Dungeon 6 Turn 14
————
Lara switches back to her heavy pick as Ricki and the wolf spider charge forward to help fight. They smash the baatle with the force of their combined attack, but Lara takes 1 damage from being beaned in the head by a ladybaatle.
The previously thrown ladybaatle attacks Lohk, but does no damage.
Macadamia retreats from the master bedroom and returns to the library. He searches another bookshelf, but one of the tomes he picks up disgorges a giant, ravenous bookworm. Mac really wishes he could go one turn without finding a bossfight.
Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to be paying all that much attention to Macadamia. Instead it looks at the remaining books and begins to salivate.
Macadamia continues moving back to the entrance room.
Ricki: disengage and head to library and engage bookworm.
Wolfspider: engage bookworm.
Lhok: disengage and follow Ricki under table, ray of frost bookworm
Daisy do not attack
Lara: kill a ladybug with pickaxe.
Mac: honestly, just go sit in a corner in the entrance and think about what you did. Destroy a dog skeleton (top of ladder)
Logic: bug battle can probably be solo’s by Lara since big bug is dead. That frees up the goblins to engage bookworm to save our books. If Lara attacks one ladybug the it probably won’t hit the goblins before they leave. I hope the other ladybug engages Lara as well but lhok using range should keep her out of danger.
For mac, I honestly don’t know. I dont want him to loot more bookcases just in case another bookworm spawns (I think unlikely but don’t want to risk it)
Anyone else remember spawning 3 bosses on island of starlight? I’m having flashbacks.
Make sure you have people dodge flies!
Although implied, Ricki and Lhok both go under table.
if you don’t use mac action make him pick up scroll, i afraid bug may eat it
Baatle is dead (confirmed by LSN on discord), so we just have the ladybaatles to worry about. We want to save the books so we’re having everybody (but Lara cause of flies) go help Mac, who…can’t do anything in combat cause he could die if the bookworm does 6 damage (and then is targeted by the spectre).
There is also a Monster under the Bed, but as long as Lara keeps herself away from it, the monster should stay there and not attack.
Edited to have Mac show us the tomb door. It’s highly likely the bookworm made a big light go back on, so we are forced to kill it to proceed.
Next turn (15) also the undead will strike again. – Maybe Macadamia should wear the rusty chain mail when exploring. He cannot pick up another item then, but he would not die of a paper-cut..
Ghost is only going to do one unblockabke damage no matter what. Armor won’t do anything about that sadly.
Yes, my two sentences are unrelated to each other, therefore the dash between them, but good to state it explicitly.
Uh oh. Just for the record, “They smash the baatle” is quite ambiguous for me. Does it mean that the bug is killed, or not? We usually were able to see the crossed-out-eyes, or flying heads, or something, but here everything is obscured on the picture, and “smash” for me could very well mean heavy impact damage, and not necessarily death.
I know that maybe it’s just obvious due to all the incoming ATK, but still it would be nice to get it clear either in visuals or text.
LSN confirmed in discord that the Baatle is dead.
Ah, traps we can’t see. Sure am glad we got Trap Detection II.
Sounds like this one is like Rusty, won’t attack unless you’re between it and valuable paper. Hopefully it can’t climb ladders so we’ll only lose the bottom floor. Macadamia could grab the shocking enchantment, which risks death if it deals 6 damage or 5 damage plus ghost.
Mac has 2 armor due to his helmet. It’s 6 damage plus ghost to kill Mac.
(moved as a new top-level post)
If at some point we need items from the kitchen tables (IIRC, raw meat heals dogs and maybe wolf spiders, and cheese heals Ricky (at least when she was malnourished)) – those are on the tables, and flies do 1 dmg, unblockable. But small person crawling under the table should be able to reach up, between tables, and grab a thing. Ricky already did such trick with apples, and we don’t have anyone who could grab her hand when doing so. Flies have no hands and can’t grab, alright 😉
That’s the creative idea. Probably will cost an action per item, since it needs sneaky stealthy arm stretching.
