Dungeon 17 Turn 0
————

“Okay, I took a peek through here and saw a bunch of bookshelves. This should be it.”
“Thanks for everything you’ve all done to get us here.”
“We’ll try to be quick.”
“You’d better. The air in there doesn’t seem very good. I think most of the books have rotted away.”
“But I did see a few left when I looked around.”
“I hope it’s something useful. I’d hate to think we came all the way down here for nothing.”
“Not for nothing, Mac. For you.”

Through the doorway, Ricki and Macadamia find a dark and musty room full of ancient stone shelves. Actually, it’s very musty in here. Breathing air this stale for a long time can’t be good, even for those better adapted to underground environments like goblins or kobolds. A human probably wouldn’t last in here more than a couple of minutes, but even as it is, Ricki thinks they should hurry and find what they came for.
Ricki can see several books on the shelves, which might be a good place to look for the information they came here for. She can also see a book flying through the air on the floor above, which might be dangerous in some way. There are other items on the shelves too, but they look very old.
Also, just to head you off at the pass, Ricki and Mac can’t climb the shelves. They’re old and might crumble from the extra weight.
Also Mac would cringe all the way in half. He already has to hold back tears when he sees the pets do it back home.

Dungeon 17: The Library Wing
Goal: Find primary source information about the history of dragons and kobolds.
Time Limit: The air is stale. On turn 3 and every 3rd turn afterwards, Ricki and Macadamia will each have their maximum HP reduced by 1 until they leave the dungeon. Maximum HP of 0 equals death!
This dungeon can be abandoned.

Plan: info gathering
Mac: read the blue book
Ricki: use a lens on the flying book from below. Scout right.
Knowing how dangerous the book is will help us determine when we can explore the next room.
I appreciate saving us a command with the “before you ask”
Let’s brainstorm here.
My thoughts:
items on shelves look old and worthless but may be part of some larger puzzles.
Flying book looks to be same color as green book on shelf. So books on shelves may be monsters, or flying books also have info.
Ladders maybe move?
Old items look like a shield and glove?
My guess is both: Flying books may have info, shelf books may occasionally be monsters and provoke an attack of opportunity by reading.
The color of the book may be a hint, similar to how we’ve seen chests with stalkroaches inside. We see that a green-book may be a monster, but then, why two other colors?
There’s a chance that all those books are monsters, just of different ‘element’. I guess we’ll know soon after reading the blue one.
they have info on how to beat them 😀
18 turns if no damage? 24?
Mac has 8hp. We are on/after turn 0 now. Next turn is T1. In T3, when it starts, or whatever, we get the penalty. So we have actions on T1 and T2 for free, then third turn is a hit. On the turn when Mac’s maxHP eaches 0, he dies.

Mac dies the moment when we reach turn 24, Ricky dies when we reach turn 30.
Mac has “Doing his best” ability, so he should be able to safely evac, provided we ask him to do it when we decide our moves after turn 22 and he executes that order on turn 23.
Doing this that way gives us a few turns more so Ricky can do some absolutely last actions. Few means exactly 6 turns, since Ricky has to be ordered to abandon after we all saw the outcome of turn 28.
We can’t be sure whether Mac survives or not if we ask him to evac one turn later, and when we already reached and saw outcome of turn 23, and he tries to evac on turn 24th. I totally expect seeing him trying to get out and cinematically falling on his face dead right before the exit door.
The same applies to Ricky and turns 29/30.
Of course assuming no damage, and no loss of max-health due to other unknown effects.
Good to know our general time limit. We have often screwed ourselves when trying to stay until the very end. I would just like to get the objective, grab anything thats easy to do (ie, 1-2 turns of actions) and then dip.
Wow am I glad a feast was done before coming here.
Also, I beg you all… dont make us wait until last second. Risking death isn’t worth ANY item!
Just for the record: At the bottom of the shelf right to the flying book there is a – pressure plate? breakable floor? … some kind of trap. Also the second topmost step of the ladder (top left) looks like another trap.Ricki: Avoid traps, point out to Mac. Mac: Avoid traps.
yo i want that glove
it looks like it will be called
*drum roll* “old glove”
oh and also that’s a left handed glove so only left handed people should be able to use it
Mac is holding the spear with his left hand so he might be left handed
(I think you put the shield in the non-dominant hand)
wait I think that’s a right handed glove…
Don’t forget the birthday cake (it dropped during the intermission). It’s on the floor behind Mac.
Currently there is no space left in our inventory. After Ricki uses the lens next turn, there is space, but picking up takes an action. So let us hope that we have time to pick it up later.
Light a match
Why are you not
“I make good decisions”
Because that would require me to understand the mechanics of the game and know what everyone’s abilities are and what we have in the inventory and what each item in the inventory is good for. Doing the wrong thing is just purely RP.
