Dungeon 6 Turn 20

————

The entire party congregates in the entrance room and works together to lift the painting down off the wall. It’s not super heavy, it’s just a matter of lifting it evenly off the hook.

Behind the portrait is a gigantic wall safe, set even higher off the ground. It looks like it will take a short character lifted by a tall one in order to reach and operate the dial, or to open the door. All of that assumes it can even be unlocked, of course.

Suddenly, the gong of a grandfather clock echoes throughout the mansion. It strikes twelve times, which is odd, as it’s clearly still morning, but not nearly as odd as the fact that there appears to be no grandfather clock anywhere in the dungeon.

Suddenly the massive portrait animates! A gigantic version of the spectre which has plagued the party emerges from the canvas, wielding a blade long enough to skewer the entire party at once! Everyone readies their weapons for a thrillingly spooky boss battle…

But instead the ghost just drops a pile of candy in front of Ricki!

Oh, also it bops Lohk on the head for 1 permadamage before disappearing back into the portrait.

“BAH!!”
