Dungeon 6 Turn 25
————
Lohk investigates another bookshelf. On the top left one she finds a strange note:
“Three which are alike in shape but different in composition can be worked together.”
What’s that supposed to mean? Lohk has no idea. She almost regrets that she didn’t just send Daisy to fight that last skeleton, but she can’t have her pet go fight somewhere else while she’s reading on a different floor.
Ricki and Macadamia join Lara in her fight against the larger group of skeletons. Two more bone boys are defeated with little struggle, but the ghost appears once again and drains Lara’s health for the first time.
Ricki: go read a book, while wolf spider attacks remaining skeleton in the library
Lohk, Mac, Daisy and Lara: attack the remaining skeletons on the right
Does this mean check a bookshelf? If so, I can’t imagine it will work any better for Wolfie than it did for Daisy.
Wolf spider has an ability that lets it fight distant enemies. Not sure if that will count as within eyesight since there’s a ceiling but it really FEELS like it should.
Yeah, not to me 🙂 I think “within sight of owner” is pretty clear. But maybe Ricki could take Wolfie to the skeleton, then go back downstairs once the attack is in progress?
Why I think wolf spider can attack even while Ricki reads; line of sight, and Ricki’s line of sight is always impacted by dungeon eyes
Hmmm… Lhok’s note might refer to using the worktable in basement for something. Only thing I can think of that might work is if we find a copper and gold ring to go with our silver one
Rings and Potions (Rage, Healing, Shield) are the only items that have same sprite.
Potions wouldn’t make sense with workbench
so i agree it’s a hint about combining rings.
Copper ring we can buy from Paws when we summon him. Gold we need to hope to find in dungeon.
Let’s ask Mac if he knows anything about combining different rings.
Potions can de mixed in a bucket, you know…
I suddenly noticed that two mugs in the wardrobe are of different height. Glitch? Or are they different?
I think it could also refer to potions. Three bottles (similar shape), different fluids (composition), and so on. We have healing potion (red) and a green potion in the wardrobe, we know there are other potions as well. But that’s as good a guess as any other at this moment.
That red potion is the leftover box of cigs Lara brought in (it wasn’t consumed when she automatically smoked them)
I actually meant the red potion in the inventory, but what I didn’t notice is that’s Kamau’s.
Ah. In any case that potion is actually a potion of rage. The green potion is the healing potion.
Could it be a hint from lone star that we should count rats, bats, and squirrels as the same thing for the safe combo?
Well.. I’d say that they have barely similar form, and much similar composition inside, so doesn’t really fit.
I would argue the opposite. The have similar bone structures and body plans but slightly different accessories components.
This has probably already been thought of and disproven on the discord, but does the ghost always attack whoever is closest to the portrait?
That’s the current working theory on the discord actually!
Nice!
Lohk: Read a book from the bookshelf. If Ricki for whatever reason finds a bookshelf with an item and you don’t, please have the courtesy to pick up the item she finds and can’t hold.
Ricki: Head to the library and read a book. Send your wolf spider to attack the skeleton above using its “Chase Down” ability.
Wolf Spider:
Attack“Chase Down” the library skeleton. Don’t whine about line of sight not going through a ceiling – Ricki can totally poke her head out of the ladder before reading to send you on a murder quest.
Macadamia: Head to the library and attack the last skeleton there.
Lara: Kill a skeleton above the kitchen.
I want us to start making our way towards the big bat above. Unfortunately, it seems to me that we’ll be unable to lens it and get everyone in position to fight it before turn 30 if we move as fast as possible. I think we should use our actions efficiently to take out enemies in this area now, while working towards fighting the big bat on turn 31 or so. My hope is to attack the lobby bats the turn after this one with everyone (except pets). Rushing to get to the bat now will probably lead to us having to waste actions while we try to keep Lara closest to the tomb for ghost attack purposes. There’s only so much we have available to us for actions in the tower.
Heh. Actually. Ricky has also ‘Dungeon Eyes’. Does that count for “within sight of owner“?
(note that’s “within sight” not “line of sight”)
🙂
We’re going to find out. That’s actually very important info
What about “killing” the dog skeleton, killing the scorpion, looting the chest, grabbing the keys, determining whether the rat hole goes left or up, searching the red 3-seater, “killing” another dog skeleton on the way up?
I count 3 really productive actions we can do – keys, chest, and couch. None of those are accessible until after the scorpion is dead, and if we rush for it I think we can’t start that fight until turn 27. The dog skeletons could yield another two actions but I think they’re much lower priority right now.
If it takes two turns we would finish the scorpion fight on turn 28. Because we have to keep Lara closest to the tomb if we want to have her get hit by the ghost, that would mean having everyone end turn 29 above or right of Lara in the tower, and also planning actions for turn 30 that would keep that true. I think we’re unlikely to manage that if we just rush into the tower, but if you can work out a sequence that doesn’t waste actions and still rushes the tower I’d love to see it.
Checking the rat hole out seems dangerous if we have to go through it to check. Left is totally safe but up would put us behind the kidney pincher, and I’d rather use that path to ambush it if we use it at all.
At this point I think the dog skeletons are a secondary objective compared to all the locked chests remaining as well as the enemies. If we end up having extra time those skeletons should be quite accessible after we clear the master bedroom.
