Dungeon 9 Turn 32
————
Ricki, Lara, and Kamau change their mind and head back to explore one more crypt. Ricki pulls the lever, which opens the next hallway in sequence.
Botanya wonders where everyone else is. They were right behind her a second ago.
Plan to interpose and kill ghast+dog
Kamau: Move left and interpose
Ricki: Move left and attack ghast
Lara: Move left and attack ghast. Loot giant sword, dropping as necessary pickaxe and stake.
Flytrap: Attack ghast
Both Shrooms: Kill dog
Botanya: Move into a coffin to bait zombies in then try to trap them with your action by closing the lid on them(with you on the outside of course).
We need interpose since intelligent enemy with lots of damage. I guess that sword is +7 or 8?
2 shrooms kill a dog, right? Someone confirm please.
No idea if trapping zombies will work, but even 1% chance of working is better than doing nothing.
There’s been some speculation on the discord that the sword might do some amount of aoe damage. There’s basically no reason to have the mushrooms attack the dog in my opinion, since regardless of what happens Kamau is trapped there another turn so it makes little difference if Lara sticks around next turn to mop up the dog or whatever.
Ghast paralysis is not 100%. I think the record is about 75% so far? So dealing with the dog now gives us like 25% of being a whole turn ahead toward our next major battle.
I really don’t want to stick around there for another turn if we can help it. Do you think the sword giving AoE is likely enough for that? That sounds quite OP to me for something we’ll get our hands on, and completely unprecedented in terms of weapon effects.
I think you’ll find that Ghasts have paralyzed everyone they’ve ever attacked. You might be conflating the ghasts with the ghouls. Ghasts are green screened, ghouls are Grey.
Because someone is 100% getting paralyzed this turn, there’s no sense trying to finish off the skeleton dog (especially since 4 dmg is likely insufficient)
Editing isn’t working, but it does appear that we’ve one shot dogs with 4 dmg before, so at the very least this does kill the dog.
For anyone coming to this later – I was totally wrong and should’ve known I was wrong. Lara managed to not get paralyzed by a ghast when she was attacked earlier in the dungeon (when we got our 3 remorse).
If it did aoe dmg, it’d need to do 3 to have a chance at killing the wounded shroom, and even if it did kill the shroom, we can replace with a flytrap and botania is not near to cause remorse for kamau.
Ricki’s shroom has 1 health and 1 armor. 2 dmg would kill it and 3 would kill both.
Editing is just completely broken right now for me (it’s getting stopped by a spam filter because two comments is apparently commenting too frequently), but this should say 4 dmg would kill both.
Shrooms get a bonus attk and def if owner is a shroom, which Ricki does cause she’s spored
What? No. The OWNER gets that bonus. It’s the purple shield and sword on Ricki and Lara’s character sheet. Ricki has two shields because the other is from light armor prof.
Woups. I read that wrong. You’re right
Even if it doesn’t work, it’s a neat idea to try
If we want Lara to have the Giant sword (&maybe enchant it at some point before we leave the dungeon, should we maybe have ricki drop the scroll sooner rather than later?).
+7-8 seems way to much (for us to get our hands on)
I doubt trapping the zombies is that easy – but it might still work so …