Then, if not possible, we can probably grab them all in one go (picking up unguarded items didn’t cost an action), at the cost of 1hp (passing through flies costs it, but all the picking up is still done in one turn, so just one pass).
I don’t agree with you, friends)
Except last ladybaatle, we have also a rat king under the bad. If we must kill all enemies to open the door to boss, return later is not a most effectively tactic) It is better to stay there one turn more killing him)
But about Lock I advise to go down and try to do something with furmace) Mak really shold scatter the bones)
We don’t know if the eyes under the beds will all result in the same creature appearing from below it, or different creatures (maybe even a unique one for each bed).
Ricki: Move to the library, dodging under the table on your way, and attack the book worm.
Wolf Spider: Follow Ricki, attack the bookworm.
Lohk: Follow Ricki, also crawling under the table, and cast Ray of ice on the bookworm.
Lara: Go down the ladder but stay left of the bugs. Drop the Magma Shield and longsword for Mac to pick up later, then return upstairs and attack the ladybaatle you damaged before, but this time with your heavy pick.
Macadamia: Break a wolf skeleton in the entryway, then move to the right to prepare to grab your equipment next turn.
Just to be clear, we want Lohk and Daisy to go to the library together, right?
Daisy can’t separate from Lohk so yes
i think we should have someone break the stove pipe.
Mac does nothing THAT usefull. Maybe some aggresion will be good for him? Gotta start at inanimate objects, then move to animals, and then to people. Small steps therapy.
Hopefully the smoke will go to top room and gas the bugs. Unlike last turn with Lara going to engage them we are sending party elswere, so we have some time for smoke to do it’s thing.
Definitely for Mac either splitting that pipe either this turn or next.
Now that we confirmed the pipe goes nowhere it is valid to break if we don’t mind losing the oven itself
Probably too late but what the heck.
Mac : get the heck out of there and move to the kitchen up a level. Don’t go into the flies and see if that stove pipe can be broken or loosened to pour smoke onto this level to get rid of the flies.
Everyone else except daisy: finish off the lady baatles.
Sorry foljs, but splitting the party to fight a boss is a bad idea. Yep, we lose some potential loot and lore. Too bad, but we gotta be safe. Plus this likely fishes off this upper level and we can maybe go back after and only lose one bookshelf. Worth it.
Macadamia isn’t near the shelves now
even better. Then just move one to the kitchen and forget picking up the scroll and just look at the stove instead. Try the smoke out plan. If we lose the scroll that sucks but better that than a pc.
I really like the idea to use the smoke to get rid of the flies.
WARNING WARNING 😀The bookworm, we all checked the bookshelves, and saw no traces of the trap, correct?Maybe we did it again all by ourselves, just like with Ricky’s warning about traps? It may be totally possible that we never got a true view of this room through Ricky’s eyes, so we couldn’t benefit from TrapDetection skill.I checked whole dungeon6 so far, and here’s what happened:We’ve seen this room on:turn 1 – Macadamia takes a peekturn 2 – Lohk finds a scrollturn 14 – Macadamia find the green sausageI was shocked to see we basicaly ignored that room for 12 rounds 😀And we’ve seen it as soon as round 1, but it was Mac’o’vision, not Ricky’o’vision. If it works like with warning-about-traps, if TD2 works really only when Ricky herself is in the room, then we’ll have another thing to keep an eye for.For example, let’s check that in the room with Kidney-Pincher. Only Macadamia took a peek there, and we see no traps. If Ricky goes inside, and we suddenly see a trap, bang, proved.… or we could check all previous 5 dungeons and see if ALL the traps were readily seen from the very first time even if non-Ricky uncovered the room.Evidence against this plan – we know stalkroaches are well hidden traps and we can see the one in the chest in the rat hole. If this was a trap we’d have seen it
Perfect counterargument. Thank you! I didn’t notice this antennae. And that’s even in the same room, so we’re 100% sure that’s the same case, Ricky have not seen it yet herself.
