Dungeon 9 Turn 12
————
The rest of the party joins Botanya in the new room. Ricki and Lara, along with their mushrooms, work together to quickly destroy the two zombies guarding the nearby sarcophagus. For whatever reason both zombies end up targeting the mushrooms with their counterattacks, dealing 1 damage and infecting both of them. It seems fungi don’t have the same immunity that plants do.
Meanwhile, Kamau heaves the heavy lid off the unguarded sarcophagus. There doesn’t seem to be any treasure inside, only a massive angry wraith. It rises from the disturbed burial site and stares Kamau down. It doesn’t look fully corporeal, so there’s no telling what it might be capable of…
Botanya kicks four more burial urns over, finding another seven gold coins. Three smaller angry spirits arise from the clay remains. A zombie also drags itself up the ladder from below and attack, but Botanya takes no damage and is immune to infection.
Can we stop breaking pots now please? We were already warned bad shit would happen if we kept it up.
The coffins at least may contain stuff more interesting than 2 coins each.
Kamau: interpose both battles.
Lara and pet: attack zombie
Ricki and pet: attack big wraith.
Plant: attack big wraith
Botania: pipe zombie
Removing zombie is priority one. Second is preventing remorse which is why kamau is Interposing. We don’t know what these wraiths can do, so overkill is our best approach.
To add onto this, the big worry is that an incorporeal enemy might be able to bypass defense like the ghost in the manor. If that’s the case, we can’t afford to let those enemies hit anyone but Kamau.
I dunno if Kamau can interpose two fights at once. I would let him join the right battle and the big Wraith can follow if it wants.
He interposed both ghast and zombie bat earlier
Interesting to note then – unarmed zombies do two damage.
Botanya reduces damage by one for enemies in melee range.
That means she and a flytrap can safely engage two zombies at a time without fear of any damage, even if they both attack the flytrap. And no infection either of course. They can do more than that if we’re willing to risk damage on the flytrap.
Is this a good argument for making one or two more flytraps?
Have the flytrap attack the zombie with Botanya nearby while everyone else goes for the Wraith and Kamau focuses on defense
they seem nice
