Dungeon 16 Turn 33

The party attempts to set up a strategic advantage over the vegetables. They all climb up the ladder, and while Kamau holds off the lettuce, Toaster fires on the corn knights at the same time as Botanya clumsily throws her corn spear onto the pressure plate that Ricki points out.
However, the corn knights don’t take the bait. It seems they too have been informed about the pressure plate. When it explodes, it not only incinerates the corn spear, but also appears to damage the floor. It doesn’t completely break, but it certainly seems to have been weakened.




Damn. Wasted turn.
Question: do you think the corn is going to stay back now that the trap is gone, or will they charge next turn?
If we assume they charge and they don’t then we’ll have wasted a second turn…but kamau cant interpose both groups at once…
My thoughts is have Ricki loot chest when while princess peels the lettuce. Ix can ready themselves to hurt one if it does charge. Just a thought. We have all weekend to plan
I do not think they are going to charge. They knew the trap, and did not. Now the floor is damaged, probably not-small characters stepping on it will break the floor and fall – and the corns probably are aware of it as well.
I suggest we focus on the lettuce and let the corn knights wait a bit. They knew about the trap, theu probably know what it did, and realize how weak the floor is now. The way i see it, the weak floor is just another trap. We know of it because of Ricki. And the corn knights don’t know that we know. You know?
Or, we jump over the weak floor and engage the corn knights, hoping that the lettuce will follow us and fall.

I think every one should just charge the corns and then after all the corns are gone Ricki goes in the hole to unlock the chest because it could probably be something that would help beat the gaint corn boss
The tricky thing is that we are not sure if kamau can interpose both lettuce and corn as they are far apart. If he can’t, then that’s instant remorse and possible death.

I think that may be a tricky idea, actually, to do it precisely.
The floor is weak. This probably works like a trap. It will break when hit, or when stepped on. Maybe it can survive a small(ish) characters stepping over it, but it will probably crumble when Kamau walks over it. And almost for sure it will crumble when the lettuce stands/runs over it.
This means, we should ask Ricky to point it out like a normal trap, and ask our people to jump over it, or tread lightly, one by one, something like this. The corn will probably stay afar (unless they think the floor will not collapse under them). If we get to the right side, the floor might collapse under the lettuce (described as huge thing, so probably also heavy).
This means, potentially, one less enemy for us to deal with. This also may mean, if we’re unlucky, that someone from our team can fall with the lettuce, if they fail to jump/avoid/befast enough. Lettuce falling down may also mean we don’t get the chance to finish it off, and we almost got it (though, if it dies due to the fall, it should leave its drop where it falls and dies, but you know, whatever, it’s off-screen for us, crows from afar may fly and eat it all).
Small update. I marked all rooms with the last turn we were there, and all images are from that turn like we saw them. Some more-obvious things are crossed out if they are gone since then, like corn patrol, but I have not verified which items are left on the floor/etc.
I tried to mark all known clouds with number of puffs. A cloud disappears probably at 9 puffs. I just noticed I forgot a cloud at the starting room – I think it has 2 puffs.
I also marked all remaining possible rooms left, and possible paths we currently know of.
I am strongly convinced we can’t go to extreme top-left and top-right, but technically, we could try, using gloves and climbing under the floor in our current room.
Also.. I think we’ve left one chest, bottom-left. The cloud has 7 puffs, we should be able to get it with no issues, since puffs are generated on-leaving, so 8 puffs when going down, 9 puffs when going back, and we would at this point know precisely if a cloud disappears at getting 9, or maybe at getting 10 puffs. I think we still do not know that, but I might have missed if we learned it already.
Our mission here is kill-all-corn. We know we’ve left 2 mildly-armoured ones in the right room marked T29. It has ladder down, so there’s high chance there are more corn there, or in the room right below it – especially considering it is very near to starting point, AND that it has two full-health clouds leading to it. It would be *very* weird if there were no corn in that to rooms. Most likely one of them will have the last 3rd parachute-flower.
Then, the mystery center space below the room with Botanya’s solo-chest-looting mission with three clouds. Maybe we can get there from below room “T29”, but for now, it’s unknown, aside from falling from a cloud, which we don’t want to try unless forced to.
And we’ve had T33 now, out of 50. If I count well, we have 16 turns left, and after that we’ll probably desperately need the last parachute flower, and probably we will lose 4th person for which we won’t have a parachute. Unless the CornGeneral drops something like an extra parachute. Or unless the Imp grants us safe exit under some hefty price.
Considering battle with the general and some extra walking back&forth, I’m genuinely worried we might not have time to check the Imp or check its chest.
Im hoping chest may have something to help with the timer. Kinda like the elemental heart helped us recruit Ix. That said, it is just a wish.
Here’s my thought process: if we are at top right, it take Ricki 2 turns to abandon. We’ will have eyes on the last two rooms by then and can asses our chances. I would take an abandon over losing a character.

Shroom: stay at lettuce and punch corn 1 if they get close.
Botania: ho down ladder and pick up the other corn spears. Move back up to kamau.
Golly: sty at lettuce and attack corn 1 if they get close.
Toaster: shoot corn knight 1 if they approach lettuce.
Triple locked chest could have something crucial that changes how we can complete this dungeon. Would like to know now.
If I’m not mistaken, every triple locked chest to date had a pet inside it.

Good point. For this plan I’ve added his dmg. For the caution plan it doesn’t matter since Ricki and ix together is enough.

DE is not updating on weekends. Only on weekdays, Mon-Fri. Sometimes we get more than one update per day, but that’s relatively rare during dungeons.
Please refrain from posting a lot of top-level comments and random talk. LSN needs to check them all to see if there are some action/battle-plans posted. There’s a Discord link on the top at the end of the menu bar for all the non-action-plan talks. Of course we sometimes fail to do that (i.e.: me lately xD sorry!), but please keep the top-level posts relatively clean.

I’ll usually check the site and discord every hour or so for new messages and post my 2 cents reply if I have an opinion on the topic.
Discussions are more of a ” make my case/theory/idea”, wait a few hours, reply back to anyone who replied to the post.
Back and forth discussions are sadly rare since we are all over the place geographically.
However, when there’s an update, most people on discord get notified and will check and discuss shortly after.
Updates are usually mon, wed-fri twice daily during dungeons. Or just 1 a day during intermissions. LSN also usually takes a week or 2 off after a dungeon.
