Dungeon 12 Turn 47
————
Ricki and Amadeusz swim to the right and try to help Lara get free from the crab. Amadeusz also gets snatched up by the crab’s other claw. He takes no damage from the attack, but his protective bubble is burst. Lara takes 1 unblockable damage from being crushed while already grabbed. However, with the group’s combined power, the crab is slain. All three of them swim up to the air pocket afterwards and take a much-needed breath.
Dungeon magic collapses the crab’s body into a perfect set of plate armour. Though it’s lighter than normal, it’s still too heavy for any of the party to pick up right now.
With the crab gone, the quality of the water changes, but not enough to clear the poison. Still, there are fewer particles in the water now. It seems that the “magically-forming” egg sacs are actually just growing in places where lots of those particles (loose eggs) pile up. If the remaining eggs can be destroyed, the poison should be taken care of!
Gross.
Cordy descends by one room and picks up a coin out of the water.

PLATE ARMOUR, CRAB
Armour
Def +4, or Def +5 if no accessories are worn on the hands and feet. +2 Atk against aquatic creatures.
Weight 4, Cost 47
WOOHOOOOOO VICTORY OVER THE CRAB!
Plan: finish before 50
Lara: loot crab armor, drop harpoon. Move left move left get air.
Ricki: loot chest 1. Drop oxymoss then Crit item to make room if need be.
Cordy: dive for another coin. Have your mushies rank your dive.
Amad: loot chest 2. Drop cigs then meat to make room if need be.
Next turn, Lara moves along roof to open chest. If frogs grab her she has one more use of helmet.
T50: Lara either moves away from frogs and kills source or just kills source after looting. She has a mushy to distract the puffer if need be.
Dungeon done.
As an extra precaution. We can have Laras shroom attack the puffer when she walks along the ceiling. The frogs should target it and not her so we can get the chest
I posted a plan similar to this one where Lara ends her turn over the frogs, which should let us know if they’ll attack her for crossing the ceiling one turn early. I also had Cordy move left and challenge the PET TRAINER, since he’s right there and we can potentially beat him in 1-2 turns if he gets to use all of his mushrooms. Aside from that, my plan is basically the same as yours with Ricki and Amadeusz looting chests in the boss room.
Nice! So glad that worked out, and that it seems the poison spewers won’t be respawning (?)
I think they still will unless we clear by t50. It clarifies that clearing the sources will end the dungeon
Ricki: Grab the Oxymoss. Head left.
Lara: Drop Harpoon, grab the Crab Armour. Head left twice, then get air.
Amadeusz: Loot a chest, dropping cigs, and then meat, and then fishing pole in that order if needed to carry loot.
Cordy: Grab a coin.
–
Sets us up next turn for turn 49
Lara: Kill frog, have Shroom help.
Ricki: Left, attack other frog, have Shroom help.
This loses us 1 shroom but guarantees Rickis safety.
Amy: Get the other chest, dropping junk as needed.
Cordy: Coin.
Turn 50
Lara: Pop the final source.
Ricki: If you crit and killed the Frog last turn. loot the last chest. If not, finish killing the frog.
Wolf: Head left into the skeletons and change back to human form. That’ll really piss Amadeusz off.
Cordy: Coin.
I’m not sure why everyone is having Cordy grab coins lol; the PET TRAINER is directly to the left of Cordy. Even assuming that we can’t gang up with Cordy’s full deck of little shrooms, this course of action has Cordy picking up coins for three turns. He has three shrooms, so even if he can’t gang up on the PET TRAINER that’s three pets he can use to try and take out the PET TRAINER’s BEAVER.
We don’t know how the battle will shake out, but I’d say that potentially getting a pet egg or a pet item far outweighs a measly 2-3 gold.
We could totally do it just for fun but theres a few problems.
1. We likely cant have more than 1 pet join the fight.
2. Even if we can, per pet battle rules, as soon as 1 shroom faints, the opposing side wins.
3. Even if we can use all our shrooms, and they all have to faint before we lose, the fight was described as being aquatic, as in taking place in the water. After atk penalties, all our shrooms have 0 Atk.
Buuut losing out on 3 gold pieces isnt a big deal. So sure I guess we can fight the pet master.
Sigh, sadly diplomatic talks have broken down. We were forced to kill the crab which the crab kingdom will take as an act of war. We should abandon the dungeon and go inform the emporer so the nation can prepare. Yes we are criminals and will go to jail, but it’s the honorable thing to do.
How come **I** always get more dislikes/downvotes than this bozo?
Did you like the song?
Oh, thank God. I was worried I’d get us all killed, but it worked out.
Ricki: Loot the left chest. Drop Oxy Moss, crit items, and helmet (in that order of priority) to make room if necessary.
Lara: Drop harpoon, pick up crab armor, double move left; end turn on left-most wall, just above the water.
Amadeusz: Loot the right chest. Drop Cigarettes, Fishing Pole, and Meat (in that order of priority) to make room if necessary.
Cordy: Move left to the PET TRAINER, challenge him to a battle. Use all three shrooms if you can because fair fights are for suckers, or just one if you can’t.
This lets us loot the items that are in the two chests in the boss room, and gets Lara position to make a move on the last poison source on the following turn. This also lets us challenge the PET TRAINER during the last few turns of the dungeon; if we can use all three shrooms we might be lucky enough to get a pet item or a pet egg out of it. Pets that lose against the PET TRAINER are just KO’d so we don’t need to worry about losing Cordy’s mushrooms.
On Turn 49 we can have Lara destroy the poison source, with Ricki and/or Amadeusz moving into the room to act as interference for the frogs. Cordy can continue the fight with the PET TRAINER.
The goal is to try and wrap things up before Turn 50, since that’s a needless risk since dungeons typically get a lot deadlier past Turn 50. We don’t want to risk anyone with the waters becoming more poisonous, or the sources doing more damage when they explode, or anything like that. Or, heaven forbid they all respawn.
Lara damage would be 9 (poison)+ 6 (frogs) +4 (skellies). That’s 19 vs her def of like 16. This may kill her if frogs attack
Hmm, you’re right. I’ll amend it so that she ends her turn at a safe distance. It makes the timeline a little tighter, but also lets us have Ricki and Amadeusz potentially move into place to act as backup.
I forgot about the chest in the room with the last poison source. It doesn’t really change my above plan; IMO it’s not worth getting greedy at this stage. We’ve beaten the boss and are about to loot two more chests that were guarded by the boss, and our inventories are already full to bursting as it is. We should just kill the last source and vamoose.
Finally,& we now have something we can use later/sell for profit!
