“I’d say that dungeon went pretty well, wouldn’t you?”
“Ricki, a ghost stabbed me through the SOUL five times.”
“Yeah but you’ll get BETTER!”
“Nobody got hurt permanently or anything! And we got a whole entire house out of it!”
“PLUS…! I got the soul-stabbing sword!”
“Although I don’t know if I can actually stab souls with it any more…”
“Nothing I saw in there changed my mind about how dangerous these dungeons are. We were minutes away from disaster.”
“But fine, you’re right. We got a house out of it, assuming your mysterious benefactor doesn’t show up suddenly with a legion of the Guard to take it away.”
“I’m sure it’ll be fine forever.”
“In that case, now that we have a new place to live and grow food, and enough space for all your weird new friends, are you going to quit while you’re ahead and stop sneaking away to explore dungeons?”
“…”
“I see.”
“In that case, I’m going to go try to get some sleep. I’ve been up all day because of this nonsense. Wake me up for breakfast. I recommend letting that nice young kobold cook another rat, but if you find something else, that’ll work just as well I suppose.”
“And you let me know before you head off on your next ridiculous lark. I may be tagging along again.”
“Lohk, you don’t have to—”
“Yes I do, Ricki.”
Aw. Wonder when this will end.
Death of the main character due to negligence of course.
Why would we do a thing like that?
Actually, don’t answer that.
There’s this player’s curiosity, isn’t it?
What if I fuck this up? How does the end game screen look? Do I get different end game screens for different screw ups? and so on.
Yeah. Definitely a thing.
We’ve made many mistakes. One of these days, we’ll make one too many.
“Ricki, a ghost stabbed me through the SOUL 5 times.”
That line certainly killed ME, lmao
The “page forward” button on the last comic goes to https://dungeoneyes.com/intermisison-6-page-3 which is 404.
Grow food? Who knows how to grow food? This is going to become a game of Farmville on the side?
Interesting. The only diff between this and that url is ‘/’ at the end. Probably typo.
You know. Story-wise, Plants grow. We’ve seen apples. Rats grow too. I suppose they, at least Lohk, know some basics like ‘dont let them run away’, ‘toss them some food every day’, and even if they don’t have memorized any good blueprints like ‘cage’ or ‘fence’ or ‘pen’, they have enough rooms and doors to lock some rats inside.
Game-wise, nah, I’d think we may get some option for investing in house repair for some minor bonuses or options like ‘repair stove’ to get ‘turn meat/etc into food rations for next quest’.
Intermission is misspelled on the link but not the landing page.
Ah, so it’s going to be like Skyrim where there is a home improvement subgame.
Dunno. Just guessing.
Wonder how dungeon magic changes cooking. We definitely can’t smif rings without a dungeon, and it’s been confirmed that the cheese fondue recipe won’t even work in other dungeons to make delicious cake. Still, we have seen cooking outside dungeons, and now we do have access to a stove. It probably needs fuel now rather than magically working as a dungeon prop, and it doesn’t take a turn to cook things since there aren’t turns, but why not cook raw meat?
Could go either way but I am sure dungeoneering locations from the pyramid subcontrac… ehemm… friendly associates are still on the table for a couple of dungeons.
Think more Plants VS Zombies?
What more could you want?
Macadamia and Lohk each have one more bond point until their thresholds, so I figure Team Small will continue. I suspect next dungeon will see Kamau, Macadamia, and Lohk unless we get some strong hints otherwise.
I wanted to drop a line about Lohk riding on Daisy with Swiftblade, weather’s raining, and we get ‘riders on the storm’ vibes
I remembered the stats, Daisy provides 3 move, so the Swiftblade would be 1enc, 1handed, and have +4 atk. Really rice!
And then, I noticed this: “Atk +1. Deals extra damage equal to wielder’s Mov.”
It’s is not stated as a bonus ATK. It’s stated as bonus DAMAGE. So Swiftblade wouldn’t be +4Atk. It’s stated as “Deals extra damage”, so it is normal damage, added after (Atk-Def) reduction, and subject to any dodges/etc. And it’s with “extra”, not “unblockable”, so it’s still reduced by any remaining unspent Def.
For normal melee combat that would be 100% same as stating that it’s +Atk bonus, but there’s a huge difference for ‘as if’ skills – like the AoE the Knight had – “do X where Y is your Atk stat”. Atk stat gets only +1 for the blade for the purpose of such skills, regardless of mov.
Damn, smart nerf!
