Dungeon 11 Turn 22
————
While Kamau continues to Interpose, Ricki, Daisy, and the mushroom attack the axe-wielding guard, knocking him out quite easily. Amadeusz attacks the next one in line, with the longsword, but narrowly fails to defeat him.
While the guards are distracted, Macadamia sneaks by them after snagging the nearby keys (labeled 1).
He finds another tiny space ending in a locked door. Well, at least there’s nothing dangerous in here.
OH THAT’S NOT GOOD
Wait, the command that won had Ama attacking the guard with the regular sword, not joining the Axe pile on
I fixed it.
Looks like someone is high on dungeon madness.
Wow, that person must need a breath mint really badly, if even all the vermin around him drop dead like this. ^_^*
Also, it looks like all the gear they got is imperial, so cost = 0. We could/should probably just skip them alltogether, but Ricki should make sure with “case”.
The sword is likely a lightsaber
Reasons to fight the lightsaber spiked shield guard:
1, he is on the way to the supply crate;
2, he has cool items we never saw before and getting the statistcs when they drop is useful;
3, he has cool items that may be useful to fight bugs or undead, even if we not keep them later;
4, we might keep the cool items if they are non-imperial (looking at you, sword).
He likely has rings
Also skipping them means goodbye to secondary objective.
How so? The secondary objective is to blow this guard post up.
The explosives needed for that might be in the chest with the 3 locks on it (in real life, it would make sense to ensure not everybody can access such dangerous items, so people in this game might follow the same line of thought) and Ricki has 2 sets of picks, so if she can preserve at least one of them after use (with careful thief), she can open it, even if we don’t have the key(s). And we haven’t even yet tried out any keys we already have on it, either.
Or do you assume that those “tool chests” contain whatever needs to be crafted into the explosives? In that case, we might already have missed our chance to fulfill the secondary goal, because one of them was in the cell with one of the persons imprisoned, and I very much suspect the “big boom” in turn 20 was the inmate using some kind of explosives to get the door open, and that in turn could mean the supply is depleted.
Edit: a typo
I’m getting strong Imperial Champion vibes from that guy. Also strong ‘hits like a friggin train’ and ‘loot pinata’ vibes.
Plan: basement first, come back later.
Kamau: attack hurt guard. Cleave
Amad: attack healthy guard. Drop platemail for reg chain drop.
Ricki: point out traps, case locked chest. Move left. Move down
Mac: Drop axe, switch to chain. Move down. Avoid traps, move left, extra move down.
The armor switch on mac is to avoid the off chance both guards take a swing at him.
Dealing with this guy will take us at least 3 additional turns and possibly jeopardize the new party member. We can come back if we have time. But there’s good loot in basement to be had.
Not reading the note allows mac to be within moving distance to unlock the basement for Ricki, who can check on golem. Both can be back to help amad and Kamau deal with skellies if we want to do that before.
Why drop the axe when we can store it on Molly for now? (Can still drop it later when we find better loot)
Chain is weight 3… so wand and leather would go on golly and we’d be one short still
Amadeusz CANNOT drop plate this turn. Items cannot be dropped once used in the same turn. If he drops, that means he won’t use it during battle and may get hurt.
Ricki is not avoiding traps too.
Ricki pointing out traps has had her avoid them before. As for amad, the if he can’t drop the plate he won’t and be fine. The swap was for the after battle looting not prebattle
Plan: Go up and avoid back and forth movement inside the dungeon.
Mac: Read the note in front of you;
Kamau: Attack the same guard Amadeusz attacked last turn. The guard is hurt, will get knocked out and proc Cleave;
Amadeusz: Attack the other guard;
Ricki: Slip past the fight, join Max upstairs and Case the lightsaber guard.
The guards facing Kamau and Amadeusz are engaged in a fight and probably won’t attack Ricki, but even if both do so, she has 8 def and the guards can’t damage her.
If we do plan on this, have Ricki lockpick door. Otherwise it will be another turn before we engage (or we’d engage without Ricki)
Case is an action, we can only do one
We are missing just 1 key. Chances are we can open the door without lockpicking it, and I’m trying to save the tools for the triple locked chest.
That key is probably the one in the basement (doubt the key we just got would be so close)
Yes. It’s a risk and I’m willing to pay.
Maybe do this and then decide, whether we want to go further upstairs (to the lightsaber guard) or downstairs to the basement (or left to the third.lever).
Reposted Claudious plan with some rule corrections (with his blessing)
Plan: basement first, come back later.
Kamau: attack hurt guard using your hilt. Cleave
Amad: attack healthy guard using your siegesword.
Ricki: point out traps to everyone as soon as mac reaches you, case locked chest. Avoid traps and move left one screen. Move down one screen.
Mac: Drop axe, switch to chain. Move down. Avoid traps that Ricki pointed out, while using your action to move left one screen (so you can see ricki pointing out traps), move down one screen.
The armor switch on mac is to avoid the off chance both guards take a swing at him.
Dealing with this guy will take us at least 3 additional turns and possibly jeopardize the new party member. We can come back if we have time. But there’s good loot in basement to be had.
I don’t feel we risk losing the new guy or gal. They probably tried to blow up the prison door, we not sure they made it.
I think the door is only half broken, and now the lever won’t open it and this is all a ploy to make us lead Rusty to the door so he can eat the door away. Recruiting a party member was never an easy act, save for Kamau.
“Recruiting a party member was never an easy act, save for Kamau.”
And also Lohk and Amadeusz, who we could not prevent from joining. Lohk even joined against Ricki’s wishes.
