Dungeon 14 Turn 14
————
Kamau, Macadamia, and Botanyaβs adorable pet flytrap engage the three kobold miners in the next room in a furious melee. After dropping her newly retrieved shield in the previous room, Ricki attempts to use this distraction as a means of bypassing the miners.
However, it seems the minersβ very purpose was to prevent this from happening! All three strike at her, though their attacks are blunted by Botanyaβs aroma, and one is avoided outright. Ricki takes 1 damage.
This (completely understandably) throws her friends into a fury, Kamau in particular. He strikes down two of the miners, while Macadamia knocks out another with his shocktail javelin. Macadamia then picks up three copper rings of aggression, three copper rings of protection, and three heavy picks as the spoils of war.
Before proceeding to the next room, Ricki uses her Case ability on the dragon rider far above. She sees that this cunning cavalier wears two silver rings of evasion.
The room below contains an absolutely precious bundle of black feathers and pointy, pointy teeth. It guards a locked door. Several other guardians await on floors below.

RING OF EVASION, SILVER
Ring
All attacks have a 20% chance to miss you.
Weight 1, Cost 25
Aaaand we haven’t learned our lesson about rushing it seems. That was an 80% chance of remorsing and we got lucky…
Amazing! She has access to the secret knowledge so far reserved for Ricky π
Let’s call him axedancer π
Ricki, show Sue how tough you are. Solo that juvenile tyrant.
+1 for Sue to solo the JT
Kamau: go down and interpose baby tyrant.
Botania: go down and debuff tyrant.
Ricki: use picks to open gate. Go left after.
Mac: go down and stab baby tyrant with shocktail.
Baby shrooms and plant: attack baby tyrant.
This safely clears tyrant and gets the door unlocked.
Option b is to start moving back towards kobold ambush to avoid them meeting up with king on turn 30. That said there’s a second group that can meet up with him and we can’t get them both. They’re probably just there to keep us in kings patrol path when he gets back
uhm… how do we know that? I mean, HP+Def of that new enemy? Did I miss we’ve already had it scanned?
Hm.. but anyways, yeah, I think it’s better to not attack with Ricky and unlock the passage instead, and finish the beast on the next turn. If Ricky attacked now, she’d open the way next turn and we’d effectively have one turn less on managing items (on T17). If Ricky unlocks now and attacks next turn, we can manage items straight on the next turn (on T16). Nice plan!
Yes, it was scanned on turn 10.
TYRANT LIZARD
HP: 10
Atk: 3
Def: 3
Ability: attacks deal unblockable damage
Drops: 1 Tyrant Fang
These black-scaled reptiles, though nearly human-sized, are still only juveniles. Theyβve been imbued with the element of death before hatching. They are always hungry and attack anything they perceive which looks like it might be food, favouring anything that fits in their mouth in one piece. If they hear the sound of one of their own nearby, they will call out to make the sound of distress carry farther. An adult will come running if it hears this sound.
So Kamau takes 3 unblockable unless he dodges, and everyone listed in the plan does 15 damage put together – more than enough to deal with the 10 HP+ 3 DEF.
Actually Kamau takes 2 worst case. Botania debuffs the attack
Edit. Sorry, post not meant as an answer to the plan.
Both patrols have riders on them. King wasn’t wearing a collar last we saw him, but I’d say we need to defeat the riders before facing the Death Rex.
I also recommend we gather at the pile of items sooner rather than later and summon Pawns,
so we don’t risk a patrol of intelligent enemies eventually finding it. There is enough on that floor to make our lives more difficult.
Huh. I guess shocktails can climb ladders.
Or he’s a good boy and lets himself be picked up π
