Dungeon 6 Turn 33
————
While Lara and the batbeast fail to harm each other with their ranged attacks, Ricki ducks over to the locked chest. Pet Master shouts some things at her about challenging him to a PET DUEL but Ricki ignores him because her pet just died. She unlocks the chest (throwing away her last set of tools in the process) and finds a suit of hide armour with bat wings on it. Ricki experiences an invasive thought that Lara would look really hot wearing it. But it’s too heavy for her to carry right now, so she leaves it where it is.
Macadamia grabs another set of keys. They’re labelled “library”. He adds them to his key ring.
Lohk grabs the wand of death touch from the kitchen and uses her ability as a channeler to absorb the magic inside it. She’s never channeled death magic before, and she doesn’t much like the feeling, but for better or worse that magic now dwells inside her. She now has a new ability available the next time she levels up. She discards the now-useless wand.
Lohk also briefly peeks into the basement to check how things are doing down there.
Macadamia and Lohk meet up in the foyer. They try to have a conversation but the bat is too distracting.

HIDE ARMOUR, BAT
Armour
Def +2. As an action can use echolocation to identify roosting bats at range without activating them.
Weight 2, Cost 20
I don’t see Lara ever wearing the Bat Hide Armor because of how much we focus on giving her Defense. Is sexy Ricki good enough? 😛
(Lohk’s disapproval would make it way better than sexy Lara!)
Seriously though, having more Hide Armor is awesome. Would’ve been even more awesome earlier, but that Ability is so sexy that I can’t complain.
Lara: Boost Ricki up to the chest on the ledge. This hasn’t taken an action before, so attack the batbeast with your greataxe when it lands.
Ricki: Join Lara and get boosted up to the chest to loot it.
Macadamia: Enter the library, unlock the door to the owlbear, then run back to the entryway.
Lohk: Head to the living room, feed the candy from the floor to Daisy, then go up to the tower. If you can, engage in the pet battle this turn, otherwise we’ll have to do it next turn.
According to batbeast behavior from the lens, it should land next turn since it’s ranged did no damage. May I suggest we get our actions to attack it?
Are we sure that dogs can eat candies?
I suddenly want to see Lara in BatHideArmour.
Also, why didn’t the SpiderWolf disappear? Hm.
When your friends die you have to stare at their corpses for the rest of the dungeon. To remind you of your failure.
That’s a rule I approve of wholeheartedly.
the 6 tiny skulls can probably be deactivated by killing the 5 rats and the last remaining bat in the entrance room (or one of the bats near the kidney pincher).
the 4 medium skulls could be the black dog and the two plague rats and one more monster (possibly one hiding under the bed? Or perhaps the punchbug hiding in the chest?)
the 3 big skulls are probably the batbeast, the owlbear and … the kidney pincher?
All in all, there are 3 more things/creatures hidden under beds. We can’t know what size those creatures might be relating to, skull wise, before we discover what creatures they are.
I doubt that the pet master is related to the opening of the the basement door.
Also, something I wanted to post last turn, but forgot to send:
I’m sad that the wolf spider died, I was kind of hoping if we could heal it back up and/or treated it well enough (e.g. let it eat a lot of rats – rats were involved in the first wolf spider encounter we had, too, and that one would have ended up with it as a permanent pet. iirc what was said in the “after dungeon stream”), that it might lose the “unloyal” trait and become a permanent pet. But at least it had a good death (protecting our characters from a worse outcome).
I was about to say that we can use Lohk to check the door once we take out targets but if Daisy gets knocked out by the Pet Trainer, we lose that rapid movement.
We had similar ideas for the skulls left. We need to experiment now but it looks like we will have to ill everything to get through the door to the Knight’s area.
Okay. I think that I got it.
Three “eyes” under the beds are the three large skulls left.
The Owlbear, Medusa, Large Blue Dog and Batbeast are the Medium Skulls left.
The Three bats with the Medusa, the one in the Foyer and the two rats with the Large Blue Dog are the small skulls left.
Anyone else see something different?
I figure that we need to get a Lens from Paws to identify the Medusa.
Ricki: Go Down, Drop the Helmet and Wolf Hide Armor where the the Candy is, then go back up and equip the Bat Hide Armor.
Lara: Smash the Batbeast when it lands
Maca: Go up, unlock the Owlbear Door to get the keys out of your inventory, and go back down.
Lohk: Go back to the top room. Pick up the Candy on the way and feed it to Daisy. Challenge the Pokemon Trainer to a battle!
Explanation: Shamelessly copying most of thisnameismeta’s post but making a minor change.
The Batbeast is probably landing this turn if it only sees Lara because itit knows it can’t hurt her with Ranged Attacks. If it sees Ricki, it might not land or it start flying before the next attack. Waiting until next turn to attack guarantees the 2 Turn Kill without having to wait.
Ricki doesn’t need the Helmet as much as Maca and Lohk will and is for the sake of doing it while she has time and putting on the Bat Hide Armor is in case we want the Wolf Hide Armor on Lohk again.
I think it’d be good for Lohk next turn to put in the wolf hide armor but that’s perfect. Setting up that we can do that
I’m saying it now and will say it again in the future: we need to keep the bat armor until we find the complete bat set.
Macadamia: Go to the library, unlock the owlbear door, then return to the foyer.
Lohk: Go drop a leather armor in the loot pile in the kitchen. Then go trade equipment with Ricki in the walkway above the kitchen bedroom.
Ricki: Trade equipment with Lohk in walkway above the kitchen bedroom.
Lara: Attack the batbeast with the great axe when it lands.
Ricki and Lohk layout from trades:
Ricki: magma shield, Helmet, longsword, leather armor, Ring of Protection, Ring of Aggression
Lohk: Cane, Wolf Hide, shield, oxidicer, Ring of Aggression, Silver Ring
This gets Ricki set up to pick up the bat armor whenever we finish with the bat fight. It also gets Lohk equipped to buff Daisy. On the following turn Mac will be able to buff Daisy by feeding her candy, leaving Lohk free to start the pet fight. Ricki will also already have 6 defense and be ready to join Lara in fighting the Batbeast. Ricki will have 3 open slots which will allow her to hold the bat armor and hopefully also whatever is in the chest above the bat. We should have everything necessary to equip Macadamia with us so it’ll just be a matter of dropping the right items in a pile for him after the fight.
