Dungeon 14 Turn 34
————
Kamau absorbs the ever-diminishing volley of crossbow bolts while Macadamia and the pets attack. One of the miners is defeated, but Daisy misses on her bite, and the flytrap’s damage is insufficient to finish off the other opponent. Botanya uses her second wand to heal Kamau for 4 HP, then uses her Mulch ability to absorb nutrients from the newly unconscious kobold.
Ricki uses her Case ability and confirms that the tamer below carries no items.
No items = awesome!
Nonetheless, I’m guessing Mama is now in the shocktail room (4 rooms away from the room below this one) and heading our way. Seems like an unwise time to attack the baby or anyone with a tyrant horn, unless we want to test the theory that enemies can action move. Can we get to the miners on the top level without alerting the tamers below them?
“Can we get to the miners on the top level without alerting the tamers below them?”
Most likely not. If they were facing the screen or any other direction yes, but with them staring at the ladder they’re likely alert and would notice our passage.
I think King should be in the egg room right now.
Yeah, you may well be right. I’ve been assuming she doesn’t go in there unless she’s called, based on the fact that she ended T25 in the shocktail room facing left, as if she had just come from the right. But maybe she had just come from the left and then turned around when she heard the baby’s call.
Plan: Death Group
Kamau: Interpose down below in death group.
Mac: Switch your 2 def rings with your 2 gold attack rings. Melee stab the Tyrant.
Botania: Move down and debuff the Tyrant. Have your plant attack the Tyrant
Ricki & Daisy: Attack the Death Tamer.
We should be able to clear both these guys out together. The remaining Miner wont add any dmg to Kamau since the other damage is unblockable.
Once these 2 are down we can finish off miner and loot the chest.
What is the end goal for doing this? Are we trying to kill Mama, get to the nest, or just grab some loot and leave?
This doesn’t seem to have a positive impact on either of the first two goals.
Death group will cause problems when we try to attach the rope and descend. If we do that at right side where the chest lies, they may see us, and the baby-Tyrant may call Momma. With very careful planning, this may be OK, since our 1-mov guys can move-down and then action-move-left (and crawl under floor) to safety, but the longer we linger up here, the more chances we will count/estimate King’s movement wrong, and the baby’s call will screw things up very badly. I think it’s much less risky to get rid of it while we can.
End goal is securing an exit for us down to the lower area. Also allows us to loot that chest safely without worry of Baby calling out for mom and breaking the floor. Nets us another Fang that may be important.
That seems fair
I meant to write out the reasoning before I posted. Sorry about that.
Go down the ladder and give the tamer a horn to blow
