Dungeon 7 Turn 15
————
Lohk drops an onion on the ground, then she and the rest of the party climb the ladder to attack the corn knight with the spear. Kamau just narrowly absorbs the knights’ attacks without taking damage, while his allies decapitate their target.
Below, the chicken coop disgorges a chicken and a rooster in a flurry of feathers.
Suddenly, the ground beneath the party’s feet trembles. It is accompanied by the sound of raucous cawing, coming from somewhere in the distance, to the left…
Repeat the last turn’s plan on the other Corn.
Kamau: Interpose
Everyone that can deal Damage: Attack the Corn
Ricki: Give Molly the Corn that drops.
Maca: Pick up the Corn Spear that dropped so you can Smif it later.
If a corn cob drops at the end of the fight, should somebody pick up that, too?
Stuff gets picked up automatically, but edited to say Ricki should pick up the Corn and give it to Molly for clarity. I assumed she’d pick it up because she had the rest of the Corn, but better safe than sorry.
Plan for the next turn: everyone gang up on the flying potato monster?
Depends on if it’s the Flying Spaghetti Monster’s version of Jesus. They look like family. 😛
Seriously though, not sure. The Potato looks tougher than the Corn and I’m worried about what Abilities it might have. Depends on what other posts are made.
Crows started in the very first location, like we did. Crows moved between rooms on turn #3. We’ve seen the eyes of the mystic crow it was turn #10 and the crows stayed where they were at least till #11. Now it’s turn #15 and we hear things.
Last time we saw them, they were in the location with the tree (0 rooms away). Then there’s mystic crow location (1), then pumpkin monster (2), then here (3 rooms away).
I think the ‘trembling ground’ might be the bull coming in. Cawing might mean nothing, or the crows saw the bull, meaning it’s now 3 rooms away. I think taking a look left right now will show nothing, but IF that’s the bull coming in our wake, then it may be a very good idea to drop the hay-bale. I have no idea if bulls eat hay, but it may delay the bull at least for a moment.
EDIT: and I still think we could take a look at the coop’s drawer 😉
Lohk: Attack the remaining corn knight with your torch.
Ricki: Attack the remaining corn knight. Grab the corn cobs if they drop.
Macadamia: Attack the remaining corn knight. Grab the corn spear if it drops so you can smif it later.
Kamau: Run downstairs, grab the onion to consolidate inventory, then head back upstairs and walk right by the potato to give us vision on the next screen.
Explanation:
Corn soldiers only do 5 damage. If it targets Lohk, she’ll take 1 damage and we’ll get 1 remorse. I think that’s worth it to speed up getting vision on the next screen, given we have two directions we need to scout in. With Lohk in melee and dropping Daisy’s attack, we’ll do the same minimum damage to this corn knight as we did to the last one (adding +1 damage from the torch, -2 damage from Daisy not attacking, -1 defense on the corn knight because it doesn’t have a spear).
To be extra extra clear for LSN, we don’t want Daisy to attack for this command.
Why to the right screen and not the above screen? I only ask because it is possible the potato is based off of a Grell from D&D and might do Paralysis, which would stop Kamau and we’d lose our interpose when the rest of the party jump on it.
Thought was that it would give us an idea of if there might be a back exit from the barn, and also give us an idea of what might be on the other end of the beam. If we think it’s a bad idea someone should make a different post. I’ve unfortunately left the space where I made this post and thus can’t edit it.
I’m not sure we can go up, given the metal beam blocking the stairs. Depends on if it actually blocks, or just runs near
Hey, folks. I think what the note says is pretty clear. The chickens eat only corn, the crows will eat whatever the f*ck they can find. Why I feel that this is important:
1 – We can use corn to distract the chickens. “Oh, they die easily.” Well, yes thet do. But if that drawer is a feeder, we can put one cob there and safely enter the coop. There’s probably more than eggs in there, and who knows, we might find a way to block the exit, trapping the chickens inside.
2 – The crows want our veggies. Creepy-ass crow showed us. “In time, the crows will come looking for food.” We might find a way to leave a pile of excess veggies (tomatoes and onions, most likely) to lure them away as we leave the dungeon (when the time comes), or we might dump those extra veggies near the pumpkin so that when they land to pick the food, we can drop a flaming stack of hay over their heads.
Just my 2 cents.
feeder drawer! brillant, that sounds likely, I’d like to try that (as that includes opening the drawer and seeing what’s that and what’s inside 🙂 )
