Dungeon 14 Turn 26
————
Macadamia returns to the item pile, disappointed that he wasted his time down here.
Ricki and Macadamia meet briefly as they gather up necessary items. Ricki grabs three steaks off of the ground (much to Daisy’s interest), which Macadamia promptly replaces with three more steaks and fourteen gold coins. Macadamia then picks up the loose rings, the shocktail javelin, and the upgrade press (much to Golly’s dismay).
Kamau swats another dragon tamer off the ladder, but not before taking a 3 damage bolt of unblockable death magic to the face. His cleave fails to do any damage to the dragon rider, who also fails to do any damage to Kamau.
Botanya hangs out.
Plan. Scout
Ricki: move left. Move right (upper). Move right. Action move right and scout.
Kamau: scout up. Eat steak
Botania: move left. Move left
Mac: drop the 2 silver attack rings. Pick up the atatl. move left. Move right (upper).
With no light and those dodge rings rider has, there is little chance of kamau contributing this round to combat. Since rider cannot hurt either of them, it should be safe to run past this turn. Next turn kamau can interpose in the dark while Ricki and Mac try to take him down. We would also know if we can escape up safely when king starts moving back.
Edit: have kamau eating steak and Mac grabbing atatl. We prob won’t see many more silver rings since they are carried by riders and we know this one has dodge rings which kamau can grab if we want
I know we just had him pick up some rings, but what about switching out one stack of them for the atlat? Would make him more combat ready if we have to fight quickly.
I’m inclined to agree. We are sorely lacking in damage right now. I am just nervoua to have in join any fight even at ranged without interpose since his def is 3. Feels like we’re playing with fire
I was a bit worried about King catching Kamau by surprise, since King can move freely and Kamau can’t “scout and action-move back”.
But King clealy went left now, so I think we should have at least 1 turn to fool around even if King rushes back to entrance.
I’m just curious, did the King want to check his child and eggs, all on its own? Did Mac really waste his time on the call/horn? Or is it just narrative, as Mac doesn’t see any impact of his actions. We got these kind of descriptions often actually.
It’s possible that using the horn doesn’t make the King run to the source of the sound, it may simply make her take a run to the nest. Just a loose idea. No observations to confirm it yet.
I’m pretty sure the horn doesn’t do anything to Mommy directly. It just makes babies call for Mommy, as we saw when we lensed baby. So we kinda shot ourselves in the foot killing one baby and not finding more of them to convince Mommy to run in circles with. Here’s hoping at least one of the scoutings this turn finds another baby.
Oooh that makes perfect sense, thanks!
The item description suggests that it does:
Alternative explanation: The horn didn’t seem to have any effect because when Mac blew it, the king was already as close to him as she could get.
Is all the meat we have cooked? The color (at least in my screen) makes it look like cooked steak.
It does look cooked but I think LSN just copy pasted the cooked one we brought instead of grabbing the raw meat image.
