Dungeon 9 Turn 30
————
Ricki, Kamau, and Botanya move ahead into the dungeon. On the way, Ricki asks Kamau some things about what she’s seen with her Dungeon Eyes.
“So do you know anything about necromancers and giant skeletons?”
“You think there’s a necromancer? Yeah, that could certainly be the source of the undead… my understanding is they’d need to have found a source of the zombie plague in order to create real zombies, but I guess that’s not out of the question in a tomb like this.”
“They can raise, bolster, command, and heal undead. They may also be able to use death-element magic, which all the armour in the world won’t help against. Hard to say.”
“As for the skeleton, I think it’s probably just bigger and stronger than all these other ones.”
Up ahead, more groaning and shuffling can be heard…
Lara gets left behind until her paralysis wears off.
Plan: boss room pt 2
Lara: move right. Double move right again.
Ricki: move up and point out the trap door to the party. Avoid trap and stay with kamau. Aks kil about imps.
Kamau: move up. Avoid trap and stay where the jars used to be.
Botania: move up. Avoid trap, Double move right. Use your free room move to move to the bottom moat floor so the incoming zombies see you when they arrive.
Once again just getting into position. If the zombies agro onto botania, we can test and see if the zombies switch targets or not when the rest of the part arrives. I have kamau and Ricki staying outside the room to be safe.
Ricki and kamau both have free actions so I’m open to suggestions.
Ug. Sorry about all the typos.
To clarify: Ricki is to ask kamau about imps and botania is to move to the bottom floor.
I seem to have lost my ability to edit so someone may want to repost with new actions for kamau and or /ricki
Think we should use Botanya’s last point to heal Kamau? He’ll probably need it if he’s going to be tanking a Necromancer, who can probably bypass armor.
New reader! Was checking up on Will Save World For Gold out of Nostalgia, and discovered this in the sidebar! I’m not confident about making suggestions until I understand the “rules” a little more intimately by watching instead of just skimming through, but I’ll second this one; if Kamau is healed by 2, that puts him to 7, just barely letting him survive another six-damage-unblockable.
If Kamau takes 6 damage unblockable from the necromancer that basically means the fight would be unsurviveable without him in the party comp, since nothing would stop the enemies from just doing 6 unblockable damage in one go to Ricki in any other party. I think that’s too much unblockable damage to be possible.
I’m not sure if Cellphone (welcome, by the way. 🙂 ) meant 6 unblockable damage in one go, but possibly over a couple of turns?
Anyway, if there would be 6 unblockable damage (or a similarly high number) dealt in a single turn, it would be wiser to keep the heal on Botanya for now, because iirc. on how the game mechanics work (healing happens after damage dealing):
The first turn that the damage gets dealt, Kamau will trigger his “dauntless” ability.
In the second turn, we will KNOW about that amount of unblockable damage and can potentially use the heal from Botanya to have Kamau jump off deaths scythe a second time.
If we heal before the first time the damage gets dealt (and it happens to be bigger than what Kamau has left HP wise), we only get “one free revive” (the dauntless one).
Edit: clarfied/a word
Welcome to the the team! We’re always happy to have more ideas and perspectives and theories.
In addition to other stuff that gets done: Have Ricki ask Kamau about what a source of zombie plague could be and if (and how) it could be destroyed.
If we’re hurrying along anyways, that is a good question to make.
I am actually surprised asking for the characters to talk has worked. I advocate Kamau should go in first to fight the necromancer due to the unblockable damage.
