Dungeon 11 Turn 25
————
The party gangs up to attack the Enforcer. However, she nimbly jumps off of the parapets and avoids almost all of their attacks! Only Ricki and Macadamia connect, dealing minor damage. She makes a heavy sun-powered strike against Kamau in midair, but he just barely manages to block it.
We’re in this now.
Kamau: Interpose
Ricki, Mac, Amadeusz, Daisy, Shroom: Attack!
*Insert Captain Kirk fighting music here*
Now we know evasion works against individual attacks. Also, her max def is 15, and the sun-powered attack can reach a value of 20. Yikes.
Now one doubt arises. “Heavy sun-powered strike”. “Heavy” here is a reference to the attack using the bigger damage range (3-5), instead of the lower range (1-3), or “heavy” is actually refering to a rolled 5 on the bigger range?
I’ve already upvoted Sick’s full attack plan, but for those who think “heavy” is refering to the damage range (3-5), and that Kamau will get damaged if the Enforcer rolls a 4 or 5, will make the following suggestion:
Kamau: Keep interposing with heavy shield
Mac: Mend Kamau
Amadeusz, Ricki, Daisy and Shroom: Attack the Enforcer
Please, only vote if you agree with Mac mending Kamau next turn.
Two of enforcer’s abilities have “or if in an outdoor room”.
We’re on the roof, so definitely outdoors.
Can we drag the Enforcer inside somehow? Would just going 1 level down the ladder work? Probably not, since it says “outdoor ROOM”, and we wouldn’t change the room, right? We’d probably need to do a Benny-Hill run 3 floors down to the next ‘room’.. this would mean disengaging and free hits, correct?
But in any case we managed to drag her into “indoors” area, in some miracuously safe way, it means flat -2DEF and also -2ATK for her sun-powered super attack. That’s a lot when things are “barely” on both sides.
Even if we can, its just not worth it at this point to waste a full round of attacks for a marginal decrease in her stats.
I’m re-reading the Guard Outpost before we enter the Research Facility, and making a few comments for others who re-read it. Here at D11T25 the text we got for our first turn of fighting the Enforcer says,
“…she nimbly jumps off of the parapets and avoids almost all of their attacks! Only Ricki and Macadamia connect, dealing minor damage. She makes a heavy sun-powered strike against Kamau in midair.”
From the description text I suspect that the Enforcer may be using Abilities, like the Heavy Strike I Ability that Kamau can buy and possibly the Dodgy I that Ricki can buy. There is no reason the high end opponents can’t have Abilities just like our characters do. This may be what Kamau was referring to last Turn when he said, “The real problem is we won’t know exactly what she can do unless we DO fight her. Everyone learns different combat styles, you know?”
