Dungeon 12 Turn 14
————
Ricki and Amadeusz take the time to finish off the two skeletons in the Lara’s-near-death-experience room. Just in case.
Cordy swims down the well shaft and explores the next room. Seems it’s not the bottom quite yet, but at least it’s another fairly simple area.
Cordy also absorbs one of their mushroom pets into their biomass in order to restore 1 HP, which negates the damage from drowning. The damage from the poisonous water is negated by their potion effect, which is now half expended.
Lara proceeds back to the leftmost room and throws her harpoon at the egg cluster. It does some damage, but not that much, and not enough to destroy it. The harpoon then falls and sinks to the room below.
The little mushroom attacks the blowfish as it approaches, then gets mobbed by all four aquatic enemies and explodes. The blowfish takes minor damage, but the skeletal fish are immune.
Lara chows down on some oxymoss to avoid drowning. She has only one clump left.
Oh dear, looks like we weren’t clear enough with Ricki and Ama’s commands >w<
How come?
Just out of curiosity, what were R & A supposed to do? Kill the skeleton fish, I guess?
That was my interpretation, since the poster was talking about going for an all-clear.
That went almost as poorly as possible
I only joined recently.Like I said in the previous page,I don’t know how dire our adventures were in previous dungeons. There’s a chance we can salvage this & win,& a chance we fail.
I’m optimistic but cautious.
Right bow,we need to find a way to get more healing,or regroup somewhere without water & poison.
Now (t15):
Lara: Kill Puffer. Yes, with your sword. Ow.
Ricki: move left. Trade Crit greaves to Cordy.
Amad: move left. Mend Cordy
Cordy: move up accept trade
We’re probably going to take > 2 damage from the pufferfish if we don’t just bite the bullet and kill it now, so lets do that.
Costs of this turn:
2 hp 1 oxymoss on Lara (3 left)
1 hp on Ricki (5 left)
1 hp on Amadeusz (3 left)
But we’re setting up for some additional stuff (see replies to this post) on future turns without inflicting too much damage from poison water on ourselves. One of those is a turn spent using Grit to heal the whole party up.
Next (t16):
Ricki: Eat Fish
Lara: Eat Fish
Cordy: Eat Fish for Mush
Amad: Eat Sauce
Costs* unless they can get to the Pet Master during/after fighting, which might mitigate:
1 hp Ricki (4 left)
1 hp Lara (2 left)
2 hp Cordy (1 left, 4 mushies DON’T EAT THEM UNLESS WE NEED TO WE NEED THE DEFENSE TO MOVE)
1 hp Deusz (2 left)
Next+1 (t17):
All: Grit next to Pet Master
Ricki: Explore Down.
Lara: Explore Down. We’re hoping to find another Source to deal with ASAP reducing movement to 2 poison damage.
Ricki 6 hp (+3 -1)
Lara 4 hp (+3 -1)
Cordy 4 hp
Deusz 5 hp
Next+2 (t18):
Cordyhorde: 4v1 Beaver
Ricki: ??? (deal with room below pet master?)
Lara: Hopefully deal with a Source or set up for said dealing with source
Amad: Fetch gold or go down to assist. Mend Lara?
Ricki (5 hp)
Lara (3 hp (4hp?))
Cordy (4 hp)
Deusz (4 hp)
We can also have Cordy Drop the Healing potion during the Grit turn. Lara or whoever we want can drink it the turn after
AND we still have Mend & the 3 minishrooms.
This plan doesn’t work nearly as well as I suggest — it was pointed out that I messed up t16 math, because characters would have to tank 2 rooms worth of poison damage.
So this is probably not the plan to go with.
It’s STILL the best in the whole comments section!
I’m still wondering what happened on turn 10. I’m guessing an egg sac hatched, and now whatever hatched out of it is going to lay more eggs if it hasn’t already?
I don’t believe so,the quest intro would’ve mentioned something like that…
The quest intro did mention something like that:
That’s what I’m referring to.
Looking at our Hp, Abandoning the dungeon is becoming a real possibility. Not right now, but perhaps in the future.
Our healing consists of one use of Grit and one healing potion.
Just moving between rooms is costing most characters 1 hp so we’ll burn through the grit heal in 3 turns and that is not including unblockable poison source dmg or blowfish.
And don’t forget some progress is undone every 10 turns and that most dungeons have a Twist of some kind (on turn 20 usually).
What we find in the last 2 rooms may change this but i suspect things will just be getting harder.
Just some things to keep in mind.
We fccked up with Lara,LSN probably assumed we wanted to use ALL Moves on that turn.
Order of the skulls under the Palworld trainer is probably important. Left Right Left Left Right. Ok I got it. Cordy, move 1 room to the left, then back to the right then back left then one more left then back right.
Everyone else pick up the gold at your feet.
My take on the plan:
Now (t15):
Lara: Kill Puffer. Yes, with your sword. Ow.
Amad: Move left. Mend Cordy
Ricki: Move left. Loot as many coins as possible
Cordy: Move up. Loot as many coins as possible
T16:
Lara attack a remaining fish to draw aggro from that group away from everyone else
Ricki pops the egg, Cordy loots chest, Amad mend Cordy. Then all 3 go chill with pokemon trainer
17: Mass healing grit, Cordy drops potion, someone scouts down
18: Drink potion/Trade/Progress next room/Clean up fish/Whatever
Pretty similar to Jerf’s,& has the highest chance of not failing.
I would add Lara should resurface at the Pet Trainer (might save us 1 oxymoss?)
Lara cannot move to air after attacking unless the air pockets is very close sadly
Within the same room (which the pet master is) should be close enough, no?
Everyone:REGROUP to where the scorpions were!Immediately!
The party NEEDS to be healed in SOME WAY.
Ricki: Head left, grab a coin.
Cordy: Head up, grab a coin.
Amadeus: Head left, Mend a Cordy.
Lara: Use your action to pop the egg sac. Swim down and scout the room below.

Just an alternate plan. Weakens the water for everyone next turn and we don’t need to fight these fish at all if we dont plan on coming back. And if we do have to return, we can do so after regrouping.
