Dungeon 12 Turn 37
————
Amadeusz swims back down and attacks the crabs. He rips one clean out of its skull and crushes it with one mighty paw. He takes no damage from the poison or the crabsβ counterattack, only 1 damage from drowning.
Lara heals herself with the wand of mend again, recovering 1 HP.
Ricki eyes down the last ghoul as it paralyzes her again. Go ahead, keep hitting, she seems to say. It canβt keep working forever.
Cordy returns to the location of the first egg sac and uses the wand of venomous sting on one of the leftover fish there. They deal minor damage, but take no damage in return.
Holy Crap the chest is unlocked!
Not sure what worked but I’m glad it did! Sorry for doubting you on the going up the right plan.
This makes Crab King a little more viable, possibly.
All right! I suggest we send Cordy to grab that diving helmet now in case it locks up again on turn 40. Def +2 (underwater), atk +1 (underwater) and 5 turns of no drowning β we can put that to good use.
I’ll also suggest that if we do decide to go after King Crab β and if we have Ricki post near the exit, ready to abandon in case everything goes to hell β then we should do some trading first. If Amad changes back into human form, transforms Zing and Thrum, and then equips Ricki’s shield, armor, crit gauntlets and gold ring of aggression, plus the diving helmet (ditching the full helmet, cigarettes, fishing rod, and silver ring of aggression), that would bump him up him to 10 atk (occasionally 11) and 12 def.
Oh yeah, one other thought while I’m at the top of the page π If the Crab King does throw skulls at us, and they have crabs inside them β an unthinkable possibility, I know β that would effectively be an unblockable ranged attack.
If we decide to go after Crab:
Honestly lens from paws is a pretty solid idea now that we can assure one PC doesn’t take drowning damage. It might spend much of our profit this dungeon but… We could plan.
Crab is alert so any attempt to lens would result in it attacking. At that point it the info we learn may redundant (Hey! It has a grab attack! *Gets grabbed*).
Would be better to just engage in my opinion
Going to take 2 turns to get Cordy to the chest and get it opened, so may as well get a mushie on the way out.
Cordy: Sting the injured fish. Move down and end turn below the right side ladder.
Ama: Kill 1 more crab
Lara: Mend yourself again. Leave the wand in the pile.
Ricki: Remember your dodge chance.
Next turn:
Cordy: Go up and loot the puzzle chest. Send Ama the mushie you made last turn.
Ama: Double move up left and end turn in the mend pile.
Lara: Go down and kill a crab.
Ricki: Having successfully dodged the ghoul, you and Mushie finish the job!
Cordy cant attack and move. Only works for barricades and sources
Ah, right. Darn.
It’s going to be hilarious if the ghoul chest is just a potion or something.
Edit: Actually, better yet – a item suited to Cox, like Hat of Being Good At Archery.
Lara: Drop your Full Helm with the Wand. Swim right, then up, then use your Action to swim right again. End your turn above water.
Cordy: Sting the damaged Skeletal Fish again. Move to the room below if you’re not stuck in melee with the other Skeletal Fish afterward.
Amadeusz: Head up, then left and end your turn with the Wand of Mend.
Ricki: Get your head in the game man. You’re embarrassing yourself out there.

Cordy doesn’t have space for the Diving Helm, while Lara has plenty. Amy is leaving 3 Crabs behind which he, Lara, and Ricki can kill while we’re on our way to take care of Crab King/Last polyp.
What the heck was the unlock condition for the chest!?
Also,I ask again:Does Lara count as a carnivore for the purposes of healing from Raw Steaks?Because her with that helmet & Siegesword would be a good way to get rid of the gigacrab.
We wont know the chest solution until LSN tells us after the Dungeon wraps up.
As for Lara, we dont know if she can eat meat. We have to try it to find out sadly which means Lara would have to use her action which we kinda need for more important things like killing crabs.
It’s unlikely. We’ve tried feeding raw meat to spider pets in the past and it didn’t work.
Spiders famously eat blood. What if we just squeeze the raw steak into Lara’s mouth? Then we can give the actual meat to Amadeusz. Call it a value meal.
Don’t you recall the Burnt Temple & how Lara bit an enemy Drider on the arm?
We should take the helmet out of the chest and give it to the pet master as a present.
