Dungeon 18 Turn 5
————

Ricki retreats back to the previous rooms and pulls another lever, which shifts a barrier between two different floors.
She sees the Guards move up a ladder and attack another solar guardian. Another of them gets their disguise torn off, and they seem to do a bit of damage, but if another one falls they’ll probably slow down a lot.

Amadeusz looks at another wanted poster. This is a more standard one, also targeting werewolves. It seems both together are adding up to a substantial drain.

Plan: Loot while waiting.
Ricki: Move up the ladder. Avoid the trapdoor and destroy the Barricade while 2 handing the broccoli.
Amad: Go through the door and open the chest. Drop the Elemental Seal if you need space.
Ricki is Rat Proof so there’s no risk to her. She can loot run next turn.
Amad has a lever to play with after he’s done looting. We might want to consider changing him back to human if all these posters are anti-wolf…
I’m expecting that at least one room will flip and target the human side to mess with us.
We’ll have to see how Amadeusz feels in the next room.
When the next patrol come at T10, amand can hide next to the chest if ricki will be around to pull the lever
The lever on Amadeusz’s side moved at the same time. I’m now almost certain that Amadeusz can hide himself behind the wall.
The problem with that is that if Ricki moves forward before Amadeusz opens the wall back up, then Ricki can’t go back because the lever will be blocked off. That would make things tricky if we need to race back down the tower – Amadeusz would need to pull the lever and trap himself to let Ricki past, and we may not be allowed to pull both levers on the same turn since they’re supposed to happen at the same time.
There’s chandelier above Amad’s head, it’s also there on T4 but on T3 Ricky has dropped it on the patrol’s heads? Small oversight, or did it re-spawn?
My bad, I’ll fix that tonight.
Taking a closer look at T1 and T2, the Solar’s longsword has a holy-colored flare behind its swing. That might be a Blinding Longsword for +1 Holy damage, or +3 with the Holy Seal. (Maybe we should Case…) Something to watch for if they fight Amadeusz.
Revisiting damage math:
Of the remaining guards, we have one imperial at full health (which dropped disguise this turn), one imperial who took a chandelier to the face, and one disguised guard who took two chandeliers to the face (so a chandelier cannot do 4 or more damage to a 4 DEF target).
Assuming we drop to 2 guards next turn T6, then the greataxe solar will still have 8 HP left. If guards fight to the death, then T7 will chip it to 6 while either going down to one guard or breaking the last disguise. T8 will at most drop the Solar to 4, and T9 will either wipe out the last guard or the remaining disguised guard on T8 will have the option to retreat from a hopeless battle and wait for reinforcements (which could let Amadeusz kill-steal and loot). There might be an opening in there to drop a chandelier, but it seems unlikely that this wave will take down a second Solar. At best we end T6 with three undisguised guards, then T7 will have a 3HP solar and two guards, and T8 will have a 1HP solar with one guard. (Not impossible that a low roll vs a full-health guard could leave a guard alive, then the Solar loses.) Dropping a chandelier could probably let Amadeusz through before reinforcements show up.
The third Solar Guardian has relics, Corona for +2 Def and Sun’s Raze for +2 Atk and three turns of +1-3 holy damage, plus the Holy Seal for 12-14 total damage. That takes out three Guards without any assistance for sure; vs an identical group, that’s 6 damage per turn, so dead in three turns unless the same guard is hit twice. We’ll need to sneak Amadeusz up to the third-room lever to let Ricki scout further. We know it takes more than two chandeliers to drop a guard and it looks like solars are strong enough that it doesn’t really help them out to pre-damage guards, so the spare chandeliers along the way are more for helping Amadeusz clean up leftover guards. If we drop three chandeliers on an identical wave and cancel out disguises, then the Solar wins with 9HP; if we pop disguises with the chandelier above the solar on the second turn, then the Solar takes 6+6+3?+3 damage and loses with at least two guards left.
I suspect we’re intended to let a second wave of guards go through, and that they’ll be stronger, perhaps with a Justiciar. I also suspect, given how fast other bond dungeons have been, that more reinforcements will be very bad for us. The goal is probably to balance everything out.
