Dungeon 18 Turn 4
————

Amadeusz looks at the poster on the lowest floor to confirm his suspicions; “Wanted Dead or Alive: Werewolves”. This is indeed a magical poster that weakens him by its presence, and which cannot be removed from the wall.
Of course he would resort to every trick he has at his disposal to weaken the wolf. It shouldn’t apply to his human form, though…

On her way back to the third room up, Ricki takes note of the Guard patrol making its way through the door from below. It seems they take a little time to stop and look around, lacking Ricki’s Dungeon Ey… lacking Ricki’s special power.

Ricki expends some thieves’ tools to open the locked gate. The owlbear and blood rat on the other side immediately take notice.

Plan: move on
Ricki: go through the hole and wait for the guards to move up and engage the solar. Flip the left lever after.
Amad: read the white poster.
Amad has no idea when the guards are clear so we’re just going to confirm white posters debuff him.
Ricki opens the door for amad to loot and flip his lever next turn and she can get beaver chest while he does so and the guards get wiped out
Plan: Risk Mitigation
Ricki: Kill the Blood Rat with the Owlbear.
Amadeusz: Read the white wanted poster.
The owlbear and blood rat shouldn’t be any worse than the two dire rats with a blood rat near the start, but I’m wary of that King Blood Rat in the room. If those are on guard, best to cut the threat before there’s an issue.
Thoughts for follow up:
T6: On T5 confirming guards vs Solar, Ricki pulls the lever and Amadeusz loots the chest.
T7: Assuming Ricki’s path forward was blocked by the lever, we have a couple options. We can have Amadeusz mess with his lever, which probably opens the way for Ricki while Amadeusz doesn’t have many good actions to take. However, that would end up with Ricki’s path back (with that first guarded chest and the one behind the dam) locked off while Amadeusz is required to unlock that path by locking himself away, which would be risky if we need to go back down through the tower. All these reversible locks make me suspicious that we will need to go back down, and that we’re encouraged to make our escape difficult in order to slow down the turn 10 roamer.
Safest call here would be for Amadeusz to go out and check the wanted poster to see if this one is different, and Ricki flip the lever again.
T8: We’ll be running low on guards (either one disguised or two imperial). Ricki can drop a chandelier to maybe finish that fight, and Amadeusz might have to wait. Maybe we’ll get a potion from the chest.
Note that as turn 10 approaches, we may want to try exploiting those hiding spaces for Amadeusz. The intended strategy here might be to let the waves wipe themselves out. If we drag it out too long then LSN will find a way to make it backfire on us, but we’ll see.
Note T3 mentioned fire from the candles when dropping the chandelier. Presumably the elemental seal set to Fire would buff chandeliers, in addition to Ricki’s Burning Nunchuccoli. Another good option is Poison, to step up the Wand of Venomous Barrage to 10 damage plus empowering the venom glands.
Good call. I’d been wondering about its damage type and considered it could’ve been a hidden component with the previous damage calculations, but decided it probably wasn’t holy damage and didn’t make a post about it. Making a fire seal to buff it is a smart idea though.
