Dungeon 11 Turn 4
————
The party moves to the next room. Kamau cleaves through the four rats without any difficulty. Though he absorbs attacks from the blood rat without issue, two of the dire rats team up and deal 2 damage to the mushroom. The third dire rat attacks Amadeusz as he approaches the tables, but does no damage. The rats drop zero tails, somehow.
Amadeusz intends to drag the tables over and pile them up to reach the keys above, but it seems that they’re firmly bolted down. They can’t be moved, although they could probably be destroyed fairly easily. While he’s looking, he also notices number of bread and cheese crumbs wedged into the cracks in the wood. Either the guards aren’t doing a good job of wiping these down as one of the previous notes instructed, or the crumbs are respawning due to dungeon magic. He isn’t sure which eventuality he disapproves of more.
While Macadamia moves on to the next room, Ricki reads the note on the upper floor.
“Keep reporting on the status of these support walls. If any of them were to collapse, who knows what else might break around here.”
Macadamia finds a group of guards. They don’t seem to have noticed him yet despite the well-lit room.
Kamau and Amadeuz could EVENTUALLY take on the Golem by themselves. If Kamau wields the siege sword he’s at 16 damage (poison does not apply). Deuz can wield the swiftblade, which normally would be weak in his hands but deals +5 vs the golem. On top, he can wield another weapon, thats at least another +2 from an imperial longsword. At min Deuz would have 10 attack vs the Golem, adding up to 26 between the two. First turn would expose Deuz to unblocable damage, triggering guilt on Kamau. Next turn Amadeuz could retreat leaving Kamau to finish it off. So suposing there’s enough armor and whatever sword to loot for Amadeuz, a two turn kill at the cost of two damage and a guilt point on Kamau, one damage on Deuz. On top of that, a turn to switch items around.
Kamau can’t use the siege sword, it’s two handed
Plan: clear the guards
Kamau: move right and interpose on guards
Amad,: move right and kill bird
Ricki and daisy: move right and take out a leather guard
Mushroom attack guard dog
Mac: move left and explore up ladder.
Logic: Amad is targetting bird because he is tallest. Not sure if pets or Ricki can reach it and we do not want it to get away.
Kamau will take some damage, but taking out a guard will reduce incoming dmg next turn significantly.
I prefer fighting guard to get info on how pigeon works earlier
Risks calling reinforcements in earlier too.
There has to be someway to prevent them calling for reinforcements. Attacking bird is mostly likely the solution and we’ll have to deal with these birds eventually. Best when we have lots of time on the timer.
As an added bonus, clearing these guards allow us to take on Golem and loot 2 chests afterwards. we also have the ability to explore more new rooms (should finish the map I think)
I think we should destroy the tables, so we won’t have to deal with rats constantly re-spawning.
Agreed, but with chandelier. See my plan above
Powering through to the lever so we can destroy the tables by use of chandelier and possibly open the puzzle chest:
Mac: move left (quietly) one screen and up one screen. (Scouting)
Kamau: move to the top of this room, interpose while walking left until your stuck on the web
Ricki, go to the top of this room, cut the web.
Amadeusz: lasso the keys with your rope, move to the top of the room.
What’s the point of interpose? Until the web is cut nobody could conceivably be targeted. Might as well just have Kamau attack the group instead of interpose at that point.
It’s not impossible that a ladybaatle can be thrown through the web. Kamau can’t cut it by himself either – he can’t see it.
The downside is we won’t have new equipment for the party until we clear the skeletons. Would be better to get some shields first imo
I would rather not risk alerting the guards as long as we can and Kamau’s health is, sadly, our most expendable resource.
Kamau: Attack the web in front of betlees that Ricki points out to you.
Amadeuz: stand under the keys and lift Ricki up.
Ricki: Point out the web trap to Kamau, Climb Amadeuz and then take the keys. Ricki has loooong sword, should work
Mac: go left and then up to scout new room.
reminder that pets not participating in combat can’t be targeted, so the shroom with Kamau is safe.
Amaduez: Join Mac and play Hurtfull Dirge using Zig and Thrum
Kamau: Join Mac in a room and attack the pidgeon
Big Mushroom: attack guard with round shield (with +2 def it should only take 1dmg if they have holy water, and 0 if they don’t)
Ricki: Join Mac in a room and attack pidgeon
Mac: Have your heart swell with warm feelings when all your friends join you, and then skitter away as you realise you are not joining them in that fight. Go left and Up to scout new room.
Dirge will give everyone +2def making this fight trivial, and i want to science if it will hit hidden enemies (beds on top) and if it can one shoot pidgeon.
Reminder that if we target enemy that has already died, the attack is moved to someone else. Everyone on Pidgeon just in case it has dodge, but i hope Dirge alone can take it.
I don’t think char attack someone else if their target is already dead since all attacks happen at once. Can you reference where this has happened before?
I’m voting for Claud’s plan to attack the guards. But here’s a viable Baatle Battle Plan as an alternative.
Ricki: Warn everyone about and Attack the Webs leading the Baatle and his harem.
Kamau: Rush through and attack the Baatle.
Mushroom 1 (Mycah): Attack the 2nd Ladybaatle to draw some aggro away from your Master.
Amadeusz: ZING, THRUM, AND HURTFUL DIRGE. This will help with Kamau’s Cleave, but mainly it will give both him and his Mushroom +2 Defense. If Attacks are split in our favor, neither should take any damage.
Macadamia: Return to the ladder, and scout upwards.
Edit: Actually not sure this works, looking back at the Spider + Web encounter on D7T39. Kamau was not aware of the web and so he walked straight into it, but Mac was able to slash the web up on the same turn. I would think Ricki being there to point the webs out would help, but I don’t know.

From the description of the mini golem:
After we take out the guards, is it possible that Kamau and Amadeusz could put on their clothes and just walk past the golem to loot the chests and keys? I don’t think their clothes have ever dropped as loot before, so maybe not, but it seems worth a try.
