. That means getting info on the mammoth sooner rather than later so we know whether we should drop the hay bale before leaving or not.
If we want to kill the very last chicken, Kamau can do that with his hilt while Lohk holds a torch for him and picks up the onion.
I’m beginning to question whether the plan to tame the mammoth is even worth it at this point, I was not expecting the party to move further away to clear the coop room two turns ago, a room where chickens spawn indefinitely. Something Very Bad is about to happen in the room with the pumpkin next turn (or within the next couple turns) with the party’s attack significantly debuffed and a single hit away from triggering Remorse. We need to cut the party’s losses and get out ASAP with whatever veggies the party is currently carrying.
I’m pretty confident nothing is going to happen in the pumpkin room. Whatever is going on is happening further to the left than there, and appears not to have gotten appreciably closer.
Read the caption again:
That sounds like irony, actually.
My read of that, like Siv’s, is that LSN is poking fun at us for continuously checking that room even though nothing ever changes there.
FYI, LSN said on discord no 2nd turn today. So plenty of time to suggest new plans or critique existing ones.
We need to have an escape route ready, and I believe this means we have a choice of either taming the mammoth or hoping that pumpkin room will stay safe.
Taming the mammoth is the less risky option.
We have no idea if there is an unstoppable crow deathball to the left that would take too long to deal with with our increasing damage penalty
The good news re crow damage ball is that we’ve got the wand of fireball and the hunter’s bow. Both of those do flat damage that isn’t affected by the debuff.
