Dungeon 9 Turn 13

The party groups together to better handle the large number of enemies that have suddenly appeared. Botanya’s pipes once again work to stop the zombie from hitting anyone, preventing infection. Lara quickly dispatches it before it gets to try again.
Kamau intercepts all four ghosts. His armour is useless against their incorporeal touch, and he takes a total of 6 unblockable damage. Ricki, her pet mushroom, and the flytrap all attack the larger wraith. The mushroom’s limbs pass harmlessly through it, as does Ricki’s sword… except for the flicker of lightning that engulfs it, which seems to do at least some damage. Most surprisingly, the flytrap’s bite appears to be fully effective. However, the wraith isn’t finished just yet.
We’re in a shirty position, Kamau’s gonna have to eat it or he’ll be forced to abandon from remorse.
Kamau: Interpose
Botanya: Pipes on large wraith, might get lucky and avoid 3 damage to Kamau.
Ricki and Flytrap: Hit the large wraith again.
Lara: Try hitting a small wraith, plant based damage from spear might be effective?
I have no viable suggestions for the mushrooms. Moral support dance.
How much HP does Kamau have left? The Characters page has not been updated, I’m worried Kamau might die if this fight isn’t finished within the next 2 turns. And we can’t just run away risk-free as Ch. 7 taught us that enemies have a free turn to attack our party as we’re trying to GTFO.
Kamau has 10 HP left. Assuming we kill the big wraith this turn, he has at least 3 turns in this combat before he fully dies since he can revive with 1 HP once. If we end up having to trigger that, we should seriously consider just abandoning the dungeon.
Lets fuckin go if we have to, it’s not worth the risk!
We’re not out of options yet. It’s bad yes. But it’s early. We’ll push ahead a bit more at least and see the next room at least.
Kamau: Interpose
Lara: attack Big Ghost with your anti-undead corn spear
Flytrap: Attack the Big Ghost to make sure it’s re-dead
Ricki: Attack a small Ghost with Lightning
Mushroom 1 & 2: attack a different small ghost together.
Botania: Pipe the Big Ghost and congratulate yourself on your piping skills.
If ghosts are immune to physical attacks, then our most powerful weapons are the Flytrap, Corn spear, and possibly the wooden stakes. Ricki’s lightning will help deduce how much HP the little ghosts have and the Mushrooms will confirm if the little ones share the physical immunity.
These things could make Kamau remorse real easy so we’ll have to be very careful with Tombs and Pots moving forward.
Physical immunity is a low blow. We have too little magic across all our characters. Let’s open no more tombs and break no more pots.
Indeed, let us listen to the GM hints in general. LSN told us not to break the pots…
Only magic and plants hurt these things, and they are presumably immune to poison.
