Dungeon 16 Turn 22

The entire party gathers again to attack the heavily armed corn knights and gain access to the next room. Hurrying up the ladder alerts the nearby lettuce, but it doesn’t do anything about it… yet. Kamau once again absorbs the blows from the enemies, while Ricki and the pets knock out the corn knight’s hefty defenses so Ix can go in for the decapitating blow.
In the confusion of battle, Botanya sneaks past and climbs the ladder. She’s eager to see what kind of silly cloud puzzle waits above.

She does not find a silly cloud puzzle. She’s actually a little baffled that she didn’t notice this was here ahead of time.
The nearby pea soldiers notice her intrusion and let loose a battle cry. It sounds like what peas sound like, but angrier.

Looks like that. Unless it’s Cornroach that counts to the quest, or “Stalkroach, Harvest” – because, why not, it seems to have “stalk”, so it’s a plant, right? 😀

Ok so we need to kill lettuce or it will swing at us when we go down ladder.
Paws was summoned on turn 20 so he should still be there on 24 for shopping round 2. Maybe we want more lockpicks(another flytrap to free, castle storage gate, maybe more locked stuff in castle?). Or another paw just in case? Or maybe another lens or battle supplies?
Botanya can grab corn knight loot and do that then grab her stuff back on her way back while the party clear enemies.
Botanya: Flee down from pink castle, dropping a lens behind(for Ricki to lens boss later). Loot everything from corns. To make space, drop everything else from golly and you.
Kamau: Interpose at corn knight again then interpose at lettuce below.
Princess: Bite lettuce.
Ix, Ricki, mushie, Golly: Melee corn knight
Toaster: Shoot corn knight
(the mechanics doc says Kamau can interpose multiple fights btw)

I like this plan mostly but I think botanya should keep the lens.
1. On entering the boss room, Ricki’s actions will be focused on combat for two round, but botanya’s will only use gravity staff turn 1 and have a free action turn 2.
2. We probably want everyone to enter the boss room together, because of the aforementioned staff of gravity.
Actually nevermind, botanya can not lens anyway – for some reason my mind has added a ladder there.
My concern with this plan is that it guarantees Kamau to be stuck with lettuce in this room for the next 3 turns, while everyone else has little to no actions (maybe next room has something they can do but we don’t know.)
No, lens said lettuce attack what he see and he will only see Kamau and anyone moving down on turn 24.
So we could have ix and ricki move up to start clearing castle on 24 while Kamau follow after to interpose castle. Lettuce can only see Botanya(super armored) and Kamau on 24 so it will attack Botanya since it already knows it can’t hurt Kamau.
Still not keen on wasting turns buying/selling but honestly, this is just a debate on preferences. Still want to clear all corn before T50

I’m not keen on using more turns with paws as we have 2 lockpicks (only one needed for flytrap cage) and are already tight on inventory.

If lettuce stays down, then botania can tank the hit and scout and next turn everyone can move up and we start clearing castle (with more action options for Ricki and IX)
If Lettuce goes up, then princess bites it and Kamau interposes it (and works just like Kat’s plan).
are you sure the timing works with the rule that all combat happens at the same time?
Kamau remorse out and we are giga fucked if Botanya cant use gear she gets after combat to protect her from combat when lettuce smack her on her way down to scout.
btw we already know of 3 locks(chest in bottom left, flytrap cell, castle storage door) without even seeing all the rooms
I’ll be specific with botania’s timing.
As for lock picks, I’m confident we are not going back for that locked chest.
My focus is on clearing corn and exploration.

We go to top the boss room next turn, this plan means botanya won’t be range to gravity the room.
It’s easy enough to bait onions down to melee range with ricki so gravity staff is not needed
