Intermission 6 Page 4

“I see… so after you defeated the knight, the dungeon reverted back to normal space, and that’s when I was finally able to get the door open.”
“I suppose it was the knight’s curse that was holding the door shut. And maybe holding the entire dungeon together, as well?”
“Generally a dungeon is able to revert when there are no dungeon creatures left alive inside. I imagine the knight was just the last one that you took out.”
“That doesn’t make sense, though.”
“There was still one dungeon creature left when everything changed. A weird dog in one of the bedrooms.”
“Really? I thought the dog and the rats killed each other. All those skull lights on the tomb door went out.”
“Lohk was in the room with it, I could see it still sitting there up until the dungeon disappeared.”
“Well then, that means this dog must not have been a dungeon creature at all. Just another visitor.”
“Does that mean it’s still wandering around somewhere, then?”
“I guess.”
“That’s weird. I didn’t see it when I looked around…”
Just follow Daisy.
LOHK was in the room, not even able to see it at the end, so RICKI could SEE it?
We call it… the DUNGEON EYES!
Ow. Poor worg.
Yes! Time to sniff butts! Getting to know each other the best possible way!
Better love story than Twilight?
A phone book is a better love story than that.
But also, yes!
SpiderMinstrel already wrote the first chapter for this story 🙂
@ Lara: Congratulations for not burning down the house. Please read https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31978829/ and revise the way you dispose of toxic waste! We may want to grow food or get water from your current unsecured toxic waste site. – This incident has not been reported to Lohk.
Lohk’s secret special ability is MOMSTER VISION. She sees everything.
but only when Ricky’s involved?
Increased cancer risk is a problem for non-adventurers who expect to die of natural causes. If Lara cared about health, she wouldn’t be casting soul-consuming magic.
The mold is likely more of an air hazard than the cigarette smoke at the moment. A little burning might make this place safer…
Hmm, so that’s the difference between clearing a dungeon and completely defeating it.
That’s also probably why the Guard left the Chapel alone, they couldn’t solve the puzzle to reveal the Faithless so it just kept spawning new skeletons.
I wonder if the King Rat commands faithful pancake rat servants to stay in the Vault while it’s flooded to keep it from reverting, or if that one is an exception.
Meanwhile, I did wonder what happened to the worg as it was described in the wrap-up as not being a dungeon creature. Probably still won’t be our friend, left alone with a rat to die.
Also, dropping more hints around Lara (and Mac) who don’t yet know about Dungeon Eyes.
I think the blood is worg’s and clearly at least Daisy will try to follow the trail. If it has not died during shrinking, then it may be possible to be taken care of. The description was that to recruit it, it’s enough for a goblin to interact with it. Since it may still be alive, and we have some goblins, I could be that the recruiting/taming is going to take place now, in the intermission, providing the party considers it a better investment than cooking a worgstew.
