
Kamau finished a dungeon! He can gain one new ability from this list:
Adrenaline I: +1 Atk if HP is 5 or lower.
Dauntless II: Once per dungeon when reduced to 0 HP, regain 2 HP at the end of the turn.
Heavy Strike III: Once per dungeon can make a melee attack with +7 Atk.
Heroic Effort II: +2 Atk against enemies with twice as much HP or more.
Shield Bash: Gain an Atk bonus from a wielded shield equal to its Def bonus -1.
Throw Shield: Can use a shield as a ranged weapon, dealing damage equal to the shield’s Def bonus. The shield must be retrieved afterward.

Kamau is already a beast. With it we could only take a Shield on him and have more inventory space.
He needs his Hilt anyway, which is +5 after proficiency.
The benefit isn’t inventory space, it’s having more defense while attacking. +5 attack or +3/+6 with an upgraded tower shield after proficiency. (Upgraded actually increases the Def of the shield, so should count for Shield Bash.)
Throw Shield, for utility.
It’s unlikely to come up, but there’s not much left to pick, and his bond dungeon may be available next. Having a 4-5 damage ranged attack helps discourage enemies from sniping.
