Dungeon 14 Turn 56
————

Kamau, Macadamia, and Botanya give up on their plan and head back to the left. Kamau eats the birthday cake off the floor on the way, recovering 3 HP. Mac and Botanya pick the bomb back up, as well as a ton of rings.

Ricki takes the domesticollar off the ground and fastens it around Daisy’s neck. She then wanders back and forth looking for the tyrant lizard with her Dungeon Eyes. She sees the reptile enter this room from the right, leave for the entrance, then turn around and return.
Hmm…. Is it pinpointing us?
Sooo.. let’s see.. assuming it’s just patrolling as usual, it seems it was on its way from the deep to the entrance. Ricky sees it does 3 moves (enter, leave, enter back), so once it reached the end/entrance, it turned back, ok, looks like patrolling. It has mov=3, so everything fits.
But, it seems that it ended its previous turn *directly* under Kamau and Botanya when they sounded the horn and attempted to lure it. And it didn’t jump and attack. Either it means the King needed at least 1 mov to perform that move+attack (well.. logical) and it simply ran out of Mov and couldn’t do that (what a coincidence!), or it was too high for it to climb/jump (I don’t think so), or it was for some reason smart enough to not do that (but.. why? maybe because small Tyrant was dead already, so King didn;t hear any panicked-kid sounds from the above?).
So.. yeah. I think it was pure coincidence and we were just unlucky with our experiment.
OTOH, I’m super happy that this rope didn’t tickle the King and it didn’t rip it out while passing there twice.
No, that was already true on T43, when a horn blast from the tamer was enough to make the king jump.
Maybe the horn sounds different when a non-kobold blows it?
Me too!
A long time ago Mac blew the horn underground, and she ended her move early but didn’t do anything. I’ve been assuming that that always happens when blowing the horn from an inaccessible location and she only attacks if she started her turn right above/below the horn.
Plan: Hatchery
Ricki: Move right. Move down. Move Left and pull the lever. Take note of King’s movement as you move. Think about how’d you like to get rid of the eggs in the nest. Steal them? Or smash them?
Mac: Trade your Shocktail to Botania. Take the horn from her.
Botania: Trade your bomb to Kamau for his Holy Water and your horn to Mac
Kamau: Trade your holy water to Botania for her Bomb.
Gets Horn on Mac and splits the bomb and torch up so it can be detonated in 1 turn (when they get there). We need to sit tight this turn so we can pass king.
Next turn Ricki will set up rope and Mac will pick up a stack of copper Dodge rings for more $$$. Then Upper crew will move down. Botania can scoop the last pile of coins then we’re doing the final push.
w.r.t. eggs – I think we should burn the hay under them, and cook the eggs.
Assuming this will mean instant end of the dungeon, we might be able to find the space for them with help of IntermissionMagic and just imagine Lohk’s face when we bring ~7 cooked dragon/dino eggs! 😀
Stealing is cool idea too, but I think we lack the capacity. I doubt they stack well, even standard chicken egg stack only to 3, if they are pickable at all, they probably don’t stack at all like Pet Eggs.
The choice may not be ours to make since characters won’t do actions that go against their beliefs. I’m fishing for rickis beliefs so there won’t be any surprises
Tyrant lizard: climb the little rope
Plan: Hatchery with improved inventory management
Ricki: Move right. Move down. Move Left and pull the lever. Take note of King’s movement as you move. Think about how’d you like to get rid of the eggs in the nest. Steal them? Or smash them?
Mac: Group trade on top of silver def rings. Give Kamau shocktail. Give Botanya plier, robe, fangs. Get both floor silver def rings.
Botania: Drop horn next to top of left ladder. Join the group trade. Give Kamau bomb. Give Golly tower shield.
Kamau: Join the group trade. Give Golly Heavy Helm.
Splits the bomb and torch up, set horn in place (idea is Mac stay safe up there doing inventory stuff and tooting when we need to attract trex away from basement)
Sets up mac for stack of silver ring instead of copper since next turn he can stop by the right for 2 more silver def ring(added to stack along with equiped one for 5 total) and 1 silver atk ring(replacing equiped silver ring)
Consolidate heavy def stuff on Golly since the only fights left are mini-rex and trex which are unblockable. I want to keep 10 def on Kamau just in case we need to him to stall trex(it has 15 atk and deals 5 minimum) so not storing armor.
Keeps 1 open space for Mac cuz I think he can get the stranded chest by lassoing the top of the right ladder.
Sorry in case you see this comment twice, the filter ate my last post >.<
Botanya needs to keep her shield, otherwise the bomb plan is a bust. With the shield she can tank the bomb in that small location, without it we need to spend an extra turn getting her out of its range.
I would feel safer with botania having her shield. Just for unforseen disasters
Look at the bomb explosion size at https://dungeoneyes.com/dungeon-13-turn-36/ and hold your fingers at how wide it is. Center them next to the egg door and you see there’s safe space for Botanya to stand on the right end of the room.
But okie making another plan just in case this bomb is wider somehow.
I think you’re trying to count pixels instead of considering what the bomb actually does. Which is to deal 10 damage to anything near it. Obviously that’s subjective, but I think it’s reasonable to believe anything in that very small area of the hatchery would be considered “near” to each other. Plus, I’m fairly certain the explosion in the link you posted is that size only because that’s the size of the indented floor we were blowing up. If you check the previous turn from there, you can see the explosion isn’t even centered on the bomb.
There is also a chance the death patrol comes running once we blow the door. While the plan is to auto end the dungeon before they arrive, is feel safer with more def on the party
Huh? Where is that coming from? 2 bombs blew up before and nobody moved to check it out. They are not a patrol, they’re just guarding the corridor.
Also the 2 tamers deals unblockable so def is useless against them and Kamau would need to interpose anyway.
Naah, that’s too far fetched. They are 2 rooms away. When we did some explosions like bomb or trap or exploding-heart-of-an-bell, enemies not even in the same room reacted if it was on a different level.
Alt of my previous plan so Botanya keeps the tower shield just in case bomb explosion is bigger than the one we saw before.
Still keeping Kamau above 10 def just in case.
Ricki: Move right. Move down. Move Left and pull the lever. Take note of King’s movement as you move. Think about how’d you like to get rid of the eggs in the nest. Steal them? Or smash them?
Mac: Group trade on top of silver def rings. Give Kamau shocktail, robe, fangs. Get both floor silver def rings.
Botania: Drop horn next to top of left ladder. Join the group trade. Give Kamau bomb. Get floor robes.
Kamau: Join the group trade. Give Golly turtle armor. Equip your shield and gold defense ring for now.
Very reckless plan imo. We have turn 60 coming up which could be anything. I dont think its a good idea to neuter Kamau’s defense this late in the game.
Im opposed as well. Like the whole poison bucket debacle in poison well, a reckless cash grab at dungeon end when we do not know for sure what the outcome will be is very reckless.
can Kamau eat the candy 4 more loot slot?
ayo were king plan go? Tyrant blade woud be badass fr
You could suggest one, but I think it was given up on because Mommy isn’t jumping as we had expected her to. It looks like she’s figured out the horn thing.
